The best restaurants in Strathtay Perth & Kinross Central Scotland

After a lovely evening with lovely food, we asked if someone could possibly call us a taxi as we had no signal on any of our phones. The waiter told us they could not do this as they can’t contact taxi firms on anyone’s behalf. This is very disappointing and we would love to know what policy and procedures this follows under any business not wanting to ensure the safety of their customers! Unfortunately due to this we will not return.

Chelsea Fiona James Charlie and Laura are the most polite understanding compassionate and welcoming people I have had the pleasure to meet they have truly made erigmore a place I hold dearly in my heart without them it would never be the same they each have their own amazing qualities. I can honestly say for once I feel like I truly belong and feel equal to others I have major mental health problems and find it extremely difficult to be around people but due to these people I can feel like I am a human here due to these people they have gone above and beyond any expectation anyone could imagine five members of staff that make me want to return Everytime and I truly get excited to be there cherish these people as I truly believe they can take this company to great heights and tremendous success thank you for such a inspirational and special family that I call erigmore. Fantastic place with wonderful service. I went there on a cold November day and ordered the most delicious caramel apple crumble to take away and they threw in some custard in a separate container. Lovely staff and a lovely shop.

After coming here regularly for over 20 years we’ve finally lost patience with this place! They couldnt care less about providing customers with decent service, decent food or prices that the Edinburgh elite won’t bulk at. The whole operation has become a shambolic mess…left ravenous on two occasions now due to inept menu management. If I could rate a zero I would. Give this place a wide berth….we certainly will be!

Ordered a tea and a flat white which and was charged to use the disgusting port a loos totalled £6 ... coffee was espresso size!! Lids were dusty and dirty. How can this be justified!!

Ordered vegan food and found what seemed like animal part in it. They insisted it was part of a mushroom which it clearly wasn’t. This made my wife feel sick and therefore couldn’t accept the offer of another meal. Offers of drinks etc weren’t acceptable as this had ruined our evening. I had to argue for any reduction in the bill and was threatened with the police if I didn’t pay. Appalling customer service.

Excellent prices!! and good choice of family food. Mushroom soup delicious. Haddock lovely all way through. Efficient service and lovely surroundings. Will be back again when back down. Thank you.

This place is a joke. My sister’s smoked sausage looked like a lump of charcoal — completely black on the outside, yet somehow still raw in the middle. How do you even mess up that badly? The chips were a disgrace: limp, greasy, and tasted like they’d been sitting out all day. My battered sausage was revolting — full of black crusty bits, tasted off, and made me feel sick to my stomach. I was close to throwing up. Honestly, this is some of the worst food I’ve ever had. Health inspectors should pay them a visit. Avoid this dump like the plague.

Ordered fish and chips and a single batter sausage. Had to wait for about 10 minutes so thought it would be fresh. How wrong were we. Fish was yellow in middle and chewy. Probably reheated. Batter on both fish and sausage was overcooked and brick hard. Chips were overcooked. I wouldn't bother if you want something to eat. Our went in the bin. Inedible. If we hadn't been on route to a meeting, we would have taken it back.

I would give two stars for the food and one star for table etiquette. We were unimpressed when we sat down to a table setting of basic low-quality, stamped-out flatware with sharp edges. Three of us ordered meat (duck, pork and beef), the other fish. No alternative, appropriate knives were brought to suit the food, nor was the cutlery replaced after the starter. There were splotches of dried food debris on the underside of all the placemats, which apparently never gets wiped off when they are stacked. The food itself was okay, but portions were on the small side and overpriced for what it was, e.g. two slices of duck breast, 1" slice of sea bass, very little vegetable to accompany. The chicken liver parfait starter was good but came with only three small slices of toasted baguette and bread was £6 extra. There was an abundance of wait staff operating on high-speed settings. We had trouble understanding what kept so many staff on the run (literally) given the restaurant was not full and could have been disruptive were it a romantic dinner for two. We just watched the show. Overall, a four-star restaurant should pay more attention to detail, quality and cleanliness, if it wants to have a four-star reputation.

We dropped in here for a drink and decided to have lunch. They had a mainly Italian food menu which was fine.
