The best restaurants in Strathtay Perth & Kinross Central Scotland

While searching for a place to dine, we discovered this wonderful, dog-friendly restaurant with delicious food and reasonable prices. However, we did find the entrance a bit difficult to locate. Clearer signage or larger letters on the door would make it easier for first-time visitors.

Superb little cafe. Only teas, scone and cakes this time but same friendly service and great tasting food. From recent experience though I can say the clootie dumplings are amazing- as good as my great aunts made, which is high praise I can assure you. Every time we are in the area we stop off - a must if you are in Dunkeld.

We received a discount to play as we were staying at Glen Glack nearby. The course is 9 holes and great for us novices players.

Tried to visit here in July but a local told us it closed after lockdown so don’t go here as there is a very limited choice in Stanley. The Stathord Inn serves good food at an excellent price.

Don’t go anywhere else. This is a busy bistro and café serving simple food which is of the highest quality and delicious. You can also have a glass of wine, beer, teas and coffee and soft drinks. The cakes look good too. It does takeaway. The staff are pleasant and very efficient. It has loos.

Best flat white I've ever had and great service too Nice to sit outside although the nearby A9 can be noisy. Added bonus was I got up close to their Highland cows with the bonus of a recent born calf being there.

Popped in for coffee and a bun; lovely venue, made to feel very welcome and to cap it all, the coffee was the best we had had during our wee tour of the area

Unfortunately just not what is used to be .. we had used this as our favourite in the area for a long time .. breakfast always good .. lunches excellent.. but unfortunately tried it again the other day after 6 months break and still hadn’t improved.. real shame .

Visited twice during our stay in nearby Dunkeld. Luvly friendly welcome from the laydees behind the counter, who delivered our coffee's to us outside, as we sat in the sunshine, enjoying our surroundings. We enjoyed sausage rolls, and delicious carrott cake, Cafe very popular with locals, and dog walkers, thoroughly enjoyed our visits, also has a wee Post Office inside, well worth a visit. :) :)

Fresh and yummy Scottish fare. We stopped here on a whim and found it to be charming and clean with excellent food at a good price

Service and surroundings good, but food not up to scratch. It is not inexpensive! The haddock was poor…block (previously frozen)? Accompanied by a sauce labelled as tartare, which was at best chippy sachet tartare….poor! A clear drive to maximise profits by scrimping on ingredients. Please consider paying a bit more for good ingredients. It will pay off. It feels like I was ripped off.

Stopped off at Dunkeld Fish Bar today and couldn’t have been more impressed! We had white pudding suppers (each), a single fish (lovely crispy battered haddock), and a spicy haggis single — all cooked fresh while we waited. The quality was excellent — proper fresh ingredients, crispy batter, and generous portions. The owner was a very warm and welcoming host, and the staff were great fun — really friendly and made the whole experience even better. Prices were very reasonable too, especially compared to some other fish and chip shops these days. We took our food down to the banks of the River Tay and enjoyed it on a bench overlooking the water (while fending off a few seagulls who fancied our chips!). A fantastic spot, wonderful food, great service — if you’re in or around Dunkeld, I highly recommend popping into the Dunkeld Fish Bar. We’ll definitely be back!

Warning: EXTORTIONATE PRICE ALERT +Lovely setting: the garden is an idyllic setting on a sunny day with a lovely atmosphere and inviting music. +Pleasant, presentable, efficient staff. +Food appeared to be of high quality. -I did not order anything (neither food nor drink) as the price of everything was despicably disproportionate to reality🙃

One starter was forgotten . Food ok bit on the pricey side . Ordered puddings but we gave up waiting paid the bill and left not the Sunday lunch we were expecting staff seemed to be under pressure for some reason I t was busy but they seemed to have enough staff

Quite a straightforward menu and seating available when other places along the High Street didn't. So this was welcome.
