The best restaurants in Strathtay Perth & Kinross Central Scotland

Being really picky on food I saw the fish chowder advertised but hesitated ...if it's not done well it can be horrible. OMG this luscious chowder arrived creamy perfection with great chunks of fish and some asparagus spears as extra through it. The taste consistency and presentation were sublime ....wayyyyy above my expectations.

We visited on Saturday 17th for Afternoon Tea, this was something we had done previously and had enjoyed it. This experience was very different, the savoury plate was very scant with little variety, the sweet plate was uninspiring as well. No one asked us if everything was okay, we were politely served but that’s where the service ended. Balathie House isn’t cheap for Afternoon Tea, it used to be sumptuous and good value, sadly it was far from it this time, we came away very disappointed and no one seemed to care.

Stopped here for breakfast after staying the night in Dunkeld and it did not disappoint! Lovely big breakfast which, good value for money and the staff were so friendly. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Popped in for coffee and a bun; lovely venue, made to feel very welcome and to cap it all, the coffee was the best we had had during our wee tour of the area

Fresh and yummy Scottish fare. We stopped here on a whim and found it to be charming and clean with excellent food at a good price

had the nicest cake I have ever had! fresh out of the oven apple, cinnamon and sourdough - with fresh whipped cream. It was delicous. Was mortified to find I was there too early the next time I was in Dunkeld.

The location, the restaurant, the staff and the food are all excellent. My partner and I had a truly wonderful Sunday lunch and each dish (cheese souffle, John Dory and blueberry pana cotta) worthy of 10 out of 10. scores. My only concern is that the 25% increase in the price may deter future customers.

We received a discount to play as we were staying at Glen Glack nearby. The course is 9 holes and great for us novices players.

Tried to visit here in July but a local told us it closed after lockdown so don’t go here as there is a very limited choice in Stanley. The Stathord Inn serves good food at an excellent price.

Don’t go anywhere else. This is a busy bistro and café serving simple food which is of the highest quality and delicious. You can also have a glass of wine, beer, teas and coffee and soft drinks. The cakes look good too. It does takeaway. The staff are pleasant and very efficient. It has loos.

Food was great and staff are friendly and cheerful, will visit again

One starter was forgotten . Food ok bit on the pricey side . Ordered puddings but we gave up waiting paid the bill and left not the Sunday lunch we were expecting staff seemed to be under pressure for some reason I t was busy but they seemed to have enough staff

Z’s has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, helped by the log fire on a cold January night. Staff were friendly and helpful. A wide choice of menu and wines. The breaded fish and Thai Curry were delicious. So pleased, we’re going back for more tonight.

Visited here yesterday, had heard about the lovely home made scones & they did not disappoint. Welcoming when we arrived & attentive despite being busy.Excellent coffee. Cherry & apple jam served alongside baked goods which was very tasty & we ended up adding for take away a raspberry & bramble jam, bramble & gooseberry jam(already into that today, also delicious), spiced plum scone & another rock cake. Thanks to Florin, Andra & all the team. We will be back when next holidaying in the area.
