Great service and food selection was of excellent quality. So much to chose from. The variety of choice was excellent and the cooked food was at good temperature. Only wish the toasters in the hotels would toast bit better. First run just slightly brown on second nearly burnt. That would be my only small complaint.

We had the most lovely lunch in here followed by some lovely cocktails. The best one for me was the spicy Bloody Mary made by the very friendly Alvaro who couldnāt have been more helpful to us. Highly recommend the chicken Caesar salad with anchovies and the truffle fries!

Me and my partner went here for brunch first thoughts was it was a lovely place inside but after being seated and another table came we realised that no table was cleared of the last persons plates etc even tho some staff were doing nothing, however we would like to compliment the 2 hardworking young men preparing the food, after we ordered our food arrives and it is not the correct food that was ordered the person who came over with the food went back and brought us the right food whilst stating that we were in the wrong and said āit is your food ā even tho it was a completely different thing, my partner also wanted a scotch egg so ordered the ploughmanās platter that includes a scotch Egg it arrived without and we weren't told they had ran out on ordering it also never came with the cheese it stated on menu

Having been coming to Comrie for around three years now and staying in a family-owned caravan I always like to take a walk down the Main Street and venture into the cafe and Melville restaurant which is part of the Royale Hotel. I love the feel and score of the Melville but unfortunately thatās three dodgy meals the last three times we visited. Previously had a burger which tasted like it had been boiled (weird eh?), then had the best tasting risotto but unfortunately the risotto wasnāt cooked. My most recent visit was some saladsā¦absolutely delicious tasting but one of them seemed to have a good number of what appeared to be dark dog hairs in it. I donāt own dogs and none of my family have dark hair. I spoke to the member of staff in the bar and showed him the issue. He apologised and offered a fresh dish and to take the meal from our bill, he was very nice and handled things well. We were offered a complimentary dessert which was great. One person opted for dessert and mid-eating they discovered yet another dark hair. Took this dessert back and showed the staff member again. Really disappointing and disgusting that this happened. Twice. Bar staff great but not so impressed with the lady who was at reception. I have spoken with her a few times now to book tables etc and find her to be snappy/short. And heard her tell off someone who asked for help as she was too busy. And sorry to have another moan but I really donāt like the new pool table, arcade machine and juke box. Trying to eat your dinner and chat when thereās a couple playing pool and rattling balls around a pool table is not how I want to spend my evening. Donāt think this is the best idea. I really want to love the Melville but Iāve found it disappointing for a while nowā¦.

We visited last night as a big group, 8 adults and 8 children. From when we booked the service was excellent, prompt, friendly replies and we preordered with ease. We arrived and were seated quickly and drinks orders taken. Our waiter was exceptional, nothing was a hassle and he was brilliant with the kids. The food came quickly and again I would say was fantastic. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience overall was excellent. I would 100% return and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

After some confusion about their opening times (check Facebook rather than Google) we popped in on a Friday night to find it nicely busy with a steady flow of locals (always a good sign). The staff were absolutely lovely to two rather bedraggled Englishmen and were happy to chat about this and that (and the commission charged by banks!). We just had the fish & chip supper with peas but would have loved to try some of the other more local foods available. Will most definitely return when next in the area.

We were staying at The Hydro, so decided to take lunch at the clubhouse on one of the days. A nice relaxed atmosphere, very clean, and friendly waiting staff. Itās just the job if you only want a casual snack.

We enjoyed two excellent dinners at the Terrace Restaurant. A special mention for our young server Harry who provided excellent and friendly service he was open he was a recent start but his desire to be the best he could be shone through and he had a very positive personality which made the whole experience very enjoyable. Management take note he is a keeper!

Popped in for a drink as we were staying in another hotel in village . Hotel being renovated just now . Looks like it will be great when finished. Loved history of the place, beautiful grand staircase. We had good chat with barman who let us try their own beer/cider made on site. Hoping to go stay there when renovations are finished.

The cafe has a quirky interior. We stopped for a coffee - was ok but weak for our taste. I also had a cheese and pickle toasty which was very tasty and came with a simple side salad. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We felt the price was a little high.
