Me and my partner went here for brunch first thoughts was it was a lovely place inside but after being seated and another table came we realised that no table was cleared of the last persons plates etc even tho some staff were doing nothing, however we would like to compliment the 2 hardworking young men preparing the food, after we ordered our food arrives and it is not the correct food that was ordered the person who came over with the food went back and brought us the right food whilst stating that we were in the wrong and said “it is your food “ even tho it was a completely different thing, my partner also wanted a scotch egg so ordered the ploughman’s platter that includes a scotch Egg it arrived without and we weren't told they had ran out on ordering it also never came with the cheese it stated on menu

Very disappointed by the cafe at the Crieff Food Company. It really has declined since it was bought over. Very poor service, customers left having waited a long time without having their order taken. Another table returned their main course as it was cold and left without eating the reheated meal. We are still waiting for our toast and had to request milk for our tea. Very understaffed so not the fault of the team on duty. Won’t be returning despite it being local.

Arrived for lunch and waited to be noticed and given a table(strange for a cafe). Approached one of four staff, and told they'd be with us soon. Eventually given a table in half full cafe. We proceded to wait for our order to be taken. Two groups arrived after us and were approached by staff and order taken. All staff members had made eye contact, but no attempt to serve us. At this point we up and left, staff appeared to physically ignore our exit. We live local and us these, and other eating establishments. Service was well below any previous visits, sand what is expected. Procedures and systems need attention, or I won't be the last to comment.

We popped into Crieff Food Company on our visit day in Crieff having wandered around the shops. You wait to be seated which is fine and we’re advised food would be a 15 minuted wait, not a problem. It then took 20 minutes for our order to be taken and another 30 minutes wait for two soups and two sandwiches, delivered without a smile or acknowledge. Such a shame as the soup and sandwich were both delicious and as much as we wanted the amazing cake that was on offer we decided against it. I appreciate it was lunchtime but most of the tables inside were free as well as the ones on the patio area. Seemingly they may need some more staff.

Lacklustre food. Coronation chicken sandwich was tasteless and filled only in the middle. Absolutely inedible potato leek soup which was too salty and clearly just stock and potatoes boiled for hours. In the bottom were little bullets of potatoes that were once whole presumably. Clear the chef doesn’t care and not read a recipe book. Cakes basic and stodgy looking. Just a real disappointment—under new management apparently so a real shame.

Was told would have to wait until 11 30 to heat up a vegan pastry that was sitting on the counter beside the cakes, because that's when lunch was served. This is despite having zero vegan breakfast options and the chef being consulted. Completely inflexible "computer says no" attitude to service and limited choice for our party so we had no option but to leave. Stick to Crieff Hydro hotel.

Stopped here for a spot of lunch whilst on the road. The shop was nice with good produce including alcohol. We picked up sangria and some canned cocktails for our trip, these were great. The cafe was nice and dog friendly. Good selection of herbal tea’s as well as other hot and cold drinks. The group enjoyed both soups (a tomato and a mushroom). My only issue would be that the toastie was quite dry.

We had breakfast here and it was certainly good value for money. However the service was incredibly disorganised. We waited ages to get seated. Although there were 3 members of staff wandering around and one very slowly cleaning a table, not one made eye contact even to say they’d be there in a minute. Eventually, when others started seating themselves, so did we! It took a while for our order to be taken and it just didn’t seem as if there was anyone overseeing the service On the positive side, we loved the shop which had lots of interesting items to buy and a huge selection of unusual foodstuffs.

November 2023. I planned a visit to Crieff to do some festive shopping. I decided on a Tuesday as i assumed it wouldnt be so busy, I'm aware that Crieff is a popular tourist and locals spot. Following purchase of food itemsin the upper food hall, I opted this time to venture downstairs for some lunch. I sat at the table closest to a window, the patio outside looked unkempt and tired. The toilet was shabby looking and could really do with a freshen up in terms of decorating The resturaunt floor itself wasnt the cleanest with remnants ground in food black spots on the floor and the grout work was questionable also. The wall woodwork at the entrance to the toilets could also benefit from freshning up, again, it looks tired. The interior did look somewhat grubby. I ordered soup and a sandwich, goats cheese, roast vegetables and salad. The food arrived very quickly, for some this would be appreciated, however, as the soup was heated in the microwave and the bowl had spillage down the outside it really tainted the experience. The grilled goats cheese in ciabatta was also disappointing, the cheese was not grilled and was super soggy, the roast vegetables were a reheat also. The overall experience was not the best, the price point was average £11.50 but the food and environment were sub standard and can be improved. At payment I did inform the staff member that I would be submitting a review. These comments are left to point out areas which require addressing and can be improved for a better experience. Thank you. Rating: 1 star. The Illustrated Tourist. November 2023

The first time I visited this establishment I ordered a dish which was not on the menu. I could see (from the menu) that they had all the ingredients. They duly brought me what I had asked for. I went back a further two times, and ordered the same dish. No problems. On a subsequent visit I ordered the same dish only to be brought the itemsI had requested, plus three other items I had not asked for. When I pointed this out I was told that " This is what you ordered". The person who brought the food to my table did not seem to want to rectify the situation and was, in my opinion, borderline aggressive. Eventually she , rather reluctantly, brought me the correct dish, ignoring eye contact and saying nothing as she slid the plate accross the table. I did not want to return to this café again, but was persuaded by my partner. On the next visit, whilst placing my order, I mentioned to the young woman attending my table, what had happened on my previous visit and was very specific as to what I did and did not want on my plate. She went to the trouble of reading our order back to us (twice) ensure that she had got it right. When the food arrived it was, as before, adorned with items we had not ordered, and, ( this time) minus some of the things we had ordered. Again, they seemed reluctant to remedy the situation. I will not be returning to The Crieff Food Company.

We can’t review the food, we were not served. We were seated and the same server then proceeded to clear several tables, take menus to other customers whilst telling us ‘I won’t be long’. Another server took orders from people who arrived after us and, if I tell you we completed two full rounds of cards before leaving to go elsewhere - you’ll get the idea. It wasn’t busy; it was disorganised. You need someone keeping track of who is to be served, you need front of house staff with clear roles and who realise customers are more important than clear empty tables. The prices are extortionate and they’re certainly not investing in staff or their training, I imagine the owner drives a lovely Range Rover though.

We went looking for food to munch on in our car and stumbled upon this lovely food hall. Imagine our glee when we went downstairs to find a cosy cafe with desserts on display behind glass, a fun mix of tables, chairs and sofas and table service! The homemade soups are quality and worth the 8 GBP when paired with a focaccia half sandwich and there are endless choices of drinks (teas, coffees, wine, beer, cider, kombuchas) and dreamy baked goods. Adjoining gift shop. Large washrooms. Friendly service. Open daily for breakfast and lunch and beverage breaks. Love it!

We decided to visit the Crieff Food Co, as we are staying in Crieff. We had looked on line and it looked as though they had some lovely things to buy. Especially from the butchery counter. Firstly whilst we were putting our face masks on a girl who worked there was standing just inside the door way. By the time we walked in she had turned her back on us to rearrange the shelf and didn’t even say good morning. There was only us and one other person in there. We then stood looking at the butchers counter. The butcher continued to butcher his meat and didn’t even bother to ask if he could help. We decide that as no one could be bother to ask us if we wanted anything we would leave. It was all over priced (Branston Pickle £3.50) and nothing that the website made it out to be. We then went to Taste of Perthshire where the staff we much more welcoming nd friendly.

Large flavoursome fruit scone served with two portions of butter and lots of raspberry jam. Accompanied by a quality pot of tea. Just exactly what I wanted. Never go anywhere else in Crieff.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. Their sandwiches, salad, mac n cheese and coffees were absolutely wonderful. The food hall upstairs is impressive and certainly well worth a browse. The cakes they bake in house looked absolutely delicious, but unfortunately we were too full from lunch to indulge!

We’ve eaten in the café here on a couple of occasions and it always been ok. We decided to visit today to do a little shopping and have some lunch. There were very few people in and the café was quite cold. The waitress cleaned a table in a booth for us and said “be with you in a minute”. We chose from the menu quickly and waited for her to come back to take the order. She did everything but that. She seemed intent on chatting with two ladies whom she obviously knew and was getting them to taste some wine. They continued to chat - personal stuff not anything to do with the café - and we were just forgotten. After 10 minutes, my husband said he wouldn’t wait any longer and we left.

I called in to the Crieff Food Company as my bus from Perth dropped me just opposite, and it was too early to check into my hotel. What a great find! Th street-level entry is through their deli, with the café and gifts downstairs (or accessed directly from James Square). The cafe is bright and open, tables well-spaced. I had their steak pie with salad - the pies are made in-house and also for sale in the deli upstairs. As I mentioned to one of the staff, it was possibly the best steak pie I’ve had - and this is coming from a country where annual pie contests are taken very seriously. I also had a pretty good coffee - could have been a bit stronger, but good flavour. In trusty, it’s been hard to get a decent coffee in Scotland. I was offered a glass of water after I’d finished lunch - a nice touch.

Visited here for lunch. Ordered leek and potato soup and cheese and ham focaccia bread. My husband also ordered the soup and a baked potato. The soup was meant to come with herby croutons - no croutons. The soup to say the least was very watery. If you had poured it through a tea strainer there would have been no residue. It also lacked seasoning. The focaccia had thinest slice of ham I have seen in a while and there was not much cheese either. To be fair my husband ordered the chilli and cheese baked potato which was good - a proper baked potato. There seemed to be some confusion whether you ordered at the desk or had table service. The young man serving was fine but the young lady seemed easily distracted as she spent half the time unpacking Christmas stock and ignored the cafe.

Heroic work by our waitress! We had such a complicated order and she didn't even write it down and it was totally correct and totally DELICIOUS! Place is dog friendly which was a real treat too.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt as though we were in good hands. The staff were so accommodating and friendly and the food was really well presented and served to us. The cakes were out of this world. We had a Victoria sponge and a lemon drizzle and they were huge slices and full of flavour! The coffee was so good that I ordered another! What a great assortment of things for sale too. I’m very impressed!

The food shop is worth a visit on it's own. The range, and quality, of produce on sale is impressive. We didn't have time to eat on this occasion, but just enough time to shop for food while travelling through. We live just too far away to be regulars, but would never visit Crieff without calling here.

Crieff has seen better days, like so many of these towns, but this place surely matches the past glories.Superb food shop, and butchers on the upper floor, with a wonderful cafe on the lower. Beautiful, locally sourced food matched by excellent service. Both parts of the operation are worthy of support; you will not be disappointed.

We were with family in Crieff for the week 5-9th August and dined here three times, once for breakfast and twice for lunch plus buying food to take back and cook. All were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Macaroni cheese lunches. Service excellent and it’s Dog Friendly.

We were looking for a place with outside seating as it was a nice day, and we managed to get parked right across from this place which is right in the centre of Crieff.

Went in with my girlfriend for two takeaway coffees on the 7th July. Apart from it being overpriced, the staff were rude, moody and extremely unhelpful. When we asked for white sugar the reply was "sigh" which was a reccuring theme. and we were given brown sugar as the only option. We went home and used our own. Thinking this was a one off, we went again on the 14th July...it wasn't. Responses and attitudes were exactly the same. We asked a couple sitting next to us to borrow the sugar from their table. Been in hospitality for over 20 years and find thst behaviour a disgrace. Serious re-training in basic hospitality and general manners is necessary. We prefer to go to Delivino's down the street. Great coffee, great price and great staff!

Almost 5 pounds for a cappuccino for which no order has been taken at first, for which you then have to wait more than 20 minutes, with a spoon and sugar missing and, as a highlight, a 10% service fee appears on the bill? As beautiful as it is in Gleneagles - unfortunately we didn't like it at all...

We were enjoying a nice drink in the beer garden one sunny afternoon, when a youth started shouting & swearing at us because we were English (which was funny in itself because none of us are 100% English). The locals were appalled at his behaviour & the landlord immediately ejected him, however, it cast a shadow on our visit.

Went for lunch yesterday with my parents and dog on arrival our table was clearly marked ours and there was already a bowl of water awaiting my dog I thought this was super sweet and thoughtful, the waitress we had was brilliant with my wee Jack Russell she gave him a few biscuits and attention he loved it. Service was quick and the food as always was delicious. Lovely warm welcoming place to eat out and we always choose here when we go for lunch. Great menu lots of choice.

I give up, I really do. Have stopped using the restaurant because the food is pretty poor and the staff are surly at best. This morning I wanted to purchase a food item which they have stocked for years. First young girl I asked couldn't understand what I was asking for, second one said they didn't stock it although she has served me in the past and the third one said it had sold out but they might be getting some in in a couple of weeks. Several other local people have mentioned how rude the staff were. Hospitable is not a word you can use for this place and yet years ago it used to be good on all counts.
