We've visited a few times now for both lunch and dinner and have really enjoyed the experience. The food is delicious, the restaurant itself is beautiful, the service has always been very good and the view is spectacular! The restaurant also has a little drinks terrace overlooking the river, which seems to be very popular in the summer. Will definitely be back!

OMG..£1.99 for a small of Vimto...friend had mocha which was tepid and tasted of burnt coffee...strawberry cheesecake looked as if it had been thrown on a plate...won't be back...greedy owners and over priced....even one of the staff looked surprised when I mentioned about the price of the drink...
One to avoid, the waiting stqff are helpful and polite but the food was dreadful. An ambitious menu v poorly executed. The place looks tired and no longer loved.

Since the new owners have taken over the quality of the food served here is exception. We have ordered a few times now and all food is freshly made and tastes superb. The servers are always polite, prompt and well presented. There is delivery available and they now take card as well as cash. Free Council carpark outside.
Stopped by today hoping for a late lunch after walking from Aberdour. After realising that only coffees/teas and cakes were on offer, we swithered on whether to stay or find somewhere else for lunch.
Glad to say we stayed and shared the best yum-yum and pistachio and lemon blondie (the latter being out of this world!). Lovely cups of tea to wash it down.
The staff were friendly, cheery and helpful.
Fabulous coffee .. with amazingly tasty brunches of Bombay eggs on bagels and a poached eggs on sourdough toast .. great service .. good location .. (bit cool on a cold day, but guessing it’s an expensive place to keep warm) .. one little pet dislike .. cold plates with hot food .. ok (ish) with the toasted bagel Bombay eggs, but poached eggs on toast would be better on warm plates … other than that it would have been a 5/5 🌟 …
We had booked ahead for the "National Pie Week" special offer: we would have preferred to go for dinner, but no tables were available then, so we opted for lunch.
We arrived a little early, but received a pleasant welcome and were shown to our table in the small restaurant, which was about half full. To get my little gripes out of the way first: service was initially a bit patchy, with one person trying to deal with all of the tables, so we waited a while before we were able to order drinks, then we were told that we would soon be shown the specials board, but when another server appeared to take our order we still hadn't seen it; and, despite having ordered the beef & ale pie in advance, we were told it would be put in the oven once we had pointed out that it was ordered, and told that it takes 45 minutes to bake, so we were served our pre-ordered main course one hour after we arrived. I understand that it may be too risky to put the pie in the oven before we have turned up, but it could have been put in as soon as we "checked in".
Since this was lunch, we hadn't planned to have a starter, but realising it was going to be a while until our main, I opted for a starter from the specials board, of mussels in a curry dressing, on sourdough bread, which was delicious, and we had some bread (again, sourdough: some nice fresh, cruchy-crusted white bread would have been nice!).
When our main did come, it was very good. One large pie between two, with accompanying greens. The suet pastry was crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, with a heavy hard crust, and the pie was well-fulled with tender meat and lovely gravy. It was a generous portion for two, and would be good value at normal prices, so it was a bargain at the special offer price.
To finish off, we shared a Rhubarb Pavlova, which was again a generous portion and very tasty.
There is a good selection of drinks, including draught beers and low/zero-alcohol beers, and a good wine list with options for ordering by the glass. carafe or bottle.
Although the staff were busy, they were cheerful, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a pleasant area and it had a nice, quiet atmosphere, with unobtrusive background music. We hope to go back, but maybe next time we will order something with a shorter delivery time!
