Valentino's Kirkcaldy in Fife

Having just moved to Dysart yesterday, my partner and I decided to order a takeaway after a long and stressful day of moving. Having typed in the postcode into just eat, our address pops up automatically, so of course I have selected our address and proceeded with the order as normal - the same way I have done for years. For reference, we are in High Street in Dysart, not Kirkcaldy, but a quick glance at the postcode would tell you that anyway. A friend of mine was a courier in his previous job and he has confirmed that the restaurant should have double checked the postcode, considering there is a high street in Kirkcaldy and in Dysart, to distinguish the correct address. Anyway, after about an hour of placing the order, I received a phone call from the delivery driver asking where I was, so I told him. The attitude I got from him was unbelievable. He told me that he had been walking up and down the high street in Kirkcaldy for 15 minutes, and that I had put the address in incorrectly when placing the order. Whilst on the phone, I brought up my email confirmation which clearly stated the CORRECT address and postcode, but the driver was adamant that I had given an incorrect address. Initially, after the confusion, the guy said he would come and deliver it to us, but then proceeded to give me a lecture about how I was in the wrong and that I gave an incorrect address etc despite having MY address staring at me on my email confirmation of the order. What has happened here is he has not checked the postcode and tried to shift the blame for his mistake. After lecture upon lecture, admittedly I did tell him to ram it and just take the food back. After I hung up, I phoned the restaurant straight away to discuss what had happened. Had the driver just owned up to his mistake, or even just let it be after we sorted out the confusion, all of this could have been avoided, but I suppose you can't reason with stubbornness. Whoever it was I spoke to at the restaurant was even worse than the delivery driver! He insisted that he's been in the business for 20 years and there's no possible way that they could have made a mistake, and that clearly I was in the wrong. If you have been in the business that long (and have regular customers from Dysart as you stated about 40 times on the phone), then surely you would know there's 2 streets called "high street" within a short distance from eachother and maybe it would have been wise to check the postcode to distinguish where we were? I've barely been in the property 20 hours, never mind years, and have next to no knowledge of the area but even I could tell you that. Every time I mentioned checking the postcode to the driver and the guy i spoke to at the restaurant, it was pretty clear by the stuttering and almost deafening, albeit brief, silence that they knew a mistake had been made on their end, but there was no effort to admit to it. I'm not perfect in my job, nobody is and nobody knows everything, but at least if I make a mistake I own up to it and try my best to rectify it. Instead, I was lectured again on how they never make a mistake and after telling him I was going to be demanding a full refund and ordering elsewhere, he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that I no longer wanted the food (which would have more than likely been stone cold by the time we actually got it) and that I was far from impressed by their customer service. After telling him I no longer wanted their food and that they haven't exactly made a good impression on my first night in the area (and trying out new takeaways), all I got was a sob story about how the food was freshly made, that the delivery driver only said he had been walking around for 15 mins in the cold and rain in the heat of the moment and that I should just take the food and be grateful for it! Honestly, having not even been in the area 24 hours, it's absolutely shocking that we've already found somewhere that clearly lacks accountability in their mistakes and offers such a poor level of customer service.

Very disappointing meal was cold and cheese in burger was not there it was just a burger not very happy with this service

Had the best fish supper I've had in years great value for money. The delivery driver was very friendly and polite

Think the cooking oil can do with a change fish rather greasy+chips

Use this chip shop regularly and get the food delivered. Most times the app says around 35 - 55mins till arrival but most times its quicker. Tonight i ordered white pudding, fritters😋, smoked sausage and mushy peas.... and somehow it was delivered by a very polite young man in just 20minutes!! All perfectly cooked and presented and nice and warm. Can't say better than that, can you?! Im sure, like anyone else, they can have an off day but in my experience this is a really good place to go for takeaway food...... I would highly recommended them!

Great chippy and a lot better than others in the area. Had a pizza last time and it was more like an authentic italian pizza than a normal takeaway which was a surprise. Will definately get another

Burger and roll were burnt . Did replace but then tasted of dirty grease from the grill . Used to be a great chippy . Sadly not anymore . Would not order from here

Pizza Valentino and added black olives my go to . As 'local' takeaway, takes a bit of beating.

Shocking service tonight ..ordered through just eat ...was told 1hr 15 mins for delivery...waited over two hours ...phoned twice to be told both times that its on its way for it to not appear..I stay five min drive away.. ...so aswell as taking orders that u can't deliver when u say u can u are lying to customers... And of course when it came chips,fish and haggis pudding were only just warm and were soggy and wet from basically steaming away in the boxes as no doubt the driver did multiple drops before mine... Terrible way to treat your customers

Always said this is best chippy in kirkcaldy by a mile, good value for money. There fish cakes are amazing 😋 Could do with investing in a card reader though.

Excellent food. Pizzas suppers and kebabs all great. Slightly more expensive than other places but you can't put a price on quality. Highly recommended 5 star

Typed post code into just eat and they came up so ordered food. Said it would be an hour to be delivered which isn't ideal but fine. Half an hour passed and we got a notification on our monzo account to say the money had been returned and the order cancelled. Called the shop and he said he doesn't deliver to our postcode yet he allows it to be within the radius on just eat. No phone call to explain this to us he just cancelled the order. Having to order elsewhere which is now going to be another hour on top of what we've already waited

I can't comment on delivery time as I always order in store which is immaculately clean but food is served very quickly and it is always great.

Ordered food at 17.45 and was told it would be delivered by 19.20 which seemed a long time. However i called back at 19.45pm as it had been 2 hrs n i hadnt had a just eat email to say it was on its way like usual. It took over 10 calls to get an answer. I was updated and told my calzone was being prepared and would be in the oven soon. I asked them to cancel my order as it had been over 2 hrs already. The guy was rude and hung up with no resolve or appology. This was the 3rd incedent here so i will never use them again.

This shop is absolutely spotless. Food excellent. Would highly recommend this to anybody.

Used to love ordering here, but two nights ago they forget chicken in my pasta - but still charge me for it & no apology & tonight, been waiting 90mins so far(still not here)!!!! Phoned up there just now & just got a sullen reply of "yup it's left". No Sorry, nothing. I asked incredulously if that was it & got an even worse "yup". What a joke! Why offer a delivery service & employ staff to talk to the public - who pay all your wages mightI add, just to be rude & indifferent??? Will be the last time I order here!

Quality of the food is good but portion size is a joke asked for a supper, I've seen larger kids meals from McDonalds

Really good chippy. High quality, well made, fresh pizzas. Kebabs and other stuff available too. Everything is fresh, place is clean and staff are really professional. Big car park. Look for some good street art just down the block too.

Absolutely stinking. .. soggy half cooked chips. Soggy Spicy Haggis . Soggy White Puddings .Soggy Cheez crunchy ... And yet you want top dollar for stinking soggy food Go buy a real supper from a real chippy like Ranaldis . .

The food from Valentino's is consistently excellent, and i definitely recommend this traditional chippy.
