Title: Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price I recently visited this establishment for a birthday celebration, expecting an upscale dining experience, but sadly, it fell far short of expectations. The food was the biggest disappointment. The steak was tough and riddled with nerves, making it almost inedible. The pasta was undercooked and too hard to enjoy. Most of the food ended up being left on our plates, which says a lot about its quality. While the ambiance gave the impression of a nice, upmarket venue suitable for a special occasion, the quality of the food and service simply did not match the high price point. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. It is far too expensive for what’s on offer. A regrettable choice for what was meant to be a memorable celebration.

The decor is lovely, no doubt about it. Sensitive to the surroundings, with gorgeous wood design reflecting the nearby river and astonishing views of the bridges. Sadly the good stuff stops there. Service was perfectly fine. Just fine. We mentioned multiple times that it was a birthday, but no extra effort was made to make the principal to feel special. The food was certainly disappointing. The tortellini was undercooked. The steaks were poor quality; mostly fat and not properly rendered. The chicken breast was tiny; a carrot and half a parsnip with a miniscule bit of potato for nearly £19 is a rip off. Overall, we've left with a poor taste in our mouths and would not recommend this place at all.

Wow!! We had a meal tonight and it was fabulous! The new menu is excellent and the service was impeccable. Thoroughly recommend

I went there for afternoon tea, which was lovely and very affordable (£17pp). The food and drink was great, although the restaurant felt a bit deserted (only 4 other people in a big restaurant). Can't fault the staff, and all produce was fresh and good quality. Highly recommend!

Great place for lunch. Good choice, quality good, helpful friendly staff. And the view, over the forth bridge, is epic.

Delicious fresh food. Must book before hand as tables were full. Enjoyed a salad and a dessert. Service was a bit slow but they were busy. Enjoyed visit.

Burgers & fish & chips were eaten. All extremely tasty. Fish was huge, could have fed 3 but so tasty, light sweet flesh & flavoursome. Server's were all great. Wasn't busy 1pm booking for lunch. As an hotel restaurant mid week it was quiet, beautiful room but just lacking in ambience.

My recent visit to Tree Tree by Hilton was, unfortunately, a disappointing experience. Despite its upscale branding and promising menu, the overall experience left much to be desired. The food quality was below average, The cocktail was basic and didn’t taste any alcohol, especially considering the high prices. A supposedly medium-rare steak was overcooked and lacked flavor, indicating a lack of expertise in the kitchen. Other dishes we tried were similarly underwhelming, both in taste and presentation. The waitstaff appeared inexperienced, struggling with basic tasks and displaying a lack of training. Mistakes in orders and a general inattentiveness further detracted from the dining experience. Overall, Tree Tree by Hilton did not live up to expectations and failed to justify its premium pricing. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my recent visit.

I recently had the misfortune of dining at this restaurant, and it was a disaster from start to finish. The prices are insanely high for what they offer – it’s a total rip-off. The staff are completely incompetent. Our waitress was nice enough, but that’s where the positives end. She clearly had no idea what she was doing. The food was an absolute joke. I ordered a medium-rare steak, and it came out wrong not once, but twice. How hard is it to get a simple steak right? And to top it all off, the bill for four people was nearly £200. For what? Terrible service and badly cooked food? This place is a joke and a waste of money. I won’t be going back, and I suggest you don’t either.

Enjoyed a stunning meal. Fantastically cooked 3 courses, superb friendly service, not pushy at all. Great ambience.

This place is beautiful, the views are fantastic and so is the food, we were well looked after by the staff

Tables were very dirty. Was sat down and asked if I wanted a drink - asked what beer they had and they only listed largers, so I ask to confirm they only had largers, and the guy confirmed it. Then saw people drinking guineas and ipas, so I asked a waitress and was told they had non-larger beers.... All customers around me received their food before me and I was a table of one. The server I ended up with, Zoe, was very good, so it is hard to leave a bad review on the service,

Fabulous location and great food

Food was amazing, prices are what you'd expect for a hotel (around £20 per main course, £5.50 for a pint). Views were really nice looking up to the Queensferry Crossing. Service was excellent too.

Eaten in The Shore Grill & Fish House several times, always enjoyed the food and it has a great view of the bridge. Last week had an excellent duck breast in orange and cherry sauce 😋😋

Beautiful overlooks of the bay. Be aware that it is a limited sandwich menu from 3pm-5pm, however the options were superb. Very friendly staff.

I ate here for a week, staying in the same hotel [two trees by hilton] Fish and chips were great, steak was pretty bland, prawn cocktail was terrible! No bread and the tiniest of prawns. Sensational views over the new forth road bridge

Excellent food with great portion sizes and high-quality ingredients. The customer service was excellent, very friendly staff. Great atmosphere in the bar in the evenings. Would eat here again.

The food was lovely and can't complain about the quality of the food. The menu seemed quite reduced to what was on the website as well. The service was quite slow, I understand we were a big group but there seemed to be few service staff standing around. We had to ask for quite a lot of things, would have had a pudding but took too long to order. Very diligent as regards to dietary requirements.

My wife and i went here on Saturday night and were met by a super efficent front of house girl who showed to a lovley booth and both had the mussles for a starter and king prawn salads to follow both were delicious the rest of the service was as professional and of course fantastic views as the night drew in.

Went in Saturday at 12 and restaurant nearly empty. Ordered meal which was very tasty but service from kitchen little slow. Our waitress Sarah was a lovely lass. Very pleasant and friendly whilst remaining professional. Mum had fish and chips and I had Spicy Bean Burger. Price quite high for location. Would have taken some more photos but could only see Queensferry Crossing but car park and dots on restaurant glass didn't quite get effect. No complaints, just little snips of honest review 👌

Food is pretty good honestly but definitely over priced. Not much else to expect from a hotel restaurant to be fair. The portions are good and filling—I had the Hungarian goulash and duck breast donburi. The donburi is a tad flavorless I would not really recommend it. Goulash was good.

Average food was expecting more. Everything we ordered did not really taste anything needed to add lots of salt and pepper. Service was ok but not super friendly. I would not go again.

The customer facing staff were very professional and welcoming and would not be out of place in the highest quality restaurant. The location and surroundings were first class. The food, was dreadful. My wife and I had the smoked haddock and potato pie with broccoli and cabbage which was served each in a bowl and made the veg very difficult to cut and eat, in hindsight im not sure if we were supposed to coup the food onto whatever plate was underneath, which would beg the question do we have to plate up our own meals?. Both the veg and the dish itself had not been salted when cooked and no amount of seasoning by us could salvage any flavour. The food was completely tasteless which made it not only unpleasant to eat but difficult to throw over our necks. Our Guests had the salmon with Thai pad noodles, they looked like the had a similar experience and one of our guests couldn't come close to eating the dish and offered it to her husband who refused to eat it, both being highly unusual responses to food by them, they made no comment about how nice the meal was, again highly unusual. My wife and I left embarrassed, that our guests appeared disappointed and we wanted it to be a special meal on their last night before returning to America. We chose this restaurant because our guests love seafood. Yet we had bought them a fish supper from a local chippie for £21 and they went on and on about how good it was but our experience with the shore restaurant was awkward and embarrasing. Our table was also unclean, it had unusual grooves along the length of it which inevitably had dirt and debris trapped in it and would probably need a special router bit to clean properly. It was also very cold in the restaurant, we couldnt wait to get the bill to get out of there. With a few minor changes this could be an amazing place to eat.

I haven't stayed but I had dinner at the restaurant. The gentleman who served us was very kind and polite. I can't spell his name but started with P (Proyat?). He wears glasses. He went above and beyond. Very hard working. The food was very tasty and overall experience was pretty good. I would definitely come back :)

Mediocre pub food at premium prices. Seriously un-tasty haggis starter, equally taste-less haddock main, with chips worse than you could get in a weatherspoons (and one of which was raw). View of the modern suspension bridges was nice. Staff were pleasant enough.

Lovely view, good food, good service

There were 7 of us, we turned up at hock. The staff were fabulous. In minutes they had a table set for us with our disabled member.

We stayed here last August 2021 just as Scotland was coming out of lockdown. They were evidently struggling back then with staff levels and getting product in through the supply chain. A year later we were took a gamble and stayed again and dined at the restaurant. I'm delighted to say the service was first class and the food absolutely fantastic. With an amazing view to take in as well, I'd heartily recommend here.

Popped in for quick lunch. Delighted to get tasty gluten free chips and salad. Mushroom truffle soup was gf too. Hubby had vegan jackfruit burger. Waitress well trained in allergies.

Spent a really nice afternoon with friends yesterday. The food and service was great, although it was sometimes difficult to attract attention when our drinks needed replenished. The only real citicism and the reason for the three star review is, the grooves in the table top were full of crumbs and debris and the seats were very badly marked.

Not the best, not the worst. over priced

Got there at 2.20, lunch finished at 2.15, so had to settle for sandwich, which was nice, but wanted hot food. Service was ok, lovely view across the forth in the sunshine.

Very handy for the bridges. Fish was excellent. Huge portions. Did not realise it was inside the Hilton Doubletree. Easy to find.

Not my best experience. Roast beef sandwich couldn't come with horseradish sauce. Beef was processed, not fresh roast beef. Coffee came late and was cold. Did get another. But altogether disappointing. My Granddaughter has a wedding booked here next year. You need to up your game considerably.

Fantastic dinner! Absolutely delicious food, lovely service. There was at least 2 events on that evening, as well as a very full restaurant, and the food was still served promptly without any errors. Cannot wait to return, a highlight of our time away.

Stayed in DoubleTrer for 17 days and had amost all my meals here. Excellent service and very friendly staffs. Grill Ribeye is good, however it was slighly dry for medium done. Should have asked for medium rare. The shore Harddock Supper is one of the must try.
