Lupo's Italiano in Fife

One to avoid, the waiting stqff are helpful and polite but the food was dreadful. An ambitious menu v poorly executed. The place looks tired and no longer loved.

We booked two weeks ahead for my daughter's birthday, they cancelled a week ahead, difficult to book elsewhere. Not impressed.

We were in St. Andrews for a couples golf trip and had dinner each night at different restaurants and Lupo's was the best by far in town. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. A must anyone visiting St. Andrews when you don't want another Fish and Chips meal.

This is a great place for a quiet couples dinner. Lovely menu with some options for me as a vegan. We both had bruschetta to start, I had a lovely vegan pasta and my husband had a chicken pasta. Excellent spicy margarita made by the lovely barman Aiden. Service was really attentive, with friendly but not too intrusive staff. Aiden in particular was fantastic. Overall a great experience and good value for money, which is a rare find in St Andrews.

Wonderful venue for granddaughters 21st birthday party. The room was perfect with the lovely wolf mural. We pre-ordered our meals and everyone agreed they were all beautifully cooked and delicious. Local seafood pasta amazing. Service was excellent and very accommodating. Good cocktail menu. Will definitely be back.

The food was ok, the kitchen managed a small modification to my fish dish very well, and my veggie and vegan friends had some good options and seemed happy. Service was friendly but a bit slow. We then felt pressured to leave during coffees/dessert because there were few other customers and the staff clearly wanted to go home Anyone with restricted mobility should be aware there are steps up to the first floor dining area and also steps down to the women’s loos. The loos were not clean or properly supplied with toilet paper.

Located on North Street, next to the cinema, Lupo's is a lovely Italian style restaurant. The restaurant does not look like much from street level and could easily be missed. However if you venture up the stairs you will be impressed by the beautiful decor inside, and the warm greeting by the front of house team. There is a bar area with a good selection of cocktails and spirits for a pre-dinner drink. We both went for a Raspberry bramble,but if cocktails aren't your thing, there's beers, ciders and soft drinks available. The main menu offers something for everyone, with a good selection of grilled , pasta and pizza dishes. The menu is not over extensive like some chains, and dues change weekly. Our Italian style flat iron steaks were cooked just how we wanted them. Would definitely return.

Outstanding service from start to finish. Serving staff were excellent, so friendly & super accommodating. The food was amazing, second to none. High praise to the very talented chef Mark. Thank you all for an amazing experience & cannot wait to return.

Celebrated finishing our exams together with classmates. Lupo's offers up a beautiful location, the food was excellent, and so was the service. Would recommend for smaller and bigger occasions!

An absolutely terrific night! Our server Christian was beyond charming and helpful. The food was exceptional and unique, especially the hake rarebit. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious cocktails and an overall 10/10 night! Would 100% go again!

Lovely food, although over priced. Waiters are lacking experience and training. Food was really nice and well presented, although one main had to be sent back as was luke warm. Lost interest, paid the bill and left. Restaurant needs a good clean - dead flies on windowsill that we were sat at which freaked my girlfriend out! This restaurant has so much potential as these things are easy to correct. The interior is lovely but these things spoiled the dinner. This cannot happen in St Andrews as the competition is fierce; we will not be returning again soon as there are plenty of better options to be had.

Great service, very welcoming staff (particularly from the manager - Christian? at the beginning and then I believe it was Lola who served us) and delicious food! Really lovely cocktails too and great vibe with some fun decor. We were quite a big table group but they managed to bring all our food out at the same time and were accommodating with different dietary requirements. Overall, a very enjoyable experience - would recommend!

The lamb ragu is unbelievable at this Italian restaurant. The interior decor is lovely, however the table we were sat at seemed to be crammed in as was bunched between two large parties. The atmosphere and lighting is very ambient. The highlight for sure is the beautiful food that they prepare. Nicest dish I've had at an Italians for a long time. Service was good as we were moved when requested from the crammed table. Never a fan of a discretionary service charge added to bill in case service is poor ser, but tip was well earned in this case. Only niggle being that draught beers were not available.

Booked a table on Friday 10th November at the Rav. Got a call a week before to say could we go to Lupos instead of the Rav because it had closed. Offered a round of drinks by way of compensation, happily agreed. Got a voicemail last night (Wednesday) to say our ( birthday celebration) table had been cancelled tomorrow as the restaurant was holding a private function. Now trying to find somewhere nice to go with no notice. We are not local so it is very difficult. Really disappointed.

Our third or fourth visit to this wonderful restaurant. Food once again spot on - great flavours and an interesting menu to choose from. Very relaxed evening too, and so much great art on the walls. What really makes the experience though is the staff. Friendly, professional, funny and genuinely appear glad that you are there with them. If you are in St Andrews and like Italian food this is the place to go to.

Lubna was fantastic! Incredible customer service. Very friendly and chatty but still professional. Her cocktail making abilities are exceptional. Would definitely come back again.

The food was delicious and so fresh. Every bite was a treat! Our server, Janvi, was there right when we needed her too. Overall a really nice evening!

Had booked the Rav for dinner but got a call saying they'd staffing problems, couldn't open, but could give us a table at Lupo, their sister restaurant. Fine. Arrived at Lupo, warm welcome, nice table in a pretty setting, with loads of space between the tables (unusual for St A!). A fair delay till menus arrived, a further delay until someone came to take orders, so we asked if we could order drinks first. Fine, but.... No cold beer. None. Neither on tap nor bottles. It turned out they'd just opened for the first time for three months (?!) and it was a bit chaotic. We feared the worst. However, the service was charming, alternative drinks (not beer!) arrived and were good - nice cocktail, which used ice, but no-one could find a tub to put some beer bottles in?? - and the mains of pizza x 2 and one lamb ragu papardelle were absolutely delicious. Both pizzas were huge and neither could be finished! Price was fine too. Generally, reasonable value for money and good staff. All in all, it turned out to be a pleasant evening with good food and nice service. We'd go back.

The décor is inviting and the staff pleasant, however it needs a good clean. The menu is very limited for an Italian restaurant, only about 5 choices on main, but they do have a few pizzas. The olives were great. Mains were poor really so we did not have a desert. Went elsewhere! We will not revisit next time in St Andrews as it was very disappointing.

Bought a voucher as a gift for family members. Unfortunately the couple were not able to use it within the six months due to working abroad. We were hoping to be given some extra time to use it. Have phoned and emailed several times and have never had any reply. Is this place still in business?

This much anticipated dinner based on the reviews was meh at best. We ordered a bottle of wine and had appetizers. It’s been a week and I can’t remember exactly what mine was… soup I think. The other was bruschetta which was okay. The restaurant is physically lovely to look at. However, the rest was just food. Never ordered a main course! Went somewhere else for dessert.

Had a reservation for dinner. Ordered a nice bottle of Nebbiolo that we enjoyed but food was okay at best. Started with soup. Bruschetta, and Lamb pasta and all were very uninspiring. Server had told us we needed to order our entire meal upfront but we insisted we wanted to wait to order main course. Decided to leave after starters and call it a night.

We were in St Andrews for an overnight trip and to celebrate a wedding anniversary and wanted a venue near our hotel. Booked a table online. Lovely decor and very friendly staff. We had a nice cosy table and the waiter very kindly gave us both a glass of fizz to celebrate which was on the house. We both ordered the brusheta to start which was fresh and tasty. we both had different vegetarian pasta dishes although we aren't vegetarian. Both were very tasty and full of flavour. portions were nice too not too big but just enough. We also had a side of parmasen fries which were great. Waiter did ask us if we had any allergies or dietary needs before taking our order and was very helpful with guiding us in our menu choices and recommending a few favourites. I had tiriamisu to finish which was also very good. My wife had a glass of Malbec which was lovely overall cost was £75 pounds. Atmosphere was very relaxed and not rushed .Would happily return.

What a great spot for real authentic, with a Scottish twist, delicious food. Great Bruschetta to start, pasta with lamb ragu, veg soup and chicken Milanese all superior taste. Best tiramisu we’ve ever had and we’re from New York! Lovely staff and nice bar and wine selections.

Excellent establishment. Simple menu- you go in and you order. None of this 5 page long menu with a lot of customisation. The only thing you customise is the steak - “how would you like it cooked?” they ask, “medium,” I respond. They know what they’re doing and they do it well. The staff either humble students or humble scotsmen. Both charming, both doing their job with honour. My upmost respect and gratitude, would recommend.

I went on a trip to Lupo's with my family and could not recommend the experience enough. It had a fantastic ambience and we loved the natural decor. The servers were all very helpful, and we were particularly charmed by our drinks server Christian who guided us through their cocktail list. Would highly recommend their seasonal pasta dish, and will be coming back again!
