La Gondola in Fife

Had a really good experience here today. Probably my new favourite restaurant in Kirkcaldy. 100% the best Italian in the area. Food was fresh and tasty and the service was good. Would 100% reccomend.

Went in today for lunch with the family, lovely food, even better people. Highly recommended. Definitely worth the drive.

A great Italian restaurant! Super nice and attentive service. The food was excellent from starters to dessert. If we're in the area again we definitely have to eat here again.

Unfortunately, after being hit by Covid, not every italian restaurants was strong enough to cope with this. On top of that, some ingredients imported from Italy became even more expensive than it was. By the way, this is not an excusal to serve poor quality food. I've ordered fried calamari as starter and I must say it was the worst I've ever had in 30+ years. The batter was almost white/pale yellow, probably chucked in the deep frier for 60 seconds, no flavour at all. I thought that even Aldi/Lidl calamari could be better than this. Main course was a bit watery and very bland. And then we headed home a bit sad. Sorry guys, we were used to come here years ago, but after the last experience we prefer sticking to somewhere else.

A bit noisy but good restaurant with lots of locals.

Literally never left a review in my life but I’m so resentful of how I was treated tonight. I questioned something on the bill and the manager came across to the table in an extremely confrontational, argumentative style. My 5 year old even went ‘mummy, that man was very rude’. I was genuinely in shock as I have worked in hospitality for many years when I was younger and couldn’t have contemplated speaking to a customer like this. Have been regular customers but won’t be back. Even heard the man speaking about me in the kitchen as I was paying my bill on the way out! Really disappointed but you get good service at Giovannis and Pane e Vino, so we’ll have to make these our regular Italians now.

Haven’t been to La Gondola for a few years. Visited with a friend Wednesday the 12th of June and had a fantastic evening. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. The atmosphere in the dining area is lovely. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to return in the near future.

Nach 12 Tagen Rundreise durch die high und low lands finally endlich mal ein sehr guter Italiener. Absolut zu empfehlen, gut ausgebucht, waren an einem Samstagabend dort. Neue Inneneinrichtung, saubere Toiletten und leckeres Essen.

Dinner for mothers day. Menu had something for most people well served abs presented. Pleasant staff members who all appeared to be happy working I'm this establishment. Will be back.

Choice on the menu and the specials was excellent. The quality of the food was good considering the social climate we find out selves in. It must be hard to keep quality good and costs down. Service was great, food came out quick. We were in at 530 so was quiet but there was quite a chill coming from the front door, despite the new double glazing in place. We would go back but feel there are other Italian restaurants in fife who offer more authentic Italian cuisine.

Risotto watery waited 25 mins for sweet menu. Toilets disgusting. Hand towel paper all over floor and on wet floor round urinals . Stuck to shoes on way out . Just hope hygiene in kitchen is better ! Why can’t 2 girls on reception look at tables and help instead of standing with their backs to customers . Very poor dining experience.

Everything was great from booking to entering and ordering food. Staff were attentive and interacted well with our small group. The food was delicious and it was 4 different choices for mains. Great service and all done by very busy staff who still smiled all the time.

Fantastic food as always. Smashing service and a great atmosphere. Salmone tagliatelle was amazing as was the coppa al amareno? Cherry dessrt.

Shocking service, when we arrived with my 10 year old son who is in a wheelchair we were asked if we told them there was a wheelchair coming and after saying no they said theirs only 1 table for us then which was right at the front door which was cold throughout with people coming and going. The rude manager who was then mouthing off due to her staff making a mistake with the drinks order was a joke and if my taxi had still been outside we would have left. Food was then bland with no taste and tried to flavour it with salt and pepper, so all and all a complete waste of money and effort with no draft beer available. You use to be guaranteed a good meal here but now just bland overpriced crap.

The food was fantastic, with great portion sizes. The ladies serving were super friendly and on point. However, it got super super loud very quickly as it is a busy small restaurant, which made it less enjoyable as we couldn't hear one another, but we did go during peak time on a Saturday. So, I would still recommend.

Been in tonight to be faced with a rude manager who took the huff after being asked to move us table so we weren’t sitting near the door in the cold. Then when I (with a serious nut allergy) asked for allergy information they said they don’t have any sheets to show us (nor is it on the menu) - despite this being law and instead insisted I “trust them, there’s no nuts….well except for behind the bar but that’s no where near food… except it is near the desserts stuff.” Left immediately, like I get it’s clearly not a big deal for you or your servers but it’s literally life or death for me🤦🏼‍♀️ Absolutely Abysmal.

Booked here last minute.food was great,service was good,but boy we could not hear each other talk,this was a Saturday at 5.30pm possibly quieter through the week but for that reason I wouldn't return as I like to hear what my friends and family are saying with asking them to repeat themselves.

Wir waren in unserem Urlaub im la gondola essen , wichtig das Restaurant ist sehr gut besucht. Wir waren am Samstag Abend dort und haben nur mit Mühe einen Platz bekommen. Reservieren ist wahrscheinlich sinnvoll. Wir hatten eine Ppeperoni Pizza und eine Lasagne zum Essen. Lasagne war sehr gut und absolut zu empfehlen. Die Pizza war leider etwa zu lange im Ofen und etwa schwarz am Boden. Wahrscheinlich Pech gehabt sonst war die Pizza gut

This is a great place for a casual night out that won't break the bank. We have eaten here 3 times and have enjoyed our food and service each time. I wanted something that wasn't on the menu and the owner was happy to oblige. My favourite simple dish of spagetti agio, olio et peperoncino. It was so good. Service with a smile, great food and an Italian in the kitchen. What more could you ask for?

Jedzenie jest tutaj pyszne, nie trzeba było długo na nie czekać. Duży wybór. Jest tu spory ruch. Może być głośno, ale mimo to daję 5 gwiazdek we wszystkich kategoriach. Naprawdę polecam spaghetti bolognese.

We happened upon this wonderful place…. Had no plan but our Italian roots drew us to LaGondola. It did not disappoint…. Elaine and Luca are welcoming and the food is delicious. Went back a second time we enjoyed it so much. The sautéed mushrooms, ravioli, eggplant and pasta dishes are first rate. Thank you for the Limoncello!

This is the second time in a matter of months we have had a meal here. We are a big family, so a party of 10 and we have no problem with receiving the meals we've ordered. The staff, the food and the general atmosphere all make it a great restaurant to have a meal at. The cost is reasonable and is great value. I would highly recommend a visit, and then you'll want to return again and again.

We were looking for somewhere different to eat and decided to try La Gondola in Kirkcaldy. Easy to park close to the door, friendly welcome and friendly waiting staff. The owners lovely and talks to everyone making you feel like part of the family. And the food….amazing!!!!

Food only ok. I had to complain that the Parmesan cheese sprinkled over the top of my daughter’s dish had a hard piece of green mould in it. The waiter returned from the chef trying to assure us that the ‘cheese comes in a hard outer shell and sometimes the harder bits get grated in’!… like we were not able to tell what mould is or how Parmesan cheese is packaged and delivered. Felt ‘fobbed off’ at this. In my mind, if a customer complains and points out mould in food, the dish should be removed and replaced immediately, not argue and try to pass off with an excuse. Anyway we were too tired after a long days driving and don’t want to argue more. Did not even get offered money off meal which my daughter tasted ‘soapy’ as is when Parmesan has slightly’turned’ Too busy and noisy for us to consider returning anyway.

A warm welcome from friendly staff, who paced the service well. The food was delicious and the place was spotless. All this for a reasonable price. We’ll be back!

Hidden away at the far end the prom is this little Italian restaurant. The food is tasty, the staff are friendly and service is fast. Prices are very reasonable. Recommended.

We decided at the last minute that we wanted to eat out, and we ended up here. The super friendly lady managed to get us a table for 4 at 7pm on a Saturday night, therefore the extra star is for her. Be warned, we are 4 Italians... This reviews is going to sting. The food is not Italian. The place is lovely, the staff fantastic and friendly, the food is ok. But not Italian. Italian style, maybe? Italian influence? So we had meatball tagliatelle... Pasta not homemade (that's understandable), overcooked, and very hard meatballs. Tomato sauce out of a can. Melanzane parmigiana. Gosh. Completely wrong recipe. It's ok, but... Sad. Again, tomato sauce not the best, and a massive lack or parmigiano. Deep fried calamari. Rubbery... Frozen? Asparagus were great, best dish!!! Pizza. Ah, why do I keep doing this to myself?!!? It was just greasy bread with the usual tomato sauce on top. Focaccia... As above, but without tomato sauce. Ice cream... Well, it's Scottish. Espresso was good, yaiii! Again, the food is decent and it's obviously targeted to British people, but it's not Italian. Average prices and good portions, good choice of wines.

I have been to La Gondola several times when I have been to visit my daughter and have always found the food to be excellant with good friendly service. However on Saturday I was there with my daughter and our partners to celebrate her birthday and found one member of staff to be very rude. We had just paid our bill leaving a tip and where getting ready to move when a woman came and told us to go as it was now 7:15pm and no longer our table. The next guests had arrived 15 minutes ahead of time which really was not our problem. So hassen to say I won't be going back based on the rudeness of the woman. I have worked in many a busy restuarant before as a manager and would never has been so rude.

We were regulars at La Gondola when we stayed in Kirkcaldy but haven’t been back since before lockdown until last night. The atmosphere, food, wine and staff were all amazing and we won’t leave it so long next time! Can’t wait to come back!

Really nice atmosphere, fresh, modern decor and comfortable and cozy on a cold winter's evening. Great pizza, piping hot and full of toppings. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming back.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Was quite busy when we went so was loud but a great atmosphere. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Even though it was really busy we were served much faster than I’d expected. The food was absolutely incredible, will be going back again for sure.

Very attentive staff, food was good quality and served pretty quickly. Atmosphere let the place down a little for me, but that's just a personal judgement. Too noisy and not as relaxing as I'd hoped for, but certainly not enough to put me off visiting again.

My husband and I are in Kirkcaldy for a week with our two children under 10 years. We live in Cambridge and I work in London and eat out at least twice a week. I can honestly say that this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The food was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, very impressed. One of the best restaurants in Kirkcaldy, or even Fife. Service is always at a very high standard, you see the same workers working there for years, in my opinion that speaks volume about the restaurant and the bosses, obviously workers are treated well. Food is outstanding, always very tasty and a good quality. Menu has a great range of Italian food to choose from. We've been eating at /ordering from LaGondola for years now and I must say it has always been a present experience with delicious meals, polite staff at a price that represents the high standard and quality of the food very well. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Hands down one of the best restaurants in Kirkcaldy. It’s not as cheap as other Italians in the area but the food is delicious and worth paying extra for. The place is always spotlessly clean and the staff are so friendly

Visiting from America, came across LA Gondola as we were walking back to our hotel. Incredible menu with many choices, filling portion sizes with wonderful flavor (we had the dishes of Gnocchi with chorizo,, and Ravioli stuffed with boar, both topped with creany tomato sauce) charming decor, and friendly, personable service. If we lived here, La Gondola would be at least a weekly meal for us!

On Friday, when it was very busy, the staff of La Gondola were courteous, attentive and helpful. We were a relatively large party and were given stellar service. Food was lovely and in temperature. A very good experience. Grazie mille, ci rivedremo!

A group of 4 of us went to La Gondola this evening, for the second time this week as two of us ate on Sunday (7/8/22) and had enjoyed so much. There's a great selection to choose from and the food is delicious. The pasta dishes are very flavourful and traditional. The portions we found generous. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I was pleased to see that the "Specials Board" was different on the second visit. Some places seem to have the same specials listed all the time. I look forward to visiting the next time we are in the area. I highly recommend La Gondola.

Nice food, freshly cooked and piping hot. The melon in our starter was a bit hard though, maybe not quite ripe enough. Service OK and friendly although no-one asked if we needed more drinks, so we had to attract the waitress attention to get more. Not too busy when we were in, but steady flow of customers in and out. Good value for the quality of food and portions good but not too much.

Visited with a friend and was disappointed with the food. The calamari starter was dry and rubbery. The risotto main was so underdone the rice was chewy and almost chalky. Tasty though so a real shame. Good location with nearby parking. Staff very friendly. House...
