7 of us dined here yesterday and we all loved our meals, not a single thing was left on the plates, all dishes were hot and very tasty. The service was also excellent, we will return.

One of the best restaurants in Dunfermline. The range of vegan options is particularly impressive, and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

I still do not know why music has to be played with every meal. The clue is in the food it's Italian. We don't need the music to tell us as well.

A True Italian Gem in Dunfermline Nestled in the charming old part of Dunfermline, Carlucci is a fantastic spot for authentic Italian cuisine. The location adds to the experience, making it a great choice for a cozy and memorable meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we walked in. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality made the visit even more enjoyable. As for the food—absolutely five stars! While I’ve only visited once, what I had was outstanding. From the fresh, homemade bread onward, everything tasted truly authentic and full of rich, traditional flavors. If the rest of the menu is anything like what I experienced, I can only imagine it’s just as impressive. If you're in Dunfermline and craving great Italian food in a lovely setting, Carlucci is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Food was good and delivered on time.

We visited last night to use a gift card that was received for Xmas. First impressions upon entering were that it was very dark, with zero atmosphere. We were shown to a table by a very polite young lady, but that’s where the problems started. Not only was seating area cold, the lighting was so poor that we both had difficulty reading the menu. Dark/black writing on a mid grey background, not a good idea, especially with the poor lighting!! Also, the smell in the restaurant was that of used cooking oil, and not the tempting aroma of freshly cooked food!! We cannot leave a review on the quality of the food, as we decided (for the above reasons) to leave before ordering. Hopefully, our points are taken positively by the owner, as they are very easy to correct, especially the lighting and menu design! All in all, a disappointing visit.

Lovely Italian. Really nice pizza with attention to detail handing good sharp cutting knifes. Sunday night and there were a good few folk in so nice atmosphere and friendly pleasant staff.

Risotto was really nice, although a bit salty. Burgers were undercooked and inedible, with 2 shreds of lettuce and soggy tomatoes, better off (and much cheaper and tastier) at McDonald’s 👎🏻

My delivery driver was the best! Asked to stop to get water for me as the restaurant didn’t sell and I was lodged in an hotel, the agreement was to pay him for the water and his extra services additionally but he let it go. Thank you, driver

I went here with family recently and was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The staff were excellent, very helpful and attentive and really great with my Dad (who is in a wheelchair and hates when people ignore him and ask us to answer for him). They have an extensive vegan menu and everything we had was lovely with good portion sizes. Will definitely return again soon.

Paid £21 for a pizza advertised as 'spicy' - it had no spice. Also took 1hour 15mins to arrive.

Probably some of the worst food I’ve had in a while. My pizza was cold, floppy and slightly undercooked, wasn’t cut properly and couldn’t taste the basil and hardly any puree. But what was truly offensive was the lasagne. Now, I’m not expecting some hidden gem, Italian restaurant in the Naples backstreets, using nonna’s secret recipe but if your going to call yourself Italian going at least try to make somewhat Italian, especially for the prices they charge. It was very microwave meal or cafeteria hot plate level, you know that school dinner taste. Flavourless, what meat there was, was all stuck together, the sauces were bland. 25 quid for a subpar pizza and a a cafeteria lasagne. I don’t think so. What I would actually compared it to but I don’t think people would have believed me or I was being hyperbolic, would be prison food. That’s what it’s genuinely on par with. This reminded me of the lasagne alla Hmp.

Great food, lovely place. Would certainly come again. Kind of wish I'd seen the vegan menu earlier, because I only saw it when we were choosing desserts, and there seems a lot of interesting options there.

Normally really good but the chips were soggy and the sauce for my chicken was watery! Hopefully just a once off as I normally love the food here.

Been here a few times for food and it has always been exceptional! Firstly, you get some complimentary bread sticks with vinegar and olive oil which are so good, the service is great and the staff are lovely! The food is also amazing quality and the restaurant itself has such a cosy atmosphere, perfect for a date night, a catch up, or just because!

Sadly the quality and flavour has drastically decreased. This meal had no flavour. The Carbonara was swimming in grease, the bacon and the sauce bland. The Salmon dish was awful. A tomato sauce which tasted like Heinz tomato soup. Salmon tasteless.

Pizza was cold with hardly any topping, not the quality we normally get from Carlucci’s. Won’t order again

This restaurant was absolutely amazing!!

We were slightly later coming to dine than intended and initially could see concern that we might be pushing it, time-wise. However, after Manager Adrianna had checked in the kitchen, we were admitted and served with excellence and great humour from Carla-Sophia who gave no hint of annoyance that we were such late customers. We skipped the starters, although were presented with a lovely warm bread twist which we could dip into olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Within no time, we had been served our main courses - lasagna for my friend and pollo for me. Mine exceeded my expectations and was utterly delicious, and my friend was very happy with her lasagna. Even before Carla-Sophia enquired whether we might return, it had crossed my mind, even though we don't live in Dunfermline. Somehow, despite feeling relatively full, she made such a good sale of the tiramisu (home made, of course) that we both had it. Again, delicious. Late on a Tuesday evening, it wasn't full, but we didn't expect it to be by that stage. It did though have a convivial atmosphere and we both hope to return. Thank you.

Absolutely terrible time to wait for food and the restaurants constantly changing the delivery times, you wouldn’t order if they say it will take nearly an hour and a half, also the pizza was just warm and half a box of chips, last 2 deliveries have been a disgrace from here and namaste

Decided to eat here after looking at the menu outside. We were on a shopping trip and needed sustenance. Spaghetti Carbonara used to be a favourite of mine but I'd not eaten it for what seemed like ages so chose that from the menu of delights. It was gorgeous and my two dining companions also enjoyed their meals. Nice atmosphere, delicious food, would eat here again.

Delivery v late - no update either, had to call + I asked how long it would be, they advised 'no idea, left ages ago so shouldnt be long' - took 20 mins to arrive. sauce so loose was everywhere - not in dishes. Bashed, dishes/packing soaked in sauce.

The food was absolutely delicious, mushroom risotto bursting with flavour and the carbonara was 'best he'd ever had' The two waitresses couldn't have done enough and were bright and cheery. Great atmosphere. No waiting about for food or drinks and really enjoyed the whole experience.

This is a fabulous restaurant in Dunfermline, staff were amazingly attentive, we were a large party of 16 celebrating a double 21st birthday so lots of orders lots of drinks tons of laughs and amazing food. The staff couldn't have been nicer- even replaced a pint that was knocked over by my nephew and cleaned everything so quickly. A great venue and highly recommended 👌

I’ve had the carbonara twice now and the second time it was very different. The first time it was nice and creamy with lots of flavour the second time there was no cream and just oil there was so much the spaghetti was swimming in it. inconsistent

delivered 30-1 hour late based on delivery time, asked for updated time, they were late with that. Had to call the restaurant to get an update no apology just it would be there soon. When the driver did arrive he called because he couldn't find our address, explained he was outside across the road and my partner was coming out to meet him. To which he drove off and I had to tell him to come back...absolute disgrace of a service we won't be using again!!!

The second called me without saying she was from the restaurant then immediately angrily said ‘the driver is at your door why aren’t you answering’. Popped in on a sunny Friday for lunch. Veal was excellent, perfectly cooked. Nice staff and a relaxed atmosphere. House wine was good quality.

Had a lovely evening tonight at Carlucci's with my partner and his dad. The food was amazing and really hearty, reminded me right of home as an Italian living in Scotland. Our waitress was Carla, she was fantastic and had a lovely vibe and personality that really made our dinner special. We had three courses (starter, main and dessert) and paid a very fair price. All in all, I would recommend Carlucci to everyone (Italian or not)!

We were at Carluccis for a friends upcoming birthday. Atmosphere, food and service amazing. Vegan and vegetarian options the best in any Italian I have been to. We will definately return to the restaurant.

A long-time favorite with consistently delicious food and great value. I've been coming to Carlucci's for years, even back when it was an old workplace of mine. The food has always been fantastic, and it's a great value. They even have gluten-free and vegetarian options! Highly recommended for the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious Italian food! If you ask nicely enough they will also sort out your dessert for on route situations if your in a hurry. Bring your own spoon. It's the personal touches 👌🤣🍨

I did not expect what happened to me in this restaurant... I did not have a table reservation, but the waitress took us to the table, took the order, we were brought what we ordered and then she said that we have a maximum of 20 minutes because the table was reserved... it was very rude!!! I think that right at the entrance she should have simply said: sorry, we have a table reservation, please come later or something like that... then she went there and back every now and then, glancing to see if we had already eaten... I also did not like the fact that the waitress was hitting on my partner in front of me!!!! total lack of professionalism.

The waitresses were amazing, they make sure that we have enough water, never leaving the jug empty. We are vegan and then ensured that the kitchen staff knew immediately and everything that came to our table was checked thoroughly for cross contamination. THe main waitor who served us was very polite and she was dramatic but not in a bad way. Thanks for the great dinner

Italian food was tastiest ever and worth every penny, served by wonderful staff in a great atmosphere.

This is my favourite restaurant in Dunfermline. When I order a delivery normally they are fantastic but tonight it was at least 45 mins late which is just 10 mins off of 2 hours after ordering. I couldn’t relax because all the time I was looking for the driver. When he did arrive, no apology. He just handed me the delivery and walked away as fast as possible. The garlic cheese pizza starter was almost cold so I had to put it in the oven. The gnocchi Was luke warm and getting cold fast.

Popped in without a booking on a Friday but were warmly greeted and seated! Our meals were excellent and served quickly which suited us perfectly as we had to catch a bus home fairly soon. Staff could not have been more friendly so overall a very positive experience. Thanks to all.

We went to Carlucci’s on our last night in Scotland. Dunfermline is a small city and it seemed most places closed the kitchen early. We were seated immediately and were treated like family. I have penne pasta and I can say that I NEVER finish a meal at a restaurant. Today I ate the entire thing! It was the best Penne pasta I have ever eaten. I was blown away by the taste and flavor. We are Hispanic and are used to lots of flavor, so this did not disappoint. Hats off to the chef. We had an awesome waitress that gave us recommendations if we ever go to Italy. I’m so glad this was our last meal in this beautiful country, even though it wasn’t Scottish food lol. If you are in the area, please try them out. Picture of my half eaten plate

My family and I travel often and we believe that we can also get to know a place through its food, but every now and then we like to eat our usual dishes... well at Carlucci's we found traditional food without strange modifications. The minestrone I ate took me back to what my grandmother used to make for me. The spaghetti with meatballs are sublime!! Chiara was perfect, very kind and super professional. If you pass by here you can't help but come and if you eat Italian risotto please don't say you want it to have a porridge consistency 😂. Rice is eaten "al dente" and here you will find it like this. Everything fabulous!!! Highly recommended 😘

A genuinely family run restaurant that looks after their guests. An excellent place to eat, with a wide ranging menu, including many vegan options of classic dishes, plus a very well priced drinks selection plus cocktails too. Dishes nicely presented, good sized portions and lovely flavours and clearly using fresh ingredients. Staff are fantastic, happy to explain dishes and far from a rushed experience. Good location in the town centre also offering a takeaway service of the full menu too, will definitely return any time in Dunfermline and am sure they will continue with the high standards.

Dunfermline is a long way from Italy but this restaurant brings it a fair bit closer. Dropped in for a casual lunch and stayed to be impressed both by the friendly, highly competent staff and the authentic flavours of ‘la cuccina’. My carbonara was as creamy as you could wish with spaghetti cooked in a way you rarely find outside Italy. I took funghi ripieni as a starter and was impressed by the the contrast of the crispy outsides and the meltingly tasty interiors. A place for serious eating in downtown Dunfermline

Would 100% recommend Carlucci’s restaurant for gluten free customers. The waitresses were lovely and helpful. The food was delicious and easily the best gluten free pizza I’ve had. They even had a gluten free dessert! Would definitely visit again!

Dunfermline is far from being at the centre of the gastronomic world, but the canny foodie can still find some real gems. Take Carlucci. It brings a hint of rustic Italy to urban Fife. You are immediately warmly welcomed with an interesting menu, some standards, other beating a newer path. My funghi ripieni were as crispy on the outside as you could wish with a meltingly fragrant centre. The quality of the spaghetti itself in the spaghetti carbonara was of the kind you only ever find in Italy, the foundation of as tasty a dish as I have had in any Italian restaurant recently. Friendly efficient service completed an excellent meal.

Notified that the order was on way but 30 minutes later no delivery. Called restaurant and they said it was on the way. 15 minutes later I asked for an update and was assured it would be with me soon and would be hot. Food arrived so cold we had to put the pizza in the oven and pasta in microwave. Appeared helpful on the phone, the woman was nice but we wont order for delivery from here again now unfortunately

Very surprised as food usually lovely. Carbonara had no taste and was cold….was basically just pasta in cream with ham thrown in. Pollo piccante was tasty after heated in the microwave……dish is normally full of peppers and spicy sausage too on top of the chicken but there was none…..only chicken with sauce. We order the same dishes from carlucci as we really enjoy it…..perhaps a change in chef? Wasn’t really enjoyable this time

We visited Carlucci on our last night in Dunfermline and it was the perfect end to our stay. Very attentive and friendly staff, delicious food and a great location on the high street. Would highly recommend to anyone that appreciates good Italian food. Thanks again Carlucci for helping us end our trip on a high note!

Had a really nice pre theatre meal here. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was really good - massive portions (maybe too big 🤣 of tiramisu). Standard moan about juice prices, overpriced and bugs me wherever I go, a tin of juice should never cost £3.10.

I ordered food for a special family occasion. I ordered Lasagne, spaghetti and meatballs and spaghetti Bolognese. Lasagne had minimal layers of pasta and was mostly hard/inedible mozzarella 😢 Meatballs were sparse and mainly spaghetti. Very disappointed after forking out restaurant prices for Asda like food via Just Eat 😢😢
