Absolute locals pub, very reasonable prices and great selection on tap and with regards to whisky. Don’t expect the Ritz. Not particularly a fan of the recent makeover but can’t win them all eh
We had a superb three course meal at The Rockies, Anstruther on Friday 16th May. This was a return visit as we had first discovered this fantastic wee restaurant two years ago and had to revisit when back in The East Neuk.
We were pleased our favourite starters of camenbert and haggis bon bons were on offer which were followed by excellent main courses of steak, venison pie and such a generous haddock that the dog was very pleased with its 'doggie bag" later.
The sweets were a delight and we can recommend the bread and butter pudding, which was light and just the right sized portion, as was the panacotta.
A special mention goes to the staff; the service was excellent from friendly and attentive locals who made us feel very welcome.
It was also very good value for money.
Thank you for a perfect evening.
It used to be one of the best curry places in Fife. At some point they 'closed.for refurbishment' and since the opening the food has been BAD. Strange flavours, didn't taste like a curry. Is it a new chef? A lock of chef? Something went wrong and the food is not even close to the original. Will not order again. Also strangely all of the bad reviews from Just East and other platforms disappeared. Avoid.
What a great place for food and family.
The 4 adults and 13 month old grandson enjoyed all the food and checked on regularly
I’ve booked my husband 70th as there’s something on the menu for everyone and the prices are really reasonable.
We will back before that though!

Waited a while for two suppers which was fine as it was a nice day. I usually go to other chippies so thought I'd try this one. I wish I had went to the other ones because the food was so oily it made us both feel sick. Not joking I had to spit the bit of fish out onto a napkin and tried to eat the peas which were fine but could not eat the fish. It looked delicious though, one other thing was the batter made it look like it was a thick bit of fish but when you bite into it there was barely any fish inside it. Anyhow I decided after feeling sick I would just bin it, when I picked the napkin up it was oil soaked, now remember this was from one single bite of the fish. That's a lot of oil if one bite has soaked a napkin. Unfortunately I won't be back. Near £30 for food fit for the bin which in this climate isn't ideal. I couldn't just go elsewhere and spend the same again, not to mention being put off due to the amount of oil. Overall disappointing experience that I don't wish to repeat.
I ordered takeaway. 1 hour and 45 minutes later than delivery time and it has not arrived. Tried to phone and phone isn't ringing. Have no food and too late to order from anywhere else. Terrible service. If you want food do not order from here.
Ice cream amazing as always but it's lost the ice cream parlour feeling I loved.
Hardly any tables, bar style seating, too high for my grandchildren.
Missed the menu with Sundaes..trying to figure out your own sundae is tricky when there's a big queue behind you.
Under new management - we have had fantastic experience here in the past but this time, while the staff were friendly and it was all ok, aspects were a disappointment compared to how good it used to be. We ordered hot smoked salmon and fennel salad - absolutely no sign of any fennel, or an explanation or apology for substituting rocket. At £23 we expected something really special. The menu is generally pretty good, but not as exciting or varied as under the old management, who did some wonderful tempura, exotic and delicious slaws etc. At these prices they need to up their game. The waiter did bring round a complimentary drink for us to try, which was a nice touch, but overall we left not feeling like we would rush back
