First time at HAAR and it was a lovely experience. The vegetarian lunch menu was fantastic value, with delicious food and friendly service. Definitely recommend!

We had an excellent meal at Haar last night and the service was exceptional. Stand out dishes were the pumpkin and the venison, but every one was memorable. We will definitely return and definitely recommend.

Had bought a voucher for Haar via Itison to join up with some friends for a dinner meal. We had the tasing menu which included 3 snacks served at a dedicated area by one of the chefs before we were shown to the table. All exceptional (trout pastrami, oyster and ‘Cullen skink’ - sounds simple but I’m not doing it justice!!) We were then shown to a table upstairs and we opted to add on scallops and a whole lobster to the standard menu offered, well with it. Mackerel , cod, pork courses all followed and then we had pre dessert and the trophy winning Nanas Bannoffee dessert - unbelievably good All I can say is it was by far one of the best meals I’ve ever had and was gobsmacked at the standard of food and presentation. Lovely restaurant and fantastic service, really friendly and they couldn’t have done more. It seemed to improve course after course. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a high standard dining experience

Had a great Monday evening at The Haar. Staff were welcoming, food was absolutely fantastic and would definitely go back. Only slight issue was the bill. We booked the day before due to an advert outside the restaurant highlighting a six course taster menu for £75 per person. We went in, confirmed the cost, and booked for the following evening. When the bill arrived after the meal we were charged £125 per person and also for an extra glass of wine. The bill was changed but must admit that it was not the ending to a great night we had envisaged!

Having previously had an amazing lunch booked for a family celebration. Oh how disappointed we were even the bread and butter was lack lustre. The strawberry mess dessert was awful too too sweet even for a teenager. No dish stood out😢The service was average probably due to new young staff. A comment about the dessert was treated with contempt.

Few issues before we we even arrived to eat. Many months before, whilst reading a trip advisor review, we saw a complaint about dogs in the restaurant. I emailed Haar and asked if they allowed dogs in. Yes, it was the reply, so we booked. Day before we due to eat, we have a phone call saying we are not dog friendly, we said we have an email saying you will allow dogs. They reluctantly agreed to this. Walking in to Haar, it's a very sterile environment, all white and clinical, reminded me of a private hospital cafe area! Just in front of the front door was what resembled a clean area of a laboratory. At this point, I should mention that I have been a restaurant manager and a floor manager for high-end restaurants, including a Michelin starred restaurant in The Lake District. The staff were all very young, doubt there was one over 30. They seemed very friendly, we were shown to a very small table for 2 under the stairs, as though we needed to be hidden!!! We ordered a glass of champagne whilst we read the menu. We chose to have the wine flight, good value at £75 , as the wine list was very expensive. The waitress came and said snacks would he served at the table, rather than the "chefs table." My first thought was What in the OJ Simpson is this? " We've got settled, got a drink and you now want us to move, eat snacks and then go back to my table, why? It's like some mad adult musical chairs. The food then came rather quickly, especially as there were only 3 other tables in. Snacks were crab, oyster, & cured pastrami. Served with a glass of wine. This was rapidly followed by yet another glass from the wine flight and Loch Etive Trout, caviar at an additional cost.at this point, I had 3 glasses on the table which I was unable to finish before the next course arrived. Everything felt rushed. Scollop next, nice but unexciting. The next course is when the meal was ruined for us. Out comes the lobster, sorry, but I prefer the humble crab. The lobster was OK but slightly dense, and the sweet sauce drowned the delicate flavour. As this was served a group of intoxicated, loud American men entered, they had no doubt been channelling their inner golfer all day, had a few, and come for dinner. We couldn't hear the sommelier or the waitress for the next course, roasted lamb. We politely asked if they could ask the loud group to tone it down a little so we could continue to enjoy our mea. If they asked, it fell on deaf ears. They ignored them and shouted for more cocktails! Unable to hear ourselves talk and our dog getting ready to join in the increasing noise, we again asked if they could ask them to keep quiet. This is where the team needs some training. They literally asked them to shush!! Yeah, sush, it doesn't work on kids, so it's not going to work on drunk obnoxious Americans. They should have been told to to keep it down or leave (something my staff had no problem doing) They moved us upstairs for the dessert section, but it was too little, too late, our anniversary meal was ruined by the drunk obnoxious American table. This wasnt a cheap meal, the rushed feeling and the dact icwas left playing catch.up with the wine flight, suggests the staff need more training. It's a shame as we had looked forward to the meal. We won't be recommending it unless something is done about certain clientele and the staff are trained to handle the situation better.

Nice welcome and they wished my niece happy birthday which was thoughtful. Talked through menu options well, we just had lunch with some extras, and my niece tried oysters for the first time. Can't really knock service apart from time between courses which appeared to be down to lack of waiting staff. Food was decent and some nice flavours, well presented and explained by knowledgeable staff. Could do with wine that is more about £30 mark. So this is where we are pretty much losing faith in going out for nice food. The service charge is simply out of control. We budget for a meal then out comes bill with nearly £25 extra. Let people decide themselves and also staff should be paid appropriately that they don't rely on that money. It's pricing folk out of going out for a nice meal. We love fine dining, we love being served and the communication between everyone talking about food and wine. Scrap service charges.

Me and My wife spent our time having an amazing 3 course lunch at Haar and let's just say the food was incredible, Cocktails sublime and the staff was amazing and we will certainly be back.

It would have been a higher score except that the staff failed to manage a customer relation problem swiftly and effectively. We booked with our dogs as we had read they welcomed dogs. Sent an email to check this, reply said yes we can accommodate you and your dogs. Fantastic!! Day before we were due to go, phone call, we don't accept dogs!! We told them of the email and confirmed on booking. Haar well ok then we can accommodate you and your dogs!!! Lovely table, few other couples in. Young team running front of house, seemed competent and friendly ( I was a floor manager for a Michelin Restaurant) Champagne to start, followed by the Wine flight ( great value at £75) Snacks were served at table rather than chefs table, really lovely and great local produce. Have to say the service felt quite rushed. Case of they've had one course, quick let's get the next. All was going well until we got to just before the lobster course, when 6 loud, clearly drunk, American men arrived. They seated them and they ordered drinks, the noise level increased to a level where you couldn't hear the server. We complained, they went and asked them to tone it down, they got louder. Another complaint as by now it was ruining the meal and disturbing the dogs. Again the staff weren't assertive and just basically told them to shush!!! In my experience at this point the party should be told to stop disturbing other guests or leave. The front of house team needs to go on an assertiveness training. They moved us upstairs for our desserts, but it was far too little and way too late for it to not ruin the meal. It was a real shame as the meal was an Anniversary Celebration and although the food was lovely, it was ruined by a table of drunken loud men.

Oysters, trout, Lobster, Caviar, Wagyu and the sweet finish of strawberry. I haven't remembered a feast like this since Beauty and the Beast. We will return next year. 10/10

Haar restaurant is certainly a unique experience. They offer a tasting menu which starts off at the chef’s table for a few apps, and then you are taken to the main dining area. Cozy feel. The dishes are full of surprises. And the “scroll” map of the menu is the absolute cutest thing. Pricey, but worth it here.

Haar is a very unique small plate, with several courses, restaurant. Substitutions and additions could be made in a few courses. Each item was sourced from Scotland farms or merchants. Food was delivered in an orderly manner except the last two courses. It appeared our waitress either forgot about us or the kitchen got backed up. Overall the food was good, some exceptional. With the price per person I felt all of the courses should have been exceptional.

The restaurant has to be one of the best we’ve had and we’ve had a lot of Michelin stars. The seafood all so fresh but perfectly balanced and the lamb au just amazing!

Lovely comfy beds and a beautiful view. Very clean and warm The ironing boards in the hall are an awesome touch.

Omg you must reserve at Haar for your next visit to Saint Andrews. We had the extensive tasting menu but, not with wine pairings. Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in to this hidden Gem. The decor, ambiance, cuisine and wines are beyond exceptional. Expect to spend a few hours enjoying the delicacy’s of the region . This is truly a spectacular restaurant and we will return !

I very rarely eat at such a restaurant as Haar but absolutely loved the experience of the tasting menu. Each dish was exquisitely designed in terms of taste and presentation with fairly local ingredients. The staff were attentive and friendly, which enhanced the experience. Many thanks.

Had a most memorable meal at Haar. Top notch in every way. Started with a delicious cocktail, followed by “snacks” made inf front of us by the lovely Alex. Really enjoyed chatting to her about her dishes. Then on to the tasting menu all of which was delicious. Especially loved all the local produce, beautifully coked and presented. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us - they were a delight. Will definitely be back.

Rooms were modern, clean, and even had smart TVs for late night streaming, but what made it special was the hotel host and the restaurant host/waitress who were excellent and treated everyone special. The breakfast was super!

From the initial snacks at the chefs table, to the final spoonful of Nana’s banoffee the whole experience was simply divine! Lottie, our server, couldn’t have been any more polite and knowledgeable about every plate that was put in front of us. The paired wines lifted each course to another level. Kudos to the sommelier. The ambience of the restaurant compliments the food superbly. I can’t think of a better dining experience and it won’t be long before we’re back again. Superb, just superb!

Went for lunch today and what a treat , the service was spot on , attentive and informative, and food was delicious , everything I had hoped it would be for a special day out , thank you we will be back

My wife and I were running a bit late due to traffic and Martha accommodated us, whereas some restaurants would be a flat no. We had come from California and my wife was looking forward to lunch at Haar. The restaurant space was so peaceful, serene and relaxing. I really enjoyed the decor, and it would mean even more if you asked about the name Haar. Service: Martha is totally precious!! From the moment we walked in the door until we left, she was so welcoming, friendly, and her service was amazing without feeling like we were being hovered over. My wife loves espresso Martinis, and Martha’s Espresso Martini hit number one all time best. I can’t say enough about how welcome she made us feel. What a beautiful person. Often the wait staff can make or break a meal, and in this case she complimented our experience. The food; I don’t like beets, I loved theirs. I’m so so on lobster, I loved theirs. The food was excellent. My wife is a serious foodie, and she was not disappointed to have this meal half way around the world. I highly recommend Haar for lunch, and they have a real gem in Martha.

Ordered at ‘Haar at Home’ box and wasn’t disappointed The box arrived on the date it was ordered for being well packed in a sturdy box and reusable ice packs. The food was all very fresh and the preparation instructions were easy to follow. Everything was really tasty Would recommend if you can’t get up to the restaurant or just want a fine dining experience at home.

Made a booking and tried to cancel, phone number only gives you an automated message telling you to email to cancel. Emailed to cancel and charged £78, above the cost of a lunch. No offer to reschedule or anything just happy to take the money with no explanation

This place should be shut down. Without doubt the worst value restaurant in St Andrews. £60 markup on a £20 bottle of wine. We arrived on time for our 8pm reservation and by 8.35pm we’d been lucky to be served a drink, with no sign of any food. The tasting menu requires you to rotate through a countertop bar, which only has space for 2 people. We left at 8.45pm having not eaten anything. Not good for what is supposed to be £105 per head. The bar we sat in is very uninviting - the door to the toilets is right next to the bar seating, with staff passing through regularly to clear dirty plates from tables. Terrible atmosphere and just glad we didn’t stay to be completely ripped off. Unsurprising to hear that this is Dean Banks’ third attempt at a restaurant in St Andrews, with the prior two having closed under mysterious circumstances. I suspect this one is soon to follow.

So I really like food and have been around the world trying amazing restaurants. This restaurant however has outstanding flavours like I've never had before, these chefs are really outstanding

I went with my wife for the lunch menu, and we took the extras options. So between us we tried the whole lunch menu. Sadly to say I am my wife were disappointed. For a mere £15 we had a single scallop. In a giant curry sauce. The scallop was a tad undercooked. With a dash of coriander oil, which was ever so slightly sweet. Honestly the dish does not work. We also had a half of a small lobster, caught locally. It apparently was the dish cooked in the 2018 Master chef final. Again I was disappointed. I cannot see how this is Michelin stared. Needless to say I will not eat here again.

Glorious meal from start to finish. Staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Each course more sublime than the last. Went to celebrate my husband's birthday and had a delightful time.

What a wonderful experience to celebrate my wife’s 41st birthday! We were politely greeted by Florian. His service with a smile gave us a welcoming vibe right from the start. The service and the food journey from start to finish was impeccable. Edeline and Jean took their time to explain every single dish that was presented on our table.The chef, Brian showcased his skills on each of our meals to the next level. I must say we throughly enjoyed our dinner experience tonight. Well done team and we will be definitely coming back for more!

We came for the lunch tasting menu for my wife's birthday. The food was excellent - no qualms about it whatsoever, though I would've like to have tasted a few of the ingredients in a couple of dishes which were overpowered by other flavours. Location-wise, it is really nice to be nearly across from the Old Course and have a easy walk/view of the West Sands. It is a bit on the outskirts of the centre of the Town and not terribly convenient, but nice all the same. The service in the restaurant left much to be desired. Some of the staff were wonderful (Alex even remembered that we came for a birthday and added a candle to my wife's dessert!), but that was the extent of the welcome we felt. If I were to fault anything: 1. Despite my noting on the reservation we came for a birthday, it went unacknowledged apart from Alex's gesture noted above and despite the effort in presentation of the food and space. This more or less fit with the lack of attention we received after the initial welcome - it felt like we were an afterthought to the wait staff. 2. It was disappointing to see the head chef come out and greet the other tables and explain dishes but not to ours. This despite us being one of two parties in the whole restaurant the better part of the first hour and the only one not approached. 3. The waiter/host had no business acting shocked and taken aback when I asked the charity donation be removed from our bill as we already give to other charities. A simple 'sorry' would have sufficed in response, not the commentary we received. I almost wish I had reduced the service fee at that point as I felt 12.5% (on top of VAT, not before) may not have been deserved after all. Would I go back? I don't know. I loved the food and want to recommend it to others, but the lack of care and service for a nice restaurant like Haar was shocking to the point that I'll likely stay away for a long while.

Beautiful atmosphere, food and lovely staff. The food at Haar definitely aligned with our expectations along with the excellent service, and we're so glad they did. We will definitely be returning hopefully for another great experience!

Very nice ambience in the restaurant, sat next to a very warm radiator on a cold day, warm breads and butter to start with was very nice, all courses were very well presented and the servers explained the dishes, we both got the same dishes, we should have got different dishes to sample more of the menu, next time. Location is excellent, handy for both the course and the centre. Parking across the street wasn't a problem even on a busy Saturday,

Just been to this restuarant in St Andrews and I cannot recommend it highly enough the presentation ,tastes ,and visual experience have to be tried by everyone Thank you Haar for the most wonderful meal and the staff were so friendly and welcoming too 5 stars not enough

Lovely lunch here.Judging by the mixed reviews here I think lunch is the best value. Price wise if you look at a bog standard pub you could easily pay £35 for three courses. I wouldn't venture beyond lunch though prices look steep. I enjoyed the corn bread ,trout and cod though this portion was on the skimpy side. White chocolate desert was delicious. Vegan main hispi cabbage was delicious. Nice yuzu mocktail. Window tables offer more room.

Eat here with friends and the owner and management’s professionalism and attitude that evening was appalling, the worst I have ever experienced in dining out all over the globe! The portions and quality served was terrible and overpriced and when we addressed a couple of genuine issues they did not even want to listen!

Visited HAAR on a work trip recently & It exceeded all of my expectations!! The restaurant gave off a relaxed vibe yet stayed on brand with the fine dining promise. The food was excellent. I sampled the ‘North Sea Cod’ and was not disappointed! Great selection of Vegan Food too which I appreciated. The room was also gorgeous, so clean & cosy. Will definitely be back to stay here the next time I visit St Andrews😁

Simply put- perfect. My partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Haar earlier this evening. We have returned home happy and full! I wish to note how incredibly attentive, knowledgable and welcoming each and every staff member we encountered were. We felt really looked after throughout and were made to feel special, even with a busy restaurant. We were checked on for drinks the ideal amount, it wasn’t intrusive and we never sat waiting with an empty glass. The food was incredible, each course was delicious and exciting. We were really in awe of the skills that were shown off in tonight’s meal. Not to mention how the presentation blew us away. The portion sizes were generous for a tasting menu and you certainly couldn’t leave hungry! Hard to choose but my favourite course was the the scallops and my partners the deer. However each course was thoroughly enjoyed. It was an exciting culinary journey, with clear direction. We will absolutely be back for our third visit and highly recommend Haar to anyone that is looking for excellent food and service!

Highly recommend! We loved the casual atmosphere and high end Michelin star quality food and service. Having our first course with the Chef at the counter was a personal and intimate way to start our dining experience. It was a modern take on fine dining - loved it!

This was bought as a gift from my girlfriend, and I was overwhelmed at how amazing it was. While the room was quite small, it came with everything we needed and also a super fan that kept us cool 😎. The setting in St Andrews is perfect, and it's a short walk to the beach and into the main town where there are shops, bars, and restaurants enough for everyone. Now .... the food .... we did a tasting menu and paired wines 🍷 which was absolutely incredible. If i could give it 6 stars, I would. It started with cocktails and an amazing chef doing starters with a paired French cremant. The menu had a mix of local produce, including beef, scallops, local trout, lobster, oysters with some amazing breads and other accompaniments.... the servers we had were young but full of passion for the produce and also explained who the wines would compliment the dishes, they were top class. The taste of this, including the wines, was amazing, and I will be talking of this with friends for a long time to come. In the morning, we had a lovely fulfilling breakfast and coffee ☕️ 😋 it really was a perfect time away.

This was an experience, not just 'eating out.' You are hosted and looked after. Excellent as well as fun. Highly recommended.

Amazing unsuspecting dinner at St. Andrews. Service was amazing along with amazing food. Best buttered lobster and beef tartar.

I bought lots of Haar crab & lobster boxes during lockdown so keen to try the restaurant. Even better than my high expectations. Every mouthful was outstanding but I strongly recommend the lobster which was divine, heavenly. I am used to warm and friendly service but here it seemed very genuine . It was expensive but worth every penny. In our opinion the dishes had more complex flavours and were more exciting and innovative than a well known restaurant with a Michelin star.

Sorry to say a bit disappointed. The staff were lovely, the food good although somewhat lacking in substance. Thankfully saved by an abundance of bread. However the main complaint is the speed of the meal. We were wined an dined in an hour and a quarter. Not bad if you are wanting a fast food meal but after spending £272, a bit too speedy. Maybe a bit less rush might turn thus into a memorable meal.

We had a fantastic meal here to celebrate my partners birthday. We used an itison voucher for the meal but ended up adding on the two extra courses and the prestige wines. The food was fantastic and the wines were great too. The service was attentive but it did seem a little cold and scripted - we were so impressed by the food but there was no real response to any of our comments about how tasty each course was. Definitely still a 5 star review but just felt the staff could have engaged with us a little more than just to tell us what each course/wine was.

Fantastic welcome in superb surroundings. We had the five course tasting menu which was definitely 5star. The snacks which were offered at the Chef's work station were pure theatre and supremely tasty. The five course tasting menu was truly outstanding in taste, presentation and service, definitely well worth a visit.

For a taste of Blumenthal type cuisine, this is well worth a visit. The five course tasting menu was excellent. Service was excellent with all staff showing a great knowledge of the dishes served.

The best welcome back. We went for lunch on January 21st and had a 6 course tasting menu which I can say was incredible. I have so missed this place and I'm happy to say our meal was even better than I remember. The staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The fact that the chef came to the table to explain the course was such a nice touch. I will definitely be back as soon as I can. Amazing, you have to go. If you enjoy good food and unique tastes you will not be disappointed.

Had the most amazing dining experience...excellent service and food to die for...every course on the taster menu was delicious, inventive and beautifully presented...I have never tasted food like it and enjoyed the theatre and passion of the chefs. You MUST eat here

Had this yesterday, absolutely delicious. It is our 40th wedding anniversary and unable to celebrate as planned we decided to try the crab& lobster box to enjoy at home. Everything from delivery, packaging & instructions was perfect. Both dishes turned out beautiful, highly recommend.

Enjoyed another meal delivery today. The crab and lobster box for date Friday was delicious. The shellfish, the veg , the seasonings dressings were all divine. 10 out of 10 many thanks.

We've tried a few cook at home boxes, this was by far the best. Every aspect of the meal was delicious, even the sides were so tasty, I don't usually do desserts, but OMG the salted caramel ganache.... The package arrived in good time, well packaged, fresh ingredients to cook at home with clear instructions. Freshest of raw ingredients, couldn't be a happier customer! Top marks!

We ordered the 4 course Spring tasting meal as a treat in a week where we were celebrating a birthday and wedding anniversary. We’ve eaten at Haar restaurant so had high expectations of Dean’s ‘at home’ offering. Safe to say we were not disappointed! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Dressed crab crumpets, scallops and beef were delicious and so easy to prepare with the instructions provided.

An anniversary treat - this was really delicious. The preparation instructions were really clear and easy to follow. The dressed crab was delicious and the salad with Asian dressing tasted really fresh and full of flavour. The lobster was superb as was the steak. The portions were generous and I was actually glad we hadn't added a dessert as it would have been too much. All of the ingredients were top quality and totally lived up to expectations. Thanks so much for a really memorable meal. Well worth the price.

We had the 4 course option which was very generous in size and in fact ate the dessert the following day. Very easy instructions to follow with an excellent outcome. Definitely recommend, this is our second box.

We’ve just had the land and sea box home delivery as a treat for my birthday. I was somewhat sceptical as to whether it was going to be worth the expense but we thought we’d give it a go. I am so glad we did - it was absolutely superb, instructions very easy to follow and every course delicious. We ordered a desert as well but there was no way we could manage another mouthful after the 3 courses so that will be a treat tomorrow. The portions are very generous. I can honestly say it was worth every penny and will be the first of many boxes.

Wow . Feel like a masterchef lol. Got the surf and turf dine at home . Amazing, deliver came in the morning. Well packed and chilled . Produce amazing, Qr link to the instructions easy use and follow . Steak star of the show , suggested timings were spot on . The video link was helpful and great to see the main man cooking . Would order again and can't wait to visit the restaurant when we are allowed again . 5 star

I ordered the land and sea box along with wine cocktails and desert totalling £145 for easter bank holiday. The delivery never arrived on Thursday, Friday or Saturday by which time i was advised if the box does arrive i must still accept it but they recommend not to eat the lobster luckily by this time it didnt arrive. I spoke on Monday and was offered a refund. When i asked for any compensation or offer i was told they would get back to me, after an email and post on instagram which they have now blocked i decided to call again, Eunice Lau has just told me that they are willing to do nothing else. For this reason i have felt the need to write this review, things do go wrong and when they do i feel a business should fo the right thing which they are obviously not prepared to do PROCEED WITH CAUTION

I ordered their langoustine linguine box and it was a disappointment.

Had a wonderful Good Friday meal... best of land and sea. Thoroughly enjoyed our three course meal this evening. The fresh quality ingredients were amazing but what set the meals off was the special seasonings and sauces that were included which took the meals up a notch! With good wine and music we had a great night! Thank you Haar at Home.

We also really enjoyed the crab and lobster box - excellent quality ingredients and generous helpings. Only small very small gripe was that when ingredients are understandably needing to be changed due to avialabilty that the instructlions weren't really relevant eg cooking asparagus is very different to broccoli - but it was delicious!

Ordered the crab and lobster box for our anniversary and it wad truly amazing, by far the best at home service we have had so far, and ee have tried quote a few. Easy instructions and plentiful amounts of dressings etc, which has not always been the case with other companies. Will be ordering again soon.

We ordered the crab and lobster luxury box as the UK is in lockdown so restaurant visits are not possible. As promised the preparation for us to do was minimal. As we live on the south coast of England getting this meal kit delivered gave us a chance to experience the food from Haar in our own home. Everything was excellent quality and we thoroughly enjoyed the Asian style salad with the crab, the lobster with mirin butter sauce, the seaweed potatoes and the fresh asparagus. We will order again. One day we hope to go to Scotland and visit Haar.

I ordered the Mother’s Day box as a treat for me and the teenager as he never buys me anything. Ordering was very easy, delivery excellent and all arrived on time brilliantly packaged, very well chilled and with very easy instructions. The food was so fresh and delicious I felt truly spoiled, really minimal work to do. I was sorry the lobster course option was sold out by the time I ordered but to be honest the portions were so generous I’m not sure we’d have eaten it all. As it as I had left overs for crab sandwiches and steak salad in the week. I have ordered the crab and lobster box for Easter and can’t wait. The only thing that could improve is a courier to collect the washing up!

What a fantastic treat for my husband’s 30th! Food was so yummy and a really fun thing to do together. Cannot wait to visit Haar when we can.

Ordered this on recommendation of friends and very very impressed. Initially I was worried re cooking but the turned out meal was beyond expectations and restaurant quality +++ the steak was amazing quality, pudding was out of this world!!! Definitely recommended! Only down side was instructions didn’t say which butter to use when!!

Ordered the Deluxe Box for ourselves for our special birthday and for our daughter & fiancé on Zoom. Crab, steak & lobster together with all the accompaniments were fresh, tasty & beautifully prepared. Easy to cook too. Would not hesitate in ordering again. Thank you for a lovely evening

We had a meal box delivery from Haar and were really looking forward to it, and as a treat I ordered the dressed crab, which at £14 was hardly cheap.It was disgraceful, completely stuffed full of crab shell and with no dressing or sauce -- see the photo. This completely put us off the meal.Also the meal arrived with no cooking instructions which we had to source online.I wouldn't order from them again as if they can't quality control a simple starter how can you trust them for a main course?

Delivery on time and food perfect. Instructions clear. A great way to have escape from reality. Great cocktails too

I enjoyed the best of land and sea box all to myself over three nights. The food was absolutely delicious. The crab salad was so fresh, the lobster also excellent. The steak and broccoli were to die for. A really fabulous dining experience. Instructions worked well.

Was really impressed with luxury fish box we had on Hogmanay, so ordered the Valentine’s Day wagyu beef box to treat ourselves. Box arrived beautifully packed, with ice packs still frozen. Meal and accompanying wine were delicious. So easy and quick to prepare following instructions. We loved it all. Can’t recommend Haar at home highly enough. Have enjoyed meal boxes from several renowned chefs (including Michelin starred) during the last year. Haar remains our favourite - Michelin star can’t be long in being awarded.

We received a luxury surf and turf box at home.The quality of the food was excellent, but even better than that was the easy straightforward preparation and cooking instructions.My cooking skills are akin to having the local delivery restaurants on speed dial, but it was fantastic, even though I say it myself, give it a try!!

We ordered an at home box of Langoustines and steak box. I arrived safely an on time, well packaged. While getting the langoustines ready wasn't easy, the video on line made it much easier. The steak was excellent and the wine we had went down well. We had got one for our friends (Surf and Turf) and they had a similar experience although there langoustines were already prepared! All in all a great way to help celebrate a special birthday via zoom.

I was looking online for a fine-dining treat to have delivered - a belated Valentine’s meal for myself and my husband, who has been away 3 months. It came well-packaged and all the items of top quality. The trout starter with the rye bread and pickled salad was delicious, the beef main with the langoustine tails and miso butter was awesome, and we have to say the seasoned seared broccoli was a highlight!! A bottle of Mara Martin Godello was a superb accompaniment and we managed to save a bit of space for the yummy chocolate and salted caramel ganache!!Easy instructions and we even decided to set up our own restaurant in the living room to make it feel as if we were actually out for dinner!! Lovely evening and we would definitely recommend this to family and friends!Thank you Dean and the team at Haar, hopefully we will get the opportunity to visit you in St Andrews one day!!

This is the 5 th Haar at home we have had, having been an original crowdfunder so the Tasting box with Olly,was a step up, Our daughter also had one delivered on the same day so we could kind of share her birthday,200 miles apart !!The mushroom starter was outstanding, Lobster divine, Duck delicious( more sauce ) and Ganache to die for, well done Guys to put together such a great meal that can travel and still be exceptional is a tribute to you, only problem is I've now recommended you to so many friends its harder to get a delivery slot !!!Look forward to visiting the Restaurant when we can Well Done Iain Garside

Amazing to be able to produce, and deliver, food of this quality direct to your door. The instructions included are clear and easy to follow, with every ingredient/component labelled clearly. Would definitely recommend Haar At Home - it’s just exceptional.

What an amazing meal. I'd always liked Oli Martin and Dean Banks' food when I'd seen them on Professional Masterchef. This year's New Year special reminded me how special Oli's food was. So I ordered this box which combined their food for my birthday.We started with Glazed Wild Mushrooms, Sourdough Eggy Bread, Cheese Custard, Pickled Shimejis & Chive Oil - the lightly sauteed mushrooms sat well on the eggy bread, but the star of the dish was the cheese custard which had a sharp cheddery flavour and drew the other flavours together. The pickled shimeji's were little sparks of sharpness which set off the rest of the meal. Lobster served with Mirin & Seaweed butter - Easy to cook/warm and a full sea flavour of the lobster combined with a warming butter. I've normally eaten lobster whole and made a mess of it and myself, so it was nice to have it preprepared like ths.Slow Cooked Duck Breast, Truffle Sauce, Sticky Roast Onion, Smoked Parsley Root, Duck Fat Confit Potatoes and Crispy Onions - Wow, Wow, Wow - I didn't think I could get the range of amazing flavours I associate with Michelin Star cooking in my own kitchen. The duck was pink and juice with a lovely crispy skin, the potatoes with the chives and crispy onions were lightly sauteed in duck fat and amazingly tasty. The onions were sticky and rich with onion goodness. The star of the show, which brought all the rest together was the delightful Truffle Sauce - I'd travel a long way to get food that tastes this good. Amazing it came to me. Chocolate Hogweed Ganache, Malted Salt Caramel, Cep Crumble, Gingernut - The base was zingy and gingery, the ganache was rich and was well balanced by the crumb.Overall, a wonderful experience that I would happily do again.

Lovely ingredients, tasty flavour combinations and so easy to prepare (most of the work is done for you, you generally just have to heat things up.) Would definitely recommend for any special occasion - or just a regular weekend.

I have had 2 fantastic meals delivered to my door. The food is delicious - Dean's signature lobster is to die for - you'd be mad not to try it - the instructions for cooking or heating up some of the dishes are clear and simple. The ordering is easy. What's not to love?

We ordered a luxury lobster & crab box which arrived well packaged with ice packs. There was a clear re-heat/ cook instruction card which was easy to follow. Everything was delicious, beautiful fresh seafood enhanced by butters and dressing. The broccoli with smoked mayo...yummy! A wonderful lift in these dire times.

I bought a meal for my partners birthday, and it was really fabulous. I'm a competent cook but couldn't have recreated this myself alone - the sauces and accompliments were night and day better than I could have done, and elevated the meal to another level. We will not hesitate to buy again.

Absolutely fantastic meal. Everything top quality, with very clear instructions. Generous portions too. This is the third restaurant kit we have tried (the other two from different restaurants) but this was head and shoulders the best and we will definitely be ordering something special from Haar in the future. Maybe one day when we can go out again we'll go to the restaurant.

A wonderful treat in this wasteland January. Excellent quality food, easy to cook, with full instructions given. Italian 'Polpo' wine was a great match for the food.

Unfortunately my partner is allergic to lobster (nothing else) so we were unable to take advantage of the first lockdown boxes. However this week we treated ourselves to the langoustine and steak box with salted caramel ganache cheesecake. We could not fault any aspect of the meal. The steak absolutely melted in the mouth. In fact the portions were sufficient generous that it did us for two evenings. We have just ordered the 5 course tasting meal and can't wait to enjoy that too. Having eaten the tasting menu twice at the restaurant I think that Dean and the team have done a brilliant job of keeping things going during these trying times. Congratulations and we can't wait to see you back in the restaurant as soon as we are allowed again.
