Chips: Lets start with the fundamentals - chips!  9 out of 10.  They are typically very good and even when you have to wait for a fresh batch you wont wait long. Drop one point because in the last few years there has been one occasion where they weren't nice.  That doesn't make it a bad chippy, in fact other chippy's are much worse in this regard.  So, good chips and will continue to visit! Customary Items: Battered Sausages are delicious, fish good but sometimes a little greasy, but the haggis absolutely superb, and as it should be in any Scottish chippy.  Haggis is another benchmark by which I judge chippy's and this is a winner. Exotic Items: Many different items from around the world: pizzas; pakoras; spring rolls; and kebabs.  Only tried the Donner so far and its been on point, fantastic, even better than most kebabs I've had in Turkey.  Nice large sized portion with a fresh pitta and comes with big salad together with a tub of chilli sauce and a tub of some weird white goo too, but normal people can swap that white goo out for two chilli sauces. Operations: Honestly, when I walked in I felt like a Formula 1 racer arriving into the pits at the Qatar GP.  There are 5, 6, 10, maybe 20 people in there, i don't know its hard to tell because they are all running around at lightning speed similar to a McLaren pit crew getting my order ready and on my way.  Whoever organises this team of experts needs to be thinking about a career change into motorsport racing or perhaps the Conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic because its phenomenal to watch such operational efficiency. Staff: Always super friendly and happy to see you. As said above their professionalism and efficiency is top class. They could easily be working in the upper levels of the service industry, even Michelin star establishments. Recommendations: I don't visit regularly but what would encourage me to visit more....?  How about some special offers to the close neighbours who could support you the most.  Arthur St, some of Townhill Rd and Robertson Rd too.  An offer only for the local neighbours... maybe on one of your quieter nights of the week that encourages us to visit with our ID's to prove local residency and spend our hard earned cash?  Everyone wins in this regard, you get more business and locals are happy too.   I would definitely try more of your offerings if that was the case. Remember where you heard this idea first!

Arrived 45 minutes late on top of the original 1 hour delivery time for very average warm (not hot) fish and chips. Save your time and go elsewhere.

Was getting my usual fish supper as I like it here but was asked to pay 70p for a small tub of brown sauce. I asked for not a lot when asked if I wanted sauce on the meal so a tub was suggested to which I said yes. Then it was rang up on till !!. I don’t know any chip shop charging for brown sauce. I expressed my thoughts and the sauce was removed. I will never be back in this chip shop after going for years. Very sad but I’m not having that

Meh, better chippys out there, calzone was watery, took a few bites and water poured out the other end, the wrap was also soggy which made it hard to eat. Think this place has got a bit pricey as chips and curry sauce for a tiny box was over £4. I asked for the salad on the side of my wrap instead of on it and was told this would be an extra £2… to put the salad I was going to have inside the wrap on the side instead, wouldn’t go back here as I think they’ve got tight on portions and greedy.

If you like soggy batter and bland food this is the place for you ,spent £30 on a mixture of different things of the menu as reviews revved me up the fish wasn't crispy at all it smelled fishy and the fish itself looked horrible not white flakes but brown all over it ,the chips and sausage was also soggy almost spongy like it had been reheated so lesson learned if you want a decent fish supper go to Jim Jack's.

Once again this brutal little chippy let's you down, gave it a second chance after waiting 2 hours for a delivery the last time, but nope they still are shocking. Would understand if the food was that good. Don't go near the place.

Chips are ok but very dry fish is ok..

Can't authenticate sausage n chips for kids but my grandson certainly ate it

One of the best chippys in Scotland. The one the spot quality checks with the chips mean you always get the best chips, never too soft or too crunchy, always perfect. Everything else is brilliant, very well priced and always tastes divine. Never had a bad meal from here. Although the student rotation on tills need a little more customer service training the regular full time staff are absolutely delightful. Surprisingly cheery given the high pressure and temperature environment they work in almost every day.

I've been here a few times and so far have never been disappointed, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is always fresh cooked and tastes as it should.

By far the best chippy in Dunfermline, always had great food, we recently tried 2 other chippys near Duloch due to kids finishing football late and needed something quick and the orders were shocking, confirmed for us that I'm prepared to travel that we bit further to Gennaros as you are guaranteed fresh, quality food.

Good if it arrives hot, which is hit or miss. Tonight my pizza was cold. Maybe drivers should start using insulated bags, or closing them if they use them already! The price of food now, it should arrive hot, no excuses. I'll be going elsewhere next time, I'm afraid

I have ordered from Gennaros on a few separate occasions now (tonight being the last) and every time they have been very late with delivery. Tonight I specifically asked, when I put the order in, that they let me know if the order was going to take longer than the 50 minutes they had advised it would be. It was late again and I had to call them twice to get an update. When the food did finally arrive (25 minutes late) it was slightly warm and the majority of the chips were stuck to the white paper on the bottom of the box, no doubt due to the amount of time the food had been in the box before being delivered. No more chances I'm afraid..

Got a carry out at the weekend, so disappointed, cold onion rings,cold chicken pakora,the chicken in my kebab was so overcooked it was destroyed,.Come on guys,,,

The only genuine Fish and Chip shop left in Dunfermline...one large fish supper is enough to feed two, and always yummy. 😀👍👍😀

Ordered a sausage supper and half pizza crunch, sausages must have been reheated from weekend, chips were cold and unedible. All went in bin. Stay clear of this place.

Hello Was in tonight to get £2 worth of Donner meat for my wee dog as he's be not well for a few days also a visit to the vet So we know he likes Donner meat we tried him with it He ate a wee bit but it was a joy that he's had something he enjoyes I just want to say thanks to the staff and much appreciated

Went today for takeaway Grown men standing outside shop obviously under the influence felt really vulnerable managed to get into the shop to which a man came in accusing me of jumping the que I felt absolutely intimidated and nothing was said by management I left annoyed without any food and again on leaving had to try and get safely away from those outside Management quite happy for them to be standing there as they are obviously more concerned about the money rather than safety if their customers

Food was poor and barely hot - if this is their norm doubt if we’ll give this place another shot when there are so many others to try. Disappointing!

I like Gennaro's and I enjoy the food. Telephone/website orders placed for collection are exceptionally quick. Usually ready to collect within ten minutes. Prices are ok and in line with other chippies in area. Although being charged 60p for a small tub of sauce shocked me... I prefer to have my sauce in a tub instead of doused all over the food! So if I had it doused, it was included in price but in a tub it meant I was charged! Anyway, overall I would recommend!

Now 1 of the best takeaways in Dunfermline,chip shop is excellent with huge portions and Kebabs just as good,regular for a number of years and wouldn’t go anywhere else.Recommended 👍.

Got delivery that was missing chip's and cheese,phoned back and the service was shocking staff were rude and argumentative made to pay again for chip's and cheese again and was ripped off in the end shocking service

1st time trying Genarros fish and chips and spicy haggis all delicious. We will be ordering again but not too soon as we are stuffed.

Never usually have to wait long compared to other chippys and have sampled various different options from the menu which have always been tasty. Tried their donner kebab recently which was delicious as I munched it down watching MasterChef ! Requires strong will power not to visit more often. Recommended !

Absolutely great food, top service! First time getting a delivery tonight as l normally get collection. Arrived on time food was cooked to perfection. Had a chicken dinner calzone & it’s most definitely the best I’ve had even 2 separate sauces and a lovely little side salad, very well presented. Well done guys!!! Won’t be looking else where.

Food arrived 10 minutes early and was piping hot. Really tasty, good portion size and value for money.

Although the fish was thick and moist the batter was soggy,the chips were stale,the worse chippy chips I have tasted.Looked at previous reviews which were good,very disappointed.

First time using this chippie. Pleased to say they take contactless payments. I had a fish supper, cooked fresh, two pieces of fish, was very good. She had a white pudding supper and noted that it was very good too. Decent portions! Definitely use again when in the area.

Stopped in on way home to Perth, my daughter found it on Maps, so glad she did! Staff were great, portions epic and everything we had was brilliant! (Which was a lot... eyes bigger than belly!) Totally recommend this place 100%!! We'll be back.

Food arrived early, we thought oh this is good. Wrong, the fish was mostly batter, hardly any fish. The burger was advertised as being served with salad and a sauce of my choice. No salad or sauce on the burger. Definitely will not spend another penny in your chippy.

Bought a calzone, the bottom was black but the dough was raw. Don't know what know what has happened to this place but I won't be back.

We use this chippy regularly. Fish suppers are huge and tasty. Batter is crispy and even the special fish is good. Proper chippy chips too. Kids boxes are available for the wee ones and staff are lovely.

Delivery time is OK but the prices are sky high for the food you're getting its dearer than most restaurants but isn't no where better than any of them. Put the prices down 12 pound for a cal one REALLY??

Wrap i had was freezing cold. Pakora i had was brick hard. They weren't going to give me the money back and when they actually did ,the delivery driver threw the money.

Wow this certainly the best place in Dunfermline for fish & chips. The chips were amazing and the fish has the most crispy batter ever. We ordered 2 fish suppers which had enough to feed 4 adults .

Nice takeaway food also good portion size however on 3 occasions recently I have received the incorrect change. Please check your change as it seems mistakes are happening regularly!

I waited 1.45 minutes for them to deliver my food and even then my order was wrong. Absolutely terrible service. I won't be ordering anything from here again

terrible , i asked for 2 portion of small chips and a portion is 1.80 , i gave them 4 pound and exspected 40p back but they said i was short on money so i gave them 2 pound so that’s 6 pound and got 30p back

Went early in the hope that the food would be fresh, but was disappointed. The chips were greasy and undercooked, and the haggis was limp. Threw it in the fire as it wasn't edible. They used to do mini pizzas which were good for me as single person, but now they don't. I don't want a 12" pizza! It's local but I won't be going back. Avoid if possible.

Waited about 2 hours for a delivery 5 minutes up the road, was never advised only had 1 driver, if this was the case we would have walked down for it and not been eating out dinner after 8 o’clock at night - the hoggie wraps were very good tasting couldn’t fault the food.

Fish was like cardboard - was hard as if it had been cooked twice. Couldn't eat the batter at all. Chips okay but greasy. First time we have visited - but won't be back.

Used this chippy a few times always not bad to good but tonight I don't know who was cooking the food but it was rubbish, sausage tasteless,chips hard and half cooked soaking in grease and onion rings awful. Will not use again it was that bad!

What used to be the best chip shop in Dunfermline has recently been slipping with it’s standards, staff changing on a weekly basis , fish portions getting smaller for instance, long waits in shop as deliveries seem to be prioritised. A long way short of the terrific reviews Genarro himself used to get. Needs a name change to reflect this.
