It is unforgivable it took me so long to pop in to the Aberdour Bistro but I am very pleased I did. With smart but welcoming surroundings, a stone's throw from the rail station and bus stop, it’s a perfect place to pop in for a pot or tea or something more substantial, though on this visit I chose a couple of their carefully curated cocktails and boy they hit the spot! I love the Aberdour spin given to the list and first up was the Sparkling French Martini, and have to say it is one of the best I have tasted (and I may have tasted a fair few!). I then had The Silver Sands, the Bistro’s take on the Singapore version. I am not a fan of the original cocktail but this is highly quaffable. Even better I am sure it gave me some of my 5-a-day! Matt and his staff are so welcoming and clearly care about their craft, using the highest quality ingredients so I won’t leave it so long for my next visit; I have the cocktail list to work through after all…

First visit here. Dropped in for a coffee. Nice place with more than enough tables and a decent menu at reasonable prices, but the service was very slow and seemed disorganised. Waited for about ten minutes to be initially served. My wife had time to look around the adjoining gift shop, before our order was taken. Coffee and cakes were good, but the service needs a little improvement.

Bit pricey since I was last here...so for a 1/4 pounder with chips and cheese...2 cans of cola and a portion of chicken pakora that was cut in half pakoras inedible hockey pucks....ÂŁ17.50.... pretty unbelievable. I was shocked when he told me the price i genuinely thought he'd made a mistake. Won't be back.

Really nice Cafe by the beach and have visited over many years ..albeit occasionally. I can honestly say it has improved year on year. Saturday morning and its not long opened for business....a nice welcome from everyone ....service time of food really good. This next line is purely for the people who operate the cafe.... ...keep doing what you are doing it really works. Just a couple of little things .... when picking from the menu and looking for a vegetarian breakfast there are only a few items you can choose which fit this criteria ....the young lady serving was a little officious without being knowledgeable of the laminated menu card......followed by hand gestures (as if people were not looking at the menu properly) she got her information wrong by the way......Whereas the young man on the till ( won't use names but is a Uni student) ....was much more helpful and informative of combinations which worked for us. We aren't silly or petty but really appreciate good customer service and this was the only blip. We would normally leave a gratuity but on this occasion.....not. It won't stop us from continuing to come and enjoy the food and good service by nearly everyone. 🙏

Visit here frequently, especially whilst out walking at the weekend. The views over the Forth make it a lovely place to enjoy a relaxing meal. The food is always delicious whether stopping for a quick light lunch or a more leisurely 3 courser. The staff are always friendly and service efficient. The reason for only the 4 stars is for being turned away from a practically empty restaurant. For some reason, they don't always allow walk-ins, only taking people with reservations (totally understandable) or hotel guests (not so understandable - not sure why a definite paying customer would be turned away on the chance a hotel guest might turn up). This is especially irksome as having eaten here frequently, I've never seen this place even near to full. Luckily for us, when we're out walking, there are other places nearby to eat, but the moral of the story is if you definitely want to eat here, make sure you book.
