Great local, prices are not exaggerated due to the location. Staff is alway wonderful but there is NO FOOD! It is a traditional pub.

Friendly, only ate here the once but it was ok. Did think it a shame it was made more attractive on the outside to draw people in but guess if it’s mainly for locals, they probably don’t need to. Sports screens in tap room.

After a long play on the beach my little boy was starving, so even though we’re pretty strapped for cash at the moment I took him here (with our dog!) to get something off the kids menu. That’s all we had -tap water and a kids meal, which was lovely crispy panko chicken goujons, ‘chippy’ chips and beans. It was a generous portion and came with ice cream too! Everyone was lovely while we were there, we played a game of pool and we’re brought a stool for my son to stand on. I noticed they had a very reasonably priced pensioners menu too, with two courses, dessert, soup and even the option for a whole bottle of wine to be added, which I thought was kind. When we went to pay I was told it was free - kids meals are free on holidays. So even though I ordered absolutely nothing else, my son had a big meal and dessert for nothing. Such a heartwarming thing to find somewhere like this during this cost of living crisis! Will definitely back and actually spend some money next time!

A bit pricey for burger and chips the ciabbta was nice however the "soup of the day" I'm sure came from Knorr or another packet brand also, waited 30 mins in an empty pub for food. Barmaid was pleasant and did not charge for the soup that went uneaten.

My son and i decided to go for a Christmas drive to Aberdour. Parked at the station where i thought i would be able to avail myself of the facilities. Unfortunately the Waiting Room was locked. Never mind said my son, yonder under that twinkling star is an hospitable looking Inn. The Inn-Keeper came to the door with a "this is a local pub for local people" kind of look on his face and declared that there was no room at the Inn because they were having a private function. Politely did I enquire if it was possible just to use the loo please to which said Inn Keeper replied "No!" and suggested that the nearest public toilet was a half hour's walk away down at the Silver Sands beach. Long story short I had to have a rather public function ......in their stable! bwahahahaha

Having remembered fondly this perfect village pub when it was voted Fife pub of the year in 2015 and 2016,my wife and I looked forward to revisiting. What a major disappointment. We chose to sit in the beer garden which had dirty tables and no plants in the pots( one pot was filled with litter.) We ordered drinks and were overcharged by 2 pounds( the member of staff even tried to justify the inflated price before finally admitting his mistake and giving me a refund.) We changed our mind about ordering food , as we were so disenchanted by what had become of our favourite pub . We will certainly not be returning .

This establishment proudly displays a banner announcing it to be Fifes best pub of the year in both 2015 and 2016. A group of 4 of us had walked on the Fife Coastal Path from Burntisland to Aberdour. Our plan on arrival at around 1pm was to have lunch and a drink before our return journey. As the Foresters Arms had a sign saying food available this seemed to be a good choice. However, that particular Saturday there was televised 6 Nations rugby on the pub big screen and a couple of dozen thirsty men were engrosed. Having stood at the bar for a good 15 minutes the barmaid never acknowledged our presence and continued to serve her regulars. We thought this to be the height of bad manners, so much so that we found another pub and had a superb meal/drink. Will not be back!!

Went for a Christmas meal with friends. I am a vegetarian and had the risotto. It was overcooked, had no veg, except frozen peas and carrots and then they tried to disguise the flop by covering it with copious amounts of pepper. I returned the dish and they bought me out a heated tin of chili beans with chunks of frozen sweet potato in it. The accompanying rice was ok. Pudding was a Christmas pud with a squirt of cream. The Christmas dinners were dried out and poor. Please can somebody at least use fresh salad if they cannot cope with other fresh food!

Was so taken aback that I didn't respond immediately and just asked for a glass - fortunately the wine was nice. After strolling around the village and shopping we decided to return for dinner. - the same girl behind the bar - not a smile to be had - just there playing with her mobile - fortunately there was a change of staff for us ordering. I ordered the falafel burger -such a disappointment, just awful I only managed to take 2 bites before deciding that I just couldn't eat it - just a tasteless fried pate. My friend had a beef burger and said it was ok, but nothing special. Wish we had not bothered. Pity as there was a nice friendly atmosphere in the bar.

We popped out to the Foresters for a quick mid week tea as we couldn't be bothered cooking. What a good decision that was!A very friendly and helpful bar staff took our drinks orders while we perused the menu. A good choice of starters and 'tapa's' starters to choose from along with traditional bar meals and some interesting specials. We went for a selection of the tapas starters along with the steak pie and the house burger. The starters arrived and they were excellent, each was enough to share and each one was well presented, our favourite being the scallop on black pudding. The main courses were big portions , i was now wishing i had not had so much to start, as my burger was huge, with proper chips, onion rings and homemade coleslaw ...magic!My better half had the steak pie which i was told was excellent and I was not offered any to confirm, such was its excellence!Overall we were very pleased with everything at the Foresters and will be back again, when i will reduce my starter to allow completion of the burger :)

We were staying at the Aberdour Hotel nearby and as an avid gig-goer, I was pleased to see there was a band playing on the Saturday night. What a night! The pub might be compact but they squeeze in a heck of a lot of atmosphere! We were made to feel welcome immediately, and the place was full to bursting with young folk right through to more...senior...patrons. And the obligatory dug.The local band, Second Stages, were playing their last gig together and I did wonder how their Two Door Cinema Club sound would go down but they played a mixed bag of covers as well as their own stuff, so there was something for everyone. The highlight was watching punters of all ages going mental to "I Predict A Riot"!We didn't get the chance to try the food, which is served several days a week between noon and 3pm, but it seems a decent menu with options for smaller plates, which more eateries should consider. The prices are very affordable. Thanks for a great night, folks!

We booked the Foresters Arms for a small 60th birthday celebration and had a lovely time. The function room is comfortable and traditional and although there were only 24 of us there, it can take up to around 60 people comfortably. It is also on the ground level and accessible for those with difficulties with stairs. We thought that the function represented great value for money with a sandwich buffet starting at £5 per head. Items can be added for additional prices and we included samosas and sausage rolls. Tea and coffee was only £1 head extra. Although inexpensive, the quality of the food was excellent. Above all, the landlady, Louise and the staff were very helpful and welcoming which made setting up so much easier. If you are looking for a venue to have a small function which is of good quality but great value for money, then this is the place!

The restaurant is best if you have children and it is quiet; so that you may chat while you enjoy your meal, but some suitable tables and chairs to match are needed. I have found it good for couples, family, friends & solo. Reservations recommended.

Great friendly pub. Good ales, friendly staff and wicked banter. They run quizes, bingo and live music. You can even play The Leish Lottery - a game invented by the locals and all you need is a copy of The Dunfermline Press and your lucky pants on. Ignore the other local hostelries and come here for a genuine welcome.

Great value, beautifully prepared food here, with well kept beer, and the landlord and locals make you feel really welcome. It might look a tad daunting at first glance (it's an old building), but don't let that put you off - inside it's immaculate, and very welcoming.A pub how pubs used to be, and well worth a visit.

A wonderful pub! We were made very welcome by the locals. The beer is good and they had a local band playing - they know their stuff. These people know how to spend an evening, truly memorable.

Known as "The Forries" it's a simple local pub. The drink is good and cheap, I'm told the food is too. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is always welcoming. There really is nothing bad I can say about the pub, and that's coming from a pernickity miserable (and somewhat less experienced) barman.

We haven't actually been for a meal here, just a quick drink that turned into a very long one on the last two occasions we've been to Scotland. That was due to it being a top pub and the locals being amongst some of the friendliest I've encountered in Britian. I wish this was my local because I would be in here every night. Maybe it's just as well I live in Leeds..........

We went on the Train to cross the 4th Bridge one of Scotland's land marks for 122 years. We got off at Aberdour and a short walk into town we found the Forests Arms Pub & Woodcutters Restaurant. What a find that was from the great atmosphere ,the friendly greeting and the finest food. The home made soup was sooooo good.Great value I'd go Back anytime.

This traditional inn is modern but cosy and has great priced drinks, nice log fire in winter. The back lounge is a good size for functions and wholesome food and party buffet are reasonably priced.

I've eaten at The Foresters Arms several times now and I've yet to be disappointed! The meal deals are fantastic value - £6.95 for a starter and main! The Soup of the Day is fresh EVERY day and always different - and I've sampled things I'd never heard of before.Louise & Jonny are very friendly, extremely helpful and service is always prompt. This is somewhere we've taken the kids and they are given all sorts of colouring books to keep them entertained before dinner arrives after. Kids portions are good and plenty of eating too.If you're in Aberdour - this little family-run restaurant is a must. And you'll leave with a full belly AND wallet!

My boyfriend and I often go for days/nights out at the Forrester Arms (Forries) and on many occasion have had their 'half-time chilli or stovies' which have been excellent so seemed like a no brainer when we decided to try their new restaurant. It was good honest home cooked pub grub and was great! Really good value and the owners were lovely. Have since been for a private birthday party and the buffet provided was excellent too!! Would highly recommend!

Went for steak night but extremely disappointed. Asked for medium steak but was more rare.Few soggy chips, hard peas and two underdone soggy onion rings. No salad as advertsed. Food was also cold. Asked for a prosecco and was told had no cold ones . Was given small one off top shelf behind bar but when I opened it it was completely flat and very yellow so I think it must have been on the shelf a long while! Lady opened big bottle which again came from top shelf so was not cold but was bubbly. Can't believe there was no bottles in wine fridge. Sticky toffee pudding was good though. Seeing as there was just one other couple in the restaurant there really was no excuse for steak meal being so poor as kitchen not rushed. Won't be rushing back!!!

Great location on the Old Course. Beautiful modern terrace on the top floor with stunning views across the fairways to the sea. So wanted to like this place but were disappointed. Food was standard golfing fare - steaks and lobster - OK but nothing special . Wine list reasonable for price and choice. What lets the place down is the lack of management oversight. Tables with broken legs, jet lagged golfers asleep in the lobby, incredibly noisy ambience all overseen by a well meaning but overwhelmed serving staff. Not what you expect when paying $400 for a meal for two. Dinner took three and a half hours. We had to track down staff to order wine, coffee and get the check. Could be a good dining alternative to the Old Course Hotel but its let down badly by the service. Seems its owned by one of those absentee investment companies and it shows .

When the weather turns cold, shops closed, you don’t want a restaurant, just a cuppa, Alexander and George will make you welcome. Enticed by the chips! Feel much better now. Thanks guys!

Had afternoon Tea today(Sunday). The view is stunning, overlooking the golf course and the Forth. We had to wait around 10 minutes and received 4 types of sandwiches, a plain scone and fruit scone and a variety of cakes. The scones were some of the best I’ve ever had- warm from the oven, the cakes were light. We received a bottle of water and large pot of tea but had to ask for glasses. The toilets were a bit more dated than the restaurant but clean

Arranged to meet friends here for a lunch and a catch up. This is a very popular visit with very pleasant surroundings through a very large conservatory contributing to a very well lit area. There are a number of tables within the conservatory and your extensive menu is on the table. There are hot and cold food choices ordered at the server and brought to your table. We opted for chicken and rice soup and tomato and vegetable soup. To accompany the soup we ordered cheese and onion toasties and cheese and ham. We had carrot cake put aside for later that was the last of it. The chicken soup had a distinct homemade stock flavour with generous amounts of chicken through the rice and veg. The toasties came with crisps and side salad and coleslaw on the side. They were very well cooked with a generous filling. Finally the piece de resistance the home baking carrot cake came bursting with flavour very moist and topped with a very sweet icing. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.
