Absolutely ridiculous restaurant. Charged us for the Chutney. It's written outside that you can bring your own bottle. However, they force you to order Main course otherwise they raise their voice and taunt. Very poor service

Went with a group of 9 people. Great!!! Service was excellent and ordered. Food was so authentic and very good. Prices were affordable- good job or I'd have been doing dishes behind the scenes! Place was small but catered for many. Great atmosphere! 10/10

I'm not the biggest fan of spice but somehow they make it tasty and manageable, absolutely gorgeous food!

The food was excellent and extremely well priced. Our waiter was warm with us, made us laugh but was not overbearing. The resteraunt doesn't serve alcohol but are fine with you bringing your own from home, which is unique. Overall a great dining experience.

🥲🥲🥲We ordered Tikka Masala and butter chicken. The Tikka masala looked like it had a lot of food coloring or something because it didn't taste like species or anything. The butter chicken was a little bit better. The bread had rest of what it looks like other food that wasn't our food. That is when we stopped eating.😑😑😑 I wouldn't recommend this place

Called this Indian by mistake. Meant to be Bengal Dunfermline, Time I realised it was too late. Went to collect anyway thought I’d try it and the food was absolutely beautiful.

Ordered 3 dishes and all were completely different not a rehash of the same sauce. The dips for the poppadoms were extra tasty. Bring your own bottle, no corkage charge a bonus.

Ordered food for delivery, was almost 2 hours late. Called the restaurant a few times, was hung up on, delivery driver said he was only informed of the delivery 40 mins before dropping off. Food was then lukewarm although tasted ok. Really disappointing.

Terrible customer service can’t understand anything cause the background noise of the restaurant waiting hours for our delivery be told we didn’t answer door when they didn’t ring door bell or bang the door we are in a top four in a block two doors entering our flat stick to your local takeaways not even apology

We had a delicious takeaway from here! The portion sizes were just the perfect amount and the korma was so yummy! We recently moved to Dunfermline and were looking for a new takeaway place and we have now got a new favourite!

First time ordering from Bay of Bengal. Ordered via Deliveroo. ETA on app was 50min, but food was delivered in 30min!! Order was made evening of a week day, so kitchen was probably not too busy hence the speed of delivery. First was suspicious but the food was fresh and hot. Excellent service will definitely order again!

We will not be back. Nothing good to say. Food order taken at least 15 minutes after arrival.....waited ages on drinks. Arrived 6.20pm Food arrived 7.30pm!!!! Went to bar and owner to ask for discount due to horrendous experience he said 1 hour OK and that they are busy. When the bill arrived charged for 5 poppadoms only ordered 3. When we paid he just kept saying that we are busy. My cousin told him that he had waited 40 minutes for a mango lassi he says that's normal. No discount not prepared to listen to our concerns and I told him I would be posting on media sites 😡😡

I ordered a 42 pounds of food, order confirmed with order number, 2 hours later, called the place, staff gave us the run arounds, then hung up on us three times, as soon as when asked the delivery driver phone number, the staff hung up again. I want my dog on money back

The best Indian restaurant, I have ever had. The foods is so delicious and all the staffs are so nice and friendly. Their tandoori dishes are just mouthwatering. Will go there again and again.

I normally love this restaurant and service is always fantastic. Portion sizes are always outstanding …. But tonight I waited nearly an hour and a half for my delivery. The driver said it was just made….. definitely not in my opinion as it was definitely not piping hot. To be honest, I think it was chucked together… the madras sauce I could have made myself in the time I waited . It is watery and the chicken is tough! The chicken tikka I ordered…. Well where is the chicken? It’s covered in onions and I dare say it couldn’t even fill an infant. Oh… and there were very strange crunchy bits in it… like it had been dropped on the floor and there was dirt attached to it. £20 down the drain as it has gone in the bin!! Absolutely disgusting tonight! So disappointing. I won’t be ordering again.

Meal for four last night at Bay of Bengal which was amazing. Tandoori mixed grill was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Accompanied by ample portions of beautifully cooked naan bread. Chicken Sagwala also full of flavour and succulent. Our waiter was excellent and so attentive, friendly and kept us entertained throughout our visit. Can’t wait to return!

First and last takeaway from the Bay of Bengal. Ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala which was unrecognisable as a Tikka Masala. It looked liked lumps of chicken floating in Heinz Tomato soup but not as tasty I'm afraid. First time I've had a Tikka Masala where the overwhelming taste has been of coconut. Quite honestly inedible. The Chicken Biryani dish was only marginally better but was again practically inedible with an overpowering smell and taste of salt but little in the way of spices. Massively disappointing and an experience not to be repeated.

This place is beyond amazing highly recommended

just ordered from this restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious! out of all the indian restaurants here, this has to be one of the best. i totally recommend the garlic chicken, it’s bursting with flavour that you can’t stop eating it! chicken tikka biriyani was amazing, overall the experience was great 10/10 definitely recommend you try it you’ll love it. 😊

Been staying at a nearby B&B so I came here for dinner. Excellent food will come again when I'm back in town.

Ordered food 5pm delivery time was due 5;50-6;10. Half past 6 spoke whit staff and been told that the driver is on the way, after an hour call them one more time and been told that the driver is going right now. Best thing when the driver arrived at 7:30 I been told to F..k off really no words to say havn't even try the food lost my appetite.

Enjoyed my evening here. One of the best Indian food I had.

Excellent food. Garlic chicken tikka was awesome - 10/10. Tandoori Lamb Chops - 9/10. Love green chillies? Why not try - North Indian Garlic Chillie Chicken - 9/10. I tried Nan bread in so many places all over the UK, must say honestly - one of the best soft real Nan bread you can taste in here. 10/10

Took hubby for a birthday treat, food was lovely and good service we chose from the set menu and portions were really good, so much so we took a doggy bag home

Ordered a set meal takeway. Nan bread missing from order. Totaly spoiled our meal . They did howevet turn up with the missing nan 45 mins later, was a nice gesture but meal was spoiled

The food here was average but tasty.... unfortunately This restaurant closed suddenly before Christmas 2017 and no sign of reason why? Still closed at August 2018

Had a Christmas Day confirmed booking, on arrival restaurant closed. Looks like an abandoned business! No response to our emails. Had to give it a star to post the review, shame you don't get the option -stars

Went last week for a meal and were totally impressed so ordered a takeaway. Great service- however very next week we are still waiting for our takeaway 2 hours after placing the order and numerous phone calls later but just going to answerphone!!

Only ever had takeaway option from here. Food is a bit more expensive than normal takeaway but the food is lovely. It takes a bit longer for the food to be made but that will be a sign of freshness.

Got takeaway it was awful lamb had bones it was also full of fat and grizzle the food was cold on arrival and the sent the wrong bread I phoned to complain and they were so rude refused to do anything about it and it was expensive never again!!!

Best Indian food I've ever had but prices are steep.

It looks a well-kept restaurant, but I have only had take aways from it. A large order for a big family get-together arrived at the time specified. It was very varied: prawn dishes, several vegetable curries, dahl, breads, rice, crisp poppadums. Spicing was very varied, the dishes were hot, and the portions generous.

Whether you are wanting a takeaway (which we often do) or a sit down meal then this is a great choice. The food quality is excellent and service matches. We've been ordering a few years and have never been disappointed. There's a real authentic flavour to their dishes and they will tailor to suit individual preferences. We've had the buffet on Sunday evenings also and really enjoyed. We struggled to find a good value, authentic flavour takeaway when we move to DB. Glad to say this is the place.

We regularly go and turn up and get a table. Friendly staff, always accommodating ? Food yummy. Popodums and dips are moreish, onion bhaji yum. I always get a biryani and take half home for tea the next day as huge! Good reliable food, highly recommend.

We decided to go here at the last minute, after a Christmas shopping trip. The restaurant was quiet but the food freshly cooked and service good. The staff are welcoming and there is an option to have a cheaper lunch menu, if you so wish. Good value.

Went here for family birthday last minute. Was very impressed! Normally eat at kushis and can't see passed it but the food here was great. Fresh hot and crispy starters, lovely spiced onions and dips. Curries were quite hot with huge green chillies in but very tasty. The sag aloo I had was wonderful, really fresh and creamy.We will definitely be back and can't wait to order a takeaway one weekend either.

We bought a meal for 5 people from here recently... 4 main courses, 3 rice, 1 naan, 1 chapati and 4 poppadoms... That was more than enough to fill us all. We were all happy with our choices apart from 1: we thought Dansak should be a mild/medium spiced dish but the vegetable curry we received was very hot. Perhaps it's a regional variation but this was not the same level of heat as at home. It didn't spoil the meal but less of the Dansak was eaten than any other dish! Overall a great meal, good value, enjoyed by the whole family, thanks! Incidentally both the vegetarians and the meat eaters were happy!

Lovely bright restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very polite and friendly. The menu has a lot of dishes to choose from. I was here recently with family and we had a lovely evening, everyone enjoyed their food, saying its the best curry they've had in a very long time.

It's a small restaurant , very clean , very subdued music. Food is fabulous, very varied menu. Staff are very friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Was here for a family gathering. Very nice menu with lots of new dishes since I last visited.We tried the Bhuna platter and Tikka platter together with a Chicken Tikka Masala. All delicious and very good value. Service is very good and friendly. Everybody was satisfied with the night

This was the first time in many years that my wife an I visited the Bay of Bengal. We choose two main meals,Nepalese dishes ,and neither disappointed. Ample servings at very reasonable prices. I found it difficult to fault the experience in any way and would highly recommend.

£11.95 for a prawn curry containing 4 prawns? We mentioned this to the owner and his excuse is that prawns are expensive. Unlikely we will be back and that is a shame.

I have had take away from this restaurant a few times.The food has always been delicious and large portion sizes. Last time I ordered the chef even made my favourite sweet coconut paratha, which isn't on the menu, it was delicious. The staff a polite and accommodating.

well the food was ok the service was ok the price was ok but the toilets where disgusting. You can only imagine what the kitchens might be like.

We have lived in the Bay for a number of years but for some reason had not visited this restaurant until last Saturday.Everything from the service, delicious food and ambiance of the restaurant was enjoyable. We will certainly return soon.

Ordered for a pickup. Food was ready on time and they were busy. Portion sizes good value. Sampras nice and crisp as were the samosas. Only down side was poppadums were broken but aside from that nice.

The Sunday buffet evenings are good value, the food excellent and the dishes regularly refreshed. Midweek can be a little quiet in the restaurant, but this is true most everywhere and doesn't detract from the quality of food or service.

20 minutes late, missing the pilau rice, pakoras were cold. Started it anyway, but it turned out that the bhuna had the taste and consistency of wet cardboard, and without any pilau rice I had nothing to go with it. The biryani similarly lacked the taste I expected from countless others in the past - the veg curry sauce that came with it was indistinguishable from the bhuna sauce. I sometimes wonder why people I know dislike Indian food; maybe they just ate here. Absolute waste of £26.50. Maybe eating in is better, but I'm unlikely to risk the money again. I'll take the drive into Edinburgh for a superior meal instead.
