The Prince restaurant in Fife

Absolutely delicious yet again, best naan breads in the country. We went as a big family for the banquet which is all brought to your table. A selection of starters and then you choose your main courses. We had garlic chilli chicken, chicken korma and extra hot madras. They also bring poppadoms and sauces too plus rice etc and then ice cream for pudding. Delicious. It is worth noting that while kids eat free on a Sunday, this has recently changed and no longer counts if you have a banquet. Only when each adult orders a separate meal, we did not know this prior to ordering. They also do a really good lunch menu that we usually have.

Excellent food and service at a very reasonable price. Weekly visit. Love Ali and his staff. Can't do enough for you 💙

Visits to this restaurant for the special lunch are always a great experience. Food is always really good and the service attentive. The interior isn't the most up to date but the food and service are the main attraction.

Stopped off for an impromptu lunch. The staff were attentive,. We opted for the traditional lunch menu, 3 courses for £8.95. The food was delicious. We had chicken wings, mushroom pakora, lamb bhuna and chicken chasni. Ice cream for sweet. We would visit again.

Took the family for a special lunch celebration, the staff couldn’t do enough to make sure it was a memorable occasion ! A booking of eight , starters were chicken pakora , chicken chaat and prawn cocktail , all delicious and piping hot ! For mains the selection were sizzling chicken tikka ( a must have)!!, South Indian garlic chicken tikka , chicken korma and a brave madras , all family members raving about how good theirs was ! 🤣 Delicious food and value for money , roll on our next trip ! I started to go back to The prince after not going for a while due to not being satisfied with the food, however it has totally changed, the food is delicious, always hot which is a must as I hate lukewarm food and the price is fantastic. The staff go well above and beyond to make sure you have everything that you need and nothing is too much for them. I love how I being the pregnant lady get extra spiced onions. 100% recommend to everyone

Visiting area as from lanarkshire and googled a few restaurants and came across this one. So glad I did food was delicious and fresh and authentic. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Poppadoms and spiced onions, Sharing starter platter, 2 main meals with rice and naan and an additional smaller portion of a 3rd main dish to share with a chapati and of course ice cream and a white coffee with juice for just 31.00 and on leaving was advised they do a lunch deal foe 6.95. So whether you are visiting or live in this area defo worth a try.

Fantastic service, from being greeted the moment we walked in the front door through the rest of our evening. Poppadums' and dips were brought to the table within minutes and drink orders taken quickly to allow us to relax while we chose from the menu. All the starters and main courses were beautiful, with Tandoori Starter for 2 on the sizzle plate being a highlight. Great value for money as well. I've used the Prince for many years and have never had a bad meal. Look forward to returning again soon.

1st time in Kirkcaldy, stumbled upon this gem of a place. Don’t be deceived by how it looks from the outside. The food is amazing and service excellent.

We’ve Just been to this wonderful restaurant for a meal . We had a 12 course dinner including 4 starters 3 main meals and a side dish. Pilau rice naan’s and chapati desserts and coffee all for 14 pounds a head. I’ve not eaten in any curry house with this quality and value ever. The staff are so kind and polite . Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience . We will see you again very soon .

Food was average service was poor. Tried to swap the desert for an orange n soda drink. Dont usually do dessert. My son is lacose intolerant so could not have the dessert as there was only 1 option. Manager was unacomodating so staff did not get tipped. Dessert was diabolical a teaspoon of icecream, absolutely pathetic. When you ask for very little and you get a no, you just don't want to go back, manager needs a lesson in how to keep customers happy so they want to return! Will try other Indian restaurants next time. Was advised they are better but more expensive.

Eleven of us went for a works doo. I’m sure most of the guys enjoyed their Indian meals. Me, having had a bad experience with Indian food in the past opted for a steak. It was tiny, over cooked and very thin. The pakora I had as a starter was good. As I say the Indian food the guys got, they all seemed happy with. If you don’t like Indian food then, as you would expect, the the Prince is not the place for you.

We happened on this place by chance, having been somewhat disappointed by the lunch choices in Kirkcaldy. All our starters were delicious and fresh tasting. Two of us had vegetarian mains (which were by far the better tasting options) and two chicken, with rice and naan. Too much for us to eat! It was really busy which is testament to its popularity.

Was here last night with my husband for our anniversary, we booked a table on Wednesday night so that we would get a free bottle of wine for booking in advance. Free popadoms while we looked @ the menu, ordered one starter to share & there was enough for 2 of us, mains were chicken tikka & lamb tikka with curry sauce, nan bread & pilau rice, couldn’t fault the meal or the service & it was quite busy as well. Can’t wait to go back, definitely recommend it.

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 25 years, even before it was the prince and iv got to say it just gets better and better. The staff are just so welcoming and friendly, they are always smiling. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody, all our friends have started eating here now, they always went to other Indian restaurant but they even say The Prince is a lot better. Definitely value for money

Just had a very good lunch at this local restaurant. The starter chat Patti was very flavoursome and served freshly out of the tandoor oven. Only 2 wings but large and juicy. My other had veg. pakora which she described as nice and crispy . The mains were again excellently cooked, one lamb rogan josh and a chicken bhuna. My nan was perfectly thin and perfect for a lunch. Do make time to visit. Service was efficient and friendly.

Only just remembered that I hadn’t posted my experience for Christmas Dinner. My husband & I booked for the 2nd year running & really didn’t expect the food to be as good as last year, well I was wrong, the food was amazing again, couldn’t fault anything from start to finish, the place had a good atmosphere as well & was very busy. Probably will book again for this Christmas, but will be back before then for our Anniversary in March, looking forward to it already!!!!

My partner and I regularly go to The Prince, travelling a 50 mile round trip. Food is amazing,we always get the Banquet meal, taking home our left overs for our dinner at home the next evening. Staff can not be helpful enough. 1st class place.

Second visit in ten days for a change from usual festive fare and we were not disappointed .The restaurant clean and brightly lit ,staff well presented ,courteous and attentive.We opted for starters of spiced mushrooms and one of chicken tika both of which enjoyed ,not forgetting the appetisers of popadoms and mixed sauces served prior ,it was nice to eat fresh popadoms as so often [elsewhere]. they can be stale as though they had been lying around for most of the day.Our second courses were a lamb tikka bhoona and a chicken tandoori with special sauce ,all excellent and very satisfying .Only critisism the background music could be a tad less down in volume but in fairness to restaurant it was a quiet night just after New Years Day! Have frequented the Prince on /off over many years but our last two visits have put it top of our list for a curry in Kirkcaldy at a reasonable cost.

3 course lunch for six quid. Nice vegetable pakora, tasty curries and well-cooked naan. The staff were quick and efficient. The mains lacked a little seasoning but nothing to complain about. You can spend a little extra for a wider choice of food for the set lunch, but the £6 one does the job. Excellent value.

Good extensive lunch menu offered- chicken pakora was freshly cooked. The kormas were good, but the Rogan Josh was disappointing and did not resemble any I had had before.. Nan's were very large. Plain was very good, but the Peshwari nans were wafer thin and spread with a red mixture, not peshwari as it contained no pistachio, raisins, etc.

The restaurant was quite empty, only a couple of tables filled. Good selection on the menu but food quite mediocre. Ok if you want a bite before hitting the town but not if you want to impress your date.

£6.95 for 3 course lunch- the food is delicious and piping hot. You cannot get better best chicken tikka I’ve ever had. Service is great and staff really friendly and helpful. Travel through from Glasgow because it’s the best. Also really great night menu at great price.

Having used this restaurant for over 6-7 years I was sad to see that the service was very poor and the portions of food have noticeably shrunk in size over the last 12 months.

We have been going to the prince for almost 11 years now (We miss Naz ). Love their dishes. They are so fresh and flavoursome. Fancied a takeaway tonight so had the meal for 2. Lots of it.We had lamb bhuna and lamb dopiaza. Also spicy pickles,the hot red sauce(??) and chicken tikka with salad. Changed the regular Nan for a garlic one. It was delicious,hot,and very quick. Love the Prince’s Indian banquet for 2 (would easily serve 4!) beautifully cooked food and so much choice. The special korma is excellent. Will order again soon.

Had a meal here as a party of four and while the food was pretty good I have only given it 3 stars as the service was very poor they got a few things wrong but no apology and the serving staff had no manners whatsoever if anything it all felt a bit strange as they did not speak hardly at all seem subdued and miserable when you go out for a meal you want to feel welcome I definitely would not visit again.

I came in here for lunch, and I could not believe how reasonable it was, two set menus for around £6 and £7 for three courses. The food was fresh, tasty and well-cooked. Lamb tikka came with a delicious curry sauce and giant fresh cooked naan bread. So good ! Excellent service, don't know how they do it for the price.

Went here last night for our Anniversary, the food was good but don’t think some of the staff speak very good English, ordered chicken tikka dansak for my main course, when it came it was plain chicken not chicken tikka, didn’t bother to send it back as I knew my husband would be finished his meal if I had to wait on tikka. Booked a table on the Wednesday so we would be guaranteed one also we were entitled to a free bottle of wine for booking early, when main courses came we had to ask for the wine, think that’s a bit embarrassing to say the least, they should know that you have booked early & just ask when you would like the wine, it tasted very good but wasn’t in a cooler so I drank it faster, lol. Little things missing like there was candles on the table but they weren’t lit. You do get free popadoms for starters which is good, the place was quite busy but if they want to keep it this way then I think they need to up there game slightly. (I was here on Christmas Day & couldn’t fault a thing then).

Visited Prince after not been for a long time and staff so welcoming. Ordered food and all was really good, staff very attentive making sure everything was okay. Will definitely return as really enjoyed and not too expensive. Wine was very good also and well chilled.

Another family visit to this very good indian restaurant. The food is great and if you book in advance your entitled to a free bottle of wine. We eat here around 3 times a month and you cannot beat the quality and taste coupled alongside excellent value for money. The staff are excellent so deserve a mention.

I went in for a business lunch, the lunch was £6.90 the diet Coke was £2.90, Chicken pakora starter, chicken Madras with pilau rice main was my choice. It came all at once. The starter was on the main meal plate, with the rice and some salad. The Madras was in the cast iron bowl. Not great service at all.

Had our Christmas dinner here, just the 2 of us myself & my husband, had booked for the 4 o’clock sitting. Glass of bubbly 2 start with, we had chicken pakora & mixed tikka for starters which we shared, I had chicken tikka for my main course, my husband had chicken rogan josh, we ordered a Nan bread & a rice to share, the portions were very big & presentation was spot on, for desert we had one strawberry sundae & one chocolate sundae, my husband then finished off with a coffee & mint, we were full 2 the brim & couldn’t possibly eat any more if we tried, the place was full with a good atmosphere. When we got the bill we were then presented with a Christmas card & a small box of chocolates which I thought was a great gesture. It was great value for the price, we WILL be back. Three of us had a brilliant meal. We all had chicken pakora as a starter. Main meal was the chicken tikka sizzler with madras sauce and medium sauce separate. The portion sizes were good and all in all meal was great. Good value as well everything was how it should be. Service was excellent.
