Usual excellent quality and service as always.

Booked a table for two whilst visiting St Andrews. Got prime position in the front window ! Have to say, credit where it's due, everything was excellent. The food was lovely, wine we had chosen perfect, and the service as it should be. We would certainly call again.

We had a lovely experience looking for a late night meal. We were offered a menu and a seat at a table while we chose (our takeaway). The host was so welcoming and the food was ready quickly and stayed nice and hot even after we’d had a round of drinks while we waited. We didn’t want to think it was too good to be true, but when we got home and tasted the food it really didn’t disappoint - it was fresh and very tasty! We’ll definitely order again, and maybe eat in next time! Thank you!

I was looking for a good Indian restaurant in st Andrews and I found tulsi. The food is amazing. The staff is very friendly and always very welcoming. Will definitely recommend everyone to experience their hospitality. Kudos ✌️🫰

Most horrendous experience I’ve had in a long time. First of all my starter was literally inedible. I asked for a prawn cocktail and once it arrived I was shocked to see that the chef had dumped roughly 2 ladles worth of sauce onto the salad, which consisted of supermarket lettuce and pre cooked prawns. I politely explained my issue to the waiter, he returned around 5-6 minutes later with another prawn cocktail however for some reason the chef had reduced the portion size to a third of what I originally had. On top of this when receiving our mains the waiter made a condescending remark asking me whether there was too much sauce which made me feel very uncomfortable. I ordered a beef teriyaki pad Thai for my main, and what arrives? Flipping greasy noodles that you get out of a 90p packet and tough bits of beef along with raw carrot, raw tomato and raw bell pepper. It was the strangest concoction I had ever seen, very very far from a pad Thai. The portion was tiny and I was left hungry. I will never ever be returning, the prices are extortionate, we paid £70 and there was only 2 of us. The waiters are rude. The chef is most likely drunk, and I hope this review steers you away from this hellhole.

Food is soo good, never disappointed

Unfortunatly I wouldn’t order from here again. It was one of the worst Indians I have ever had. Much rather go to Maisha on the other side of the road. The food was dry, hardly any spice or flavouring, the bread also had no filling and wasn’t nice. They cut corners and were over pricing it but taking away some of the spices. Tasteless, bland and much better elsewhere. Couldn’t even eat it the next day, just tasted like gone off onions because that’s all I could taste.

Service was good, nice welcome and food presented to time. Sadly, not sure how much 'home cooking 'employed, felt curry sauces with main courses and accompaniments possibly bought in but, sag aloo and mushroom bhaji sides good and appeared to be possibly cooked on site, fresh. I could be very wrong but this is my impression. My friends and I will certainly return. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic place! Restaurant is cosy and welcoming, modern style and a nice ambience. Staff are very polite and friendly. The food is excellent, beautifully cooked and very generous portions. Curry was fresh and spicy, with enormous king prawns. Fluffy rice and a giant naan the size of a family pizza! Superb price for everything.

We went as per google available time. In google showing open. When we went there its closed.

Take away order was wrong - no pilau rice included and only found out when home - ruined the meal as was too late and knackered to go back. Also asked for a mixed pakora and was given a haggis pakora - food was nice enough just very disappointed they didn’t give me what I asked for - basics! I won’t be back…

The food here is solid, and the portions are generous enough to leave you feeling full and satisfied. No complaints on that front. The service, though, was less impressive. Not a smile in sight, and the servers seemed about as interested in us as a cat watching paint dry. We also had an awkward experience with the bill—our plates were cleared, and we made eye contact with the servers multiple times, yet it still took about 20 minutes to get our check. Meanwhile, the table next to us (who arrived after us) got their bill quickly without asking. It’s not the worst place I’ve been to, but if you’re hoping for great service to go along with your meal, there are definitely better options out there.

Attended restaurant New Years Day for Dinner , was greeted by very friendly staff they where so attentive , friendly & nothing was bother. The food was beautiful, warm & very tasty had mixed pakora to start then shared chicken tikka was very filling . We were sat beside the radiator & the restaurant was very warm & I asked for this to be turned down within 2min it was done & made my dinner more enjoyable . 1st time here after many many visits to St Andrews & will defo be back ! Well done

Tulsi at St. Andrew was an utter disappointment and a waste of time and money. The service was shockingly poor staff were inattentive, unprofessional, and seemed completely uninterested in providing even basic hospitality. The food was beyond terrible the worst Indian cuisine I’ve ever had. If you value good food and decent service, avoid this restaurant at all costs. There are far better places to eat in St. Andrew that actually care about their customers.

I had the most disappointing experience at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to share my feedback. The food was absolutely subpar and in no way justified being called "Indian cuisine." The quality was poor, the quantity meager, and the flavors completely off. Every dish was overly sweet, lacking the rich, balanced flavors one expects from Indian food. To make matters worse, they used coconut cream in a tikka masala—an ingredient that has no place in this dish. It was a strange, unpleasant twist that made the meal even more disappointing. Overall, it was a horrible experience. The food was overpriced and failed miserably in both authenticity and taste. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for real Indian food. Complete waste of money.

Reasonable Indian food in St Andrews. Extensive menu and food was tasty enough - regular Indian or Thai fare. Service was OK. Reasonable value. It was off season, so fairly quiet and not much atmosphere. Overall it was OK.

The flavours were so distinctly different, and the various dietary requirements were no problem at all!

Have just had lunch here, Hussain was lovely and friendly, as was our waitress( sorry didn’t catch her name), nothing is a bother for them, 3 course start at 8.95, very big portions, restaurant is lovely and clean, we will definitely be back

This was really good. The staff were extremely nice and attentive. The food was great. Overall was a very easy experience and I would definitely go back.

After reading previous good reviews for Tulsi, decided to choose this Indian over the two other choices in St Andrews - so glad we did! A warm welcome and attentive service preceded excellent food - all freshly made with delicious flavours and accompaniments. Particularly delicious was a chicken tikka masala and butter chicken! Definitely worth a visit and we’ll be back on our next visit to St Andrews 👍🏻

We visited Tulsi on Saturday 19th with friends who were first time visitors to the restaurant.Once again Hossain and his team gave service of the highest quality. Friendly, knowledgeable and well paced. The food itself is freshly prepared and it really shows. The quality and generous portions give fantastic value and flavour Genuine Indian food at its best

I ordered delivery the “seafood platter”. The food I received is only sea bass marinated in this sauce. Not platter. It tastes very salty. The portion is very generous. The good things are the complements like salad and rice. They all go well to mild the heavy taste.

We were invited to this amazing restaurant by our friends Ally and Helen . The atmosphere, food and service were absolutely amazing. It’s one of the best Indian meals we have ever tasted , this is our new new place to visit in St Andrews 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Very pleasant experience here. Service was friendly, prompt and the atmosphere was quiet. The entrées were cooked to order and very flavorful. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone in the mood for Thai cuisine.

Our first visit to Tulsi was by chance and most definitely we were not disappointed. Initially the restaurant was very quiet but later it filled up with visiting golfers and patrons in search of takeaways. We selected two Indian meals and enjoyed the experience thoroughly. Staff were attentive and friendly. I am sure we shall be back.

Sizzling chicken was really nice (though it didn’t sizzle). We’re charged 4 pounds for a tiny bowl of steamed rice. Welcoming waitress, waiter with bad attitude in the background. Luckily he left us alone

Here are my thoughts on what I had: Poppadoms - Decent taste and flavour. Lamb Rezala - My favourite dish. Packed full of flavour and texture. Chicken Karahi - Also enjoyed this. Chicken Balti - My least favourite but still a reasonable standard. Overall, the waiting team were attentive, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was decent. If you are in St Andrews it's worth checking this place out.

Had an amazing dinner at Tulsi! The pilau rice was perfectly cooked, and the garlic naan was warm and delicious. The highlight was the royal garlic chilli butter lamb – packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. Everything was spot on. Will definitely be back!

Cibo tutto sommato buono ma dopo 1h40 di attesa per avere qualcosa da mangiare….non siamo riusciti a gustarlo davvero.

No delivery fee advertised and then when the food was almost here the delivery driver phoned and said ‘we forgot to add the delivery charge, it’s normally £12 but I’ll just charge you £10’. I feel this should be advertised as £12 delivery fee is very steep. Food wasn’t particularly nice either, most of it went in the bin.

One meal ordered would normally have pineapple in.. it did not. When order was taken, one rice and a nan were ordered. The other meals we ordered rice to suit and the waiter tried to upsell additional bread and rice but did not deliver what had been requested initially. We ordered poppadoms with sauces, additional cost £4ish, requested a mint sauce / yoghurt Inc in midlands usually at a 2.95 premium. It was a £182.00 bill and this costs them the appropriate tip and no apology for 10 minute wait for the rice and nan.

We noticed the sign outside for Indian and Thai food, 3 courses for £8.95, so went into the nice, clean-looking restaurant. We both decided on Indian food and I ordered potato fritters (which came with a really lovely dip), vegetable bhuna with naan, and ice cream. My husband had pakora, chicken madras and Ice cream. Everything was really excellent and plenty of it. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food arrived quickly. We didn't need any dinner in the evening. Can't wait to go back.

My buddy and I visited Hassan and his team for dinner. Opened after a break for refreshments the restaurant is beautifully laid out bright and airy Food is simply as good as Indian food gets Service is fantastic and value first class I’ll DEFINITELY be back

Estimated time was 21.40-21.00. showed as delivered on just eat so called restaurant at 21.10 to check where it was and they said delivery driver was on his way. Driver couldn't find house (quite difficult as holiday cottage) but found us after call

Just visited this restaurant after it has recently reopened. I opted for the Thai dishes and had the Lamb Massaman and garlic and ginger chicken. Both dishes made fresh and were very tasty. Was served by Hasan and is service was excellent. Please give this restaurant a visit

We ordered a takeaway for 9 people and picked it up. After spending a good amount of money you usually get some poppadoms or something added however this isn't a service Tulsi provides. Which is fine but it's nice to get something like that when you spend so much. The food was great, although portion sizes were small. I ordered the chill masala which was spicy, the way I like it. The fried rice contains a lot of veg so recommend the boiled rice. Nan bread was terrific.

We were served by a very rude man in the restaurant, the most obnoxious behaviour by a waiter we have ever seen. Would not recommend to anyone. Please avoid this place.

Great to get back to the attentive service and superb cooking at Tulsi. The lamb chops are a must and the lagers are long and cold.

Best Indian food I've had in St. Andrews.....ready for collection on time, piping hot, everything ordered was in bags (including some complimentary sauces/dips/salads/poppadoms) and it was DELICIOUS 😋

Service was very efficient. The vegetarian dish was over cooked and fairly bland. The prawn dish had big prawns which could have been juicier. The mushroom rice was very tasty as was the lemon rice.

Food was delicious, however the delivery driver tried to tell us that there was a mistake with the delivery charge of £4 and said that we should have paid £8. I absolutely would not pay £8 to have it delivered when we live so close and feel like he was trying to get us to give him more money.

Hassan and his team are a real family who always bring the most exceptional service. Other places in town (Maisha and Jhangir) do not even come close to the quality, service or experience. As a former St Andrews student, I would visit all of the above and Tulsi always stood head and shoulders above the rest. I've hosted large dinners of 50+ and intimate dinners with just 1 other person. Tulsi has always exceeded expectations. Very sorry to hear of the recent fire and saddened not to enjoy another meal when recently visiting. Look forward to dining there again soon!

My order- which at the time of writing this was placed at 6:00pm- has still yet to show. I phoned 3 times to get some clarity on when my food would be showing up. I was told it had already been delivered. It quite clearly hasn't. And when I phoned again to chase the food once more they would not let me voice my concerns. St. Andrews is a small town and they have delivered to me in the past. I do not believe that the driver got lost.

Overpriced meals but tablecloths and napkin looking good. Attentive service but food can be tricky. My point was rice with dried up vegetables ( like from the express packet) and squid which was first deep fried in batter then cooked in peanut sauce. Awful combination and again looked as if was from pre-prepared frozen stock which I don’t expect from that kind of restaurant. It was empty when other places were very busy- that should have sparked the warning.

The service was slow, the waiters weren't particularly friendly, the food was overly spicy for the people who ordered medium spicy foods, despite the fact they had previously enjoyed meals from there. The naan bread was still dough in places where it hadn't been cooked properly. They ran out of coke and Cobra beer. I won't be going back.

Attracted by the many TripAdvisor reviews we decided to give it a try but really I wished I hadn't bothered when I saw the pakoras: Clearly not freshly made, cold and dry. They didn't taste nice at all, especially the chicken ones. The main marginally better. Waste of what could have been a good evening.

Worst curry We’ve ever had-inedible. Ordered spiced onions to start which had obviously been made in 1998 then sat in the fridge since. Pakora undercooked. Both curries we had ordered were clearly not fresh, and looked as if they had been sitting for a long time,with a layer of oil on top the butter chicken. Only positive was the garlic naan,which actually tasted like it was fresh out the oven.. If you want a good curry experience,head to glasgow

Excellent food as always from Tulsi. More than acceptable delivery time and as estimated at time of ordering. My order was for 5 people it would have been most helpful if the items had been labelled. Packing into the carrier bags and or transport cold have been a little more considerate, minor spillage was encountered, however would this prevent me from ordering again most definitely not. Overall outstanding meal, Thanks

Had a really good meal back in July here sitting in. Exhausted by travel, we got a takeaway tonight. 2 for Indian, 2 for Thai. My beef (if it was beef) was totally tasteless and I ate only a couple of pieces before binning. My son's chicken teriyaki was dry and virtually inedible. The guys who got the Indian food were happy as it was uniformly tasty. Advice... Drop the Thai. We're unlikely to be back but think you're taking on too much. Oh... And we had to wait 1hr20mins for it. 15mins after the latest just eat told us it would be 😭😭

Very disappointed have ate in the restaurant many times and had takeaways from it and always had good food and service but tonight wow I will not go back. Was over an hour late (from the back end of time slot) so I phoned to check and they said they’d phone me back, 10 minutes later nothing heard back so I call again they ignored that I’d phoned previously and said it would be no more than 15 minutes they were very busy. 20 minutes later I phoned again had to explain for third time and she told me it was on my way and to call the taxi service who delivering it. No apologies or how they could make it better. When eventually arrived OVER AN HOUR late some Food was missing and was all cold/luke warm. Garlic and cheese naan was tasteless. Prawn Pasanda was like a watery slop. However we ate as was starving and assumed they would be no help on phone and we were starving. Absolutely gutted as was an £80 order as we had friends over we haven’t seen for a while. Will not be back. And hopefully receive a refund from Just eat.

The driver didn't call when they arrived to let me know the food was here, despite me asking them to(on the app). The just eat app didn't update except from they have 'accepted your order' to 'enjoy your food', the restaurant didn't call back after I phoned and asked where the food was? The food was tasty(ish) but nearly cold. Generally a 1/2 star performance all around. Shame as I'd rather not pay full price for bad service and cold food.

Superb food and service. I’ve been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The curries are very well made and truly authentic. The best naan bread I’ve ever had. Service is professional and attentive. Everyone in our party thought it was first class. Best food we’ve eaten this week by a mile!

This had been recommended to us and didn't disappoint. We ordered haggis pakora and garlic king prawns as starters to which I was informed quickly that the king prawns were off the menu so changed to tandoori chicken wings (chicken chatt). For the mains we ordered the lamb massaman thai curry with udon noodle and Jhalapani (also lamb) with pilau rice. All the food was delicious and the portions size spot on. Over the two courses we had three spirits with mixers each so when the bill came we were shocked that it was a lot less than we expected. The staff couldn't have more helpful and considering how busy the restaurant was we could forgive the time we waited between courses as our only gripe. In all great value, nice venue, nice staff and good food

Outstanding Indian food in St Andrews with excellent and attentive service.

Simply this is a very good indian restaurant in the cradle of golf and university boffins.We were staying in town 2 nights.On first night we were on a dinner search walkabout and chanced on this venue on Market Street. The food is delicious. I had Tandoori lamb tikka with all the trimmings, rice and Roti. My friend had Tandoori chicken off the bone and her husband whose not a spicy food fan had delicious fish and chips.I asked for an accompanying Patia sauce which i find compliments the lamb which was cooked to tender perfection This was one of my top lamb dish experiences ever in a lifetime of chasing good indian food. The restaurant has unique decoration being adorned in famous movie posters but in indian language. The staff were,friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. I thoroughly recommend a visit here if you are in town and fancy a delicious curry. Portions are huge, we had a lot of dishes including pakoras, poppadums, onion chutney and Roti bread. Our bill for 3 persons was £78. Worth it for the quality on offer.
