Amazing service and hospitality from Ian and the team. My friends and I had our car break down just as we got into Scotland, day 1 of our camping trip and they kindly helped us get into Glasgow to get back on track again, couldn't thank them enough 🙌🏽 Really appreciate it and if we're ever back in the area we will be making a pitstop. - Thanks once again. Great food too :)
Wife and I had lunch at the Glenbarr garden centre cafe. We were able to book a table online. The staff were really friendly and I had one of the best burgers I've ever had anywhere. Really tasty and succulent. Nice range of scottish produce in the shop.
Had a fantastic lunch up a Whitshiels today. Was nice to go up and sit outside and just watch the world go by.. staff as always are lovely and really look after their customers.. chilli beef was fab as always.. massive portions one thing for sure you never leave hungry. ♥️ xx
Regularly visit here with friends and family. Coffee is lovely and the staff are very welcoming. I witnessed a young girl, Abby chatting to an elderly gentleman about his wife being unwell. She took her time with him and offered a listening ear. That’s what blend is all about for me. 👏👏👏
I’d love to make some comment here about the quality of the food, but I never got to try it. Two of us went in and ordered mixed kebabs, after 10/15 mins one of us was served, of course I naively expected mine to come pretty quickly. After 5 mins I asked the waiter where mine was, he went to the kitchen and an arguement seemed to ensure with lots of pointing at our table, then he came over as said my order had been sent to someone else and they were making me another one (fair enough mistakes happen). After 20 further mins, I said to the waiter I’d now waited longer than the original order took, twice I asked to speak to the manager and twice he just looked over at us and literally walked the other way. I understand that mistakes happen, but was is appalling is pretending they haven’t happened and managers or owners just ignoring it. If you want my advice, visit somewhere that values your custom more
We needed to buy some last-minute desserts for vegan visitors. The shop had closed but the owner saw us and opened up the shop for us. We told him what we needed and he took us through everything that could fit, not rushing us in the slightest. The shop had a great range of vegan desserts and we managed to get exactly what we wanted. Very friendly and personal customer service. We will definitely be back.
Lovely bar and restaurant with great views. The staff were all lovely and friendly. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty and at a reasonable price. Would definitely call again.
Wow this was the best Indian food I have eaten, the service was excellent and the food was delivered to us quickly. The food was so tasty with just enough quantity. I can’t recommend the restaurant enough, I can’t wait to come back!!
My wife and I celebrated our silver wedding in the summer and a friend bought us a gift card with lunch for 2.
The excellent parts:
The scenery, the drive along the loch side, the location - simply gorgeous looking out of the window whilst eating. The service. Highly relaxed and informal. Lunch was 2 hours. The Italian waiter was friendly and professional.
The food was exquisite. Home baked bread with nasturtium seeded salt in the butter. I had duck, my wife had mackerel to start. Mains were pork for my wife and monkfish for me. Desert was a lick the plate clean chocolate cremeux for me and cheeses for her.
The not so excellent parts;
Nothing. At all.
Fine dining of this quality with cookery skills like this and these flavours to luxuriate in, in this gorgeous setting… for £35 each??? I’ve paid double that in Edinburgh.
We had earmarked this place for breakfast one morning and rushed to get down before they stopped serving brekkie at 11:30. We arrived just after but they managed to accommodate us. As I ordered a full Scottish for my husband, I was absolutely delighted to see a gluten-free breakfast listed on the menu. Even the sausage was GF! Other coeliacs might understand that a GF snag is often a bonus when looking for a full fried breakfast. The breakfast arrived with orange juice and a pot of tea as well. Mine was absolutely brilliant. The added addition of haggis (which was not listed on the menu) was a treat since it’s rare to find gluten-free haggis anywhere.
Tea was piping hot, the service was impeccable and overall we really enjoyed our visit. Lots of locals with the dogs popping in while we were there and it was nice to see lots frequenting the café. We thought it might be difficult to find somewhere open on a Monday, and indeed some other places were shut, but we were delighted to find Caroline’s was open. Very clean toilets as well.
Found this little place on google maps and wasn’t disappointed. Great beers all served as a third of a pint within a cosy building. Can definitely recommend the Black Isle IPA. There is also a small menu of burgers, which were very tasty and reasonably priced. All in all a very happy find and I shall return when I’m next in Edinburgh.
Our first visit and won’t be our last. Welcomed by the amazing Wendy who showed us to our table. She was so friendly and attentive during our visit. She is a great ambassador for the company. Menu is varied and caters for all tastes. Great atmosphere and we will be back soon. A must visit location when in the area.
