Wife and I had lunch at the Glenbarr garden centre cafe. We were able to book a table online. The staff were really friendly and I had one of the best burgers I've ever had anywhere. Really tasty and succulent. Nice range of scottish produce in the shop.

It was lovely to see the Stores had re-opened and the Greenhouse space had been very invitingly laid out. Service was excellent and the food was tasty. As it had only just re-opened, there maybe wasn't quite as much choice as previously, but what we had hit the spot. Great smoked salmon platter and a Ploughman's with enough cheese to satisfy the most demanding of appetites! Staff brought water for the dogs without having to be asked, which is always a nice touch. I hope that now that's it's open again, it goes from strength to strength as it's a lovely place to break up a trip down the Kintyre Peninsula.

Lovely place to stop for lunch. Nice table outside and friendly service. Ploughman’s lunch was delicious- local cheeses, home made bread and local ham off the bone, served with chutney and garnished with a nice fresh salad. Home made burgers went down well and so did the ham/cheese paninis both served with a side salad. Gods selection of home made cakes- Victoria sandwich made with fresh cream and strawberry tart was delicious. A lovely lunch in the sunshine. Recommended.

Passed by many times in the past few years but today made a point of going in for tea and cake. Not disappointed! Lovely venue, lovely staff and lovely tea and homemade cakes! We’ll be back to sample more! Some really nice food in store which on another visit we’ll buy, nice garden centre also but not for us this time. Peaceful atmosphere with delightful sparrows chirping in a sun trap outdoor area.

Our group of four decided to visit this place after seeing the big brown tourist signs to Glenbarr Cafe and Garden Centre on the A83 just north of Campbeltown. After seeing the front of the shop, which was just like a small village stores, upon entering, we were met with a very impressive and very well stocked gift shop and post office, and through the back doors was the garden centre and cafe area. All I can say is, what a genuine surprise it was. The cafe itself is very clean and tidy, and has a large and varied menu. Anything from sandwiches, soup etc, on to larger meals and the most tasty cakes. All the staff, both at the gift shop and post office, through to the cafe and garden centre were so friendly and welcoming. This place is an absolute joy. We went back again the next day for our lunch and enjoyed it just as much as we had done the day before. When we are down that way again, it will definitely be paying them a visit. I thoroughly recommend this place.

Out for a run today, popped in here. We were lucky to be served - we hadn't booked (mustn't forget next time). Had soup (lovely, homemade) and sandwiches (delicious bread, packed with meat filling), followed by coffee. Fantastic, we'll bring friends here next time, when I'll have to sample the cakes - they looked absolutely scrumptios! Staff very friendly, especially the lady at the front desk, who told us of the history of the shop.

Recommended when we visited family in Campbeltown. Found it difficult to locate online and on trip advisor but not to be missed! Signposted Glenbarr stores and garden centre with cafe sign from the A83. Double entrance on loop road through village. In my opinion easily missed as we have passed numerous times and not visited. However, after today’s visit we will be back again when in the area. We booked a table online and were seated inside after a wander around the plant area. A lovely selection on the menu for everybody, with coffees and alcohol served with our lunch. Really delicious food, great service and a lovely seating area inside and outside. Nice paintings on display and a store with local produce.

We visited as a family of 5 on Tuesday last week. Right from entering the store the welcome was amazingly rude (not just unfriendly but pointedly rude), but as we’d made a special trip we decided to stay. The older woman at the front store desk grunted at us and gestured with her head to show the direction of the cafe. We took a table in the otherwise empty restaurant and were lignite for 10 minutes until the same lady came through and gave us a row for not having gone inside to ‘give our names and everything!’. We had no idea.! The food we got was great and the setting lovely and the younger waitresses were neutral in their service (but the rude, grumpy one was definitely in charge and setting the tone, the others seemed terrified of her). Once we had paid our bill of £94 she completely ignored as as we passed by her counter on the way out, but very deliberately welcomed a local in by name, in a super cheery voice. All of our party commented on how rude this lady was and how she had made us feel. I wondered if perhaps she was having an off day, but no, people have been giving similar reviews since 2014.

It was very interesting to read some of the other reviews about this place as we thought it might have been a one off incident that we encountered. Lets just say this was one of the most unfriendly welcomes we have had in an establishment for a long time. There are signs outside saying about the numbers to be adhered to in the shop but there is no physical way of seeing numbers from outside. We set one foot in the door and was confronted by an angry cry of 'you'll have to get out and wait'. When we finally got in and asked about going through to the cafe we were greeted with ' well have you made a reservation?' Having answered with a no we were told to go through and ask as they may not have any free. Imagine our surprise when we arrived at an empty cafe!!! On the positive, the food was lovely, cakes looked amazing and the staff were accommodating. Something needs to be sorted with the entrance as, especially in these times, no one should be made to feel as unwelcome as we did.

Stopped at this lovely cafe for morning coffee this week. The coffee and scone were both delicious but I think the person who served me must have been having a bad day. Wow! I felt like an intruder in her space. A young girl working...

Found the cafe sort of by accident. Very tasty food. We had the roast beef ciabatta and beef burger. All prepared fresh to order and very tasty. Had a small taste of the soup, unusual taste is a fair description for it and not really...

The shop is filled with lots of lovely, expensive, things but very few "basics". Very nice glass bottles of cloudy lemonade but no Coca-cola? Unfortunately too no purchases under £10.00 for cards as I was informed that the bank charges a fortune, which I'm sure...

Cafe carries a small range of Paninis, baguettes and soups as well a home baked cakes. £7.95 for a burger is a bit pricey but we didn't try them so cannot comment on value as such.

After appalling service at Duck Bay we went here for lunch. Warmly welcomed. High chair for my grandson and the lovely waitress brought a bowl of water for the dog. Food was amazing and we were able to eat it indoors without being rained on because we had the dog (as happened at Duck Bay)! She also brought a treat for the dog. This place is fabulous and welcoming. Had a wonderful lunch and will definitely be back. 5 star service and food.

Seriously over rated & expensive. Stopped for a quick breakfast. Service was so slow that we'd finished a pot of tea by the time the food arrived. Ordered toast, avocado and poached eggs. Toast was cold, eggs cold and avocado had some sort of green sludge mixed through it with toasted oats and seeds on top. Not what was ordered. Not what was on the menu and I had specifically said I wanted something plain. Don't bother - it's not worth it!!
