A lovely spot for tea/coffee, snack/meal...polite attentive staff and a fine sea view!. would recommend...

Lovely stop for a drink or a bite to eat. We often come here to see the sea or sunset from the warmth. Great staff too.

At that time of day and good meal in quiet yet pleasant surroundings. Also able to see the table advert for dinner and dances with over night accommodation at readinable prices.

Quite hotel restaurant, due to us eating at 4 pm. Food good.

Was staying at hotel and often pop down to ayr just for the Sunday lunch omg it was even better than previous visits that was also amazing defo go here for food if in ayr its the best Sunday roast the ham was perfect and had a bit of my friends roastbeef staff are all so nice and helpful

Strange character was at the bar on arrival, didn't say hello, didn't actually acknowledge us or ask what we were drinking. Assumed he must've been a part time glass collector that had just got out of gaol with his social skills. But no, there he was serving 3 men that walked in after us. Bit odd. Nice views of the beach mind, when we finally got served by the nice duty manager, and sat down.

Had Sunday lunch. Staff very attentive. Food beautifully presented and tasty. £22 per head for 2 courses and drinks reasonable. Will return.

Fairly quiet when we went (Saturday lunchtime). Good food and reasonable prices considering the present economic climate. Very handy for the beach and the lang mile walk. Child-friendly.

Fantastic hotel. From when u walk in the door the welcome is brilliant from the staff. Beautiful large rooms and spotlessly clean. Have been a few times before and we will certainly be back. I suffer anaphylaxis and the chef pulled out all the stops to make me feel safe..thank you Mark

Lovely views, service and food. The Horizon is still a lovely hotel and venue. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food was good too and a good selection on the menu. The prices are fair too.

Lovely restaurant, but steak pie portion was small. One tablespoon size of mash, and meal served in a bowl! It tasted lovely, but disappointing presentation and size. Lasagne and chips portion was huge, wish I had that

We had a family meal and the food was lovely, service is a little slow but was ok as we were chatting.

Me and my partner took a drive to Ayr at the weekend and spotted this fantastic restaurant so we popped in for a bite to eat the food was fantastic the service was first class and very reasonable we enjoyed it that much we have booked in for a overnight in February I would highly recommend the vista Andy

Disappointing overcrowded therefore poor service the meat was tough both the turkey and beef. Not me plus expensive for what we got.

Nice place, looks like it has been recently done up. A group of us went in for tea, coffee and scones afterawalk. They were very nice and very good value.

Very pleasant breakfast experience

Food was great! Although sticky toffee pudding had a slight burnt taste to it, thats the only thing that was wrong with the whole meal. Tempura fantastic, lasagne very tasty and side salad plentiful. The steak pie was very good aswell, plenty of gravy and the meat very tender, silky mash potato. Kids portions very good, they had macaroni and fish, both delicoùs!, perfect crispy batter on beautifully cooked fish. Will definitely be returning for a meal in the future 😁

Saturday at the horizon hotel in Ayr. They do a special deal . Saturday night cocktail special . 2 courses from menu plus a cocktail from cocktail menu .all for just £16.95 . Great deal . Food was great . And cocktails were great too.

We were looking for somewhere different and found here. Very pleasantly surprised food was excellent staff very pleasant. 2 course lunch menu fantastic value at £9.95 could not fault it.

Not cheap but very nice. Food was excellent though maybe too much for our appetites. Tables were spacious and the chairs comfortable. The service was fine This was on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was quiet, so I can't say how they would have coped at a busier time.

Service excellent. Location very good. Food very disappointing. Visiting Scotand I wanted haggis neeps and tatties. Four small crusty balls of supposed haggis neeps and tatties and a side salad consisting of mostly peppers. Hardly a main course.

Fantastic service and great staff so friendly right from the word go even the welcoming was fab also giving my dog a dish of water next to my table in area set aside so that dogs are not in the restaurant clever hotel catering to dog owners needs and the dogs . Oh yes my meal was ACE chicken satay stick yum yum my daughter had prawn cocktail my wife had king prawns mains were fabulous also happy DAD and DOG OWNER 10 OUT OF 10 .

Very close to the beach less than 200 yards,good food.
