Very welcoming staff. Good selection of cakes

A bit high priced but enjoyable would go back to eat there again.

Great family cafe. Excellent menu with dishes for all ages. Friendly and efficient service. Playhouse on site for toddlers and young children. Located in a riding school. Horses and donkeys to see nearby. Wonderful.

Staff are so lovely and helpful. Place is lovely and amazing for kids. Unfortunately, badly let down by kitchen. Options we chose were drowning in mayo. Cheap and sparsely used cheddar, and dry salad with no dressing. Wasn't as poor on previous visit, and wouldn't return which is a shame given location and service.

Disappointed with food options. No vegan or healthy options and the food quality was not that great. However the setting is beautiful. Really think this place has sooooooo much more potential if the owners choose. 🥰

Great cafe and the prices are really reasonable. Loved having a walk around to see the animals there (horses, goats, rabbits) and it's only a 5 minute drive from Mugdock Park to finish off the day at the play park. Not sure the name of the lady who served us (black hair with a side fringe) but she couldn't be any more accommodating and lovely. Highly recommend.

So I saw this place on tiktok and thought we would take our wee guy to see what it's like. Lovely wee place. It's also next to a horse riding school, which you can walk down a little path to and pet some of the horse and watch the kids/adults in their lesson. I saw on tiktok that they have rabbits and gineau pigs that kids can pet, but it was windy and cold on the day we went. The cafe itself is a good size. Nice and spacious. They have a little area for the kids to go play whilst you can enjoy a nice hot beverage or a bite to eat. Staff are lovely, too! Maybe when the better weather kicks in, we will pop back over.

Food wasn't anything special. Prices were a tad expensive for what it was. Nice location and staff were friendly

Loved this place, great for a lunchtime meet up with friends.

The setting is fantastic, a bright, clean and warm space, nicely presented and welcoming. Fantastic views of the Campsies. Fun play area for the kids with loads of toys. Service on the day we were there was slow and inconsistent. Coffee was weak and breakfast roll came with cold-lule warm filling. I'm sure they can do better, will try again sometime.

I am a regular customer at Oscars with my 3 year old granddaughter who loves to see the horses and play in Chloe's corner. We enjoy the food and service is fine. However I was there recently and discovered the play area has been moved and a roof added on. It has made it nigh on impossible for adults to be in there with the kids, some of whom want a carer in with them to play with. A child in there cannot see their carers easily, nor can the carer keep an eye on the child! This can turn the visit into a series of comings and goings between child and carer, not ideal for a cafe. The previous area was super and am sorry to say that the new area, for me anyway, has more against it now than for it. Shame. Ps my 3 year old granddaughter is almost touching the roof.

Lovely views. Surly service. Overpriced. UPDATE Yes, I did go back because the kids love the horses and I needed a cup of tea... Re HMCA's review from August our table was cleared TWICE of food/drink that we hadn't finished (once while I took the wee one to the play area and again when we went to the loo - I left a bag/jacket behind to indicate we hadn't left). Wondering if it was the same member of staff whose response to my complaint was downright rude. Another member of staff (management?) intervened and deducted a small amount from the bill but didn't speak to me. Some customer service training is badly needed.

UNFAIR REVIEW! As regular visitors to Oscar's, we enjoy the food, ambience and friendly staff at this cafe, so were saddened by the negative review left by HMcA on Thursday 17th August. We were present that day and would say, in the words of someone more famous, "recollections may vary". The cafe is undoubtedly child- friendly but it is fact that the noise level that lunchtime was horrendous and the waitress (a lovely lady btw) was entirely justified in asking for consideration for other customers (with or without children of their own). She did not deserve the rude and humiliating replies she received from these three mums, nor the nasty and sarcastic comments in their review. This trio have vowed never to return, for which we can all be truly thankful.

Amazing scenery, friendly staff and variety of choices on the menu to suit all dietary requirements. Lovely terrace outside that’s dog friendly in the nice weather with stunning views. Great cafe for all.

NOT BABY FRIENDLY -AVOID. We went for lunch as 3 mums with young babies all under 1. Despite there being a lot of other children there playing in the play bit we were told by a rude waitress to keep our babies quiet and that they were making too much noise 😑 none of our babies were crying they were just happily babbling away to each other. Not that it would matter even if they were crying, they are babies it's not exactly possible to stop a baby making noise and why would you even want to when they are happily babbling away?! Absolutely shocked that a place that advertises itself as a children's play cafe could ask its customers to keep their babies quiet...clearly this staff member thinks children should be seen and not heard 🙄. The manager was extremely apologetic about her member of staff and asked her to apologise to us to which we recieved a sorry not sorry apology. Let's hope that member of staff is kindly asked to find herself a job at a library or something more her noise level. Anyway we won't be back and we definitely would not recommend! Having been to most cafes in the area with our babies and never recieved anything but warm welcomes we won't be visiting oscars again! If I could leave 0 stars I would!

Good for kids but not great ambience.

Lovely aspect in Mugdock area. Fun to see horses being trained in the stable grounds immediately outside cafe. Would have given food higher rating, but my scone, though nice, was a bit dry. Small criticism. Great, friendly staff. Lovely to sit in the cafe and spend an hour or two chatting over a coffee and cake

Food is mediocre and on the pricy end for what you get. Not for me I guess. Kids were happy enough tho’

Service slow but a lovely place to visit

Although they have a play area for children, my 16 month old grandson was apparently making too much noise according to the waitress who had a complaint from 2 elderly women ! Not a pleasant experience and won't be back

Best All day breakfast, ever! Really delicious lentil soup and the softest bread I've had. Lovely, friendly staff, very attentive. Nice to walk round and meet the horses and ponies and watch them exercise whilst having lunch. Only comment would be that my mum in law had to turn her hearing aids down as the music was too loud for her and the acoustics in the room echo so she couldn't hear us....🤷🏼‍♀️

The cafe is in a beautiful location but it is run essentially like a very noisey nursery! No quiet chats, the menu is mediocre, prices high and service is slow. We will not recommend and not be back.

Enjoyed fab views of the Campsites from a sunny spot outside. Panini were good; we'll need to return to try the scones.

We entered the restaurant and waited over forty min. for someone to come and take our order but it never happened, not the first time we were treated like this.Strange the tables around us were served. I've never felt as bad as today, I don't know where the problem is, especially since it's not the first time. And we were there every week. Once a lady pointed out to me that you order at the table when the waiter comes up, since then I don't order at the counter anymore. But maybe better place the order and then sit at the table then you are sure that you will get 😊. We just left not being served. I thik it was our last visit there.

Excellent place for all ages. Granddaughter enjoyed her first horse riding experience there and 4 adults and 3 children enjoyed a meal in adjoining Oscars afterwords. High chairs too. Recommended.

First visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. Baked potato tasty as was apple pie. Staff friendly. Great place for kids with play area- which kept them amused and allowed adults to chat. Also animals for children to see outside. Overlooks where horses exercised so that wad interesting. Will definitely return

My friend and I love to visit Oscar's Tearoom It's very bright and cheerful indoor surroundings, with pleasant staff. Normally wee prefer to sit outside, to receive fresh air, observe the outdoor views over looking field's and Campsie hills. And a little walk around the stables, and the small furry animals..Such as rabbits and Guinea pigs etc. It's a very calming uplifting environment Where you feel relaxed. However, recently just a few things I were not happy with. Aware not normally been like this. I attended prior for a breakfast, A roll with sausage links and coffees. Coffees arrived, how ever it were a 45min wait, with 3 times approaching staff to remind re the roll and sausage. I were advised it were returned to kitchen on latter conversation Eventually received. A roll with square sausage. It was a wait and would be nice to consume foods with coffee around same time preferences Attend Oscar's few days ago. For coffees again sitting outside Tearoom quiet Table outside had used dishes and spillages on it. Including food . How ever only table available Coffees arrived placed on to dirty table dishes left. I noticed staff member clearing cups from a empty table after serving our coffee and leaving table full of dirty dishes and spillage.. Other customers dishes I politely asked could dishes be removed and table wiped. Dishes were removed However, table was not attended to and cleaned. I had to consume coffees with friend at that dirty table..where i used my own sanitizer to wipe table We eventually had to move To a clean table once available Higiene is important, after tables used and cleared they require to be disenfected... Hence prevent cross infection. I will return to Oscar's as I do enjoy my visits. Just disappointed in those latter visits.

Awesome little Cafe located within an Euqestrian School. Can sit inside or outside on a nice day and enjoy the green and serene environment. Watch the Horses. They have some farm animals too which the kids loved. Their coffee and selection of cakes is Awesome and their menu is extensive enough. I've eaten here many times and the food never disappoints. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Lovely wee place for a nice lunch out.

We love coming here with our 2 year old, the café is great with beautiful views. We always visit the horses and poneys in the stables and see the goats. Great place to take young children. Poney rides available from 3 years old.

Lovely place with beautiful sceneries. The homemade soup is good. Their scones is one of the best was so delicious 😋 ladies working in the cafe are so friendly.

I was there yesterday for the first time. Lovely surroundings and very friendly efficient staff. I had the cheese and ham omelette and my friend had a sausage in a roll. They were both well cooked. The menu is good and so much cheaper than Caulders which is nearby. I enjoyed it so much that I'm taking my husband for the all day breakfast.

Haven't been before but will definitely be back. Staff are friendly and food was lovely. Child friendly so ideal for a day out.

Lovely place to bring small and big kids (adults) to.. lots of animals to keep children occupied.. can also watch horses been ridden and go see them in their stables.. food in the cafe is spot on with dairy free vegan vegetarian all been served you only have to ask.. alwaysncome here when we come to visit granddaughter and family... we enjoy it just as much as the small ones xx

Nice place for a family meal. Play area for the wee ones, and pets outside for the kids to see. Food is good, and well priced for the area. However, we waited nearly an hour for our order to arrive. The staff failed to advise us of the long wait, and when the food did finally arrive, some dishes were missing. Even after we notified them of this, our order still wasn't fulfilled. Worse still, when I went to pay, the missing items from the order were still on the bill. Kitchen and service have a lot to learn still. Very young compliment of staff, but no sign of any senior members to guide them in this area of service.

Just back from lunch , which was excellent. Staff attentive but not intrusive. Play area for small children which is enclosed, means mum and dad or grandparents can have their coffee in peace.! Will definitely be back for lunch again......menu not huge but enough variety.......if you want cake you are spoiled for choice.

Location? Stunning. Food? Tasty. Team? Attentive. Parking? Easy. Facilities? Excellent. Only one thing they need to fix and it will then get 10/10 from me. At this early stage in the life of Oscars they need to introduce some sound deadening as the sound in the room is just too 'bright'.
