I visited The Horseshoe Inn with my family for a meal only, so could not comment about the rooms, apart from the restaurant and toilet.
After hearing and reading positive comments I have to admit that my own visit was rather a big disappointment. Most of the waiting staff were nice and the location was okay, and that's all when it comes to positives.
However, going to restaurants is mainly about food, and this aspect was very poor at The Horseshoe Inn. My partner's venison shank seemed to be badly cooked, because it was very chewy. My battered fish was extremely oily, while chips added to my children's and my own meal appeared to be soggy and tasted of nothing else but oil. Only my son's burger was edible.
Overall dinning experience I would describe as poor, and I am pretty sure that I would not be back to Horseshoe Inn in the future.

We had a great evening in the bar, friendly staff (also very knowledgeable and helpful). Great food and a roaring fire on a cold night. Seafood selection is very impressive. And the fish and chips were so good.

Pleasant time spent in this very charming restaurant, friendly atmosphere, excellent cuisine, I highly recommend and I will return there as soon as I have the opportunity; Moreover, the neighborhood is very pleasant.
When visiting St. Monans came across this place, fully booked. I was in luck there was a small outside table available. It overlooked the harbour and the weather was amazing so really happy. Ordered the hot smoked salmon with chips and salad. The quality of the salmon was amazing, the salad, 2 variaties, was crisp and very fresh and the chips were delicious. The home made sauce with herbs made it the best fishmeal I have ever had in Scotland. Staff was very efficiënt, friendly and in for a natter.
My wife and I, with our small
dog visited during a lunch time break in Bowmore. A great welcome by lovely staff, nice cocktail, followed by one of the nicest pizza and pasta combinations that we have ever had. The staff are particularly welcoming, and were lovely to our little dog. We thoroughly recommend and we will use again when in the area. Thank you. A++++

Food 10/10

Always a lovely service, great food, and very good prices! Always recommend this place to my friends!
Risotto and cheesecake at this place is a must!
Dining room was very cold, over priced for what we ordered.
The half lobster was served cold with a very boring bulked up salad with no dressing, was disapointed to find the dressed crab to be served in a plastic shell not in natural shell, was not fresh Crab, The burger was raw in the middle, would have been nice to have had fries with burger. Our whole experience was very disappointing sadly won't be returning.
