Great little bar for the vibe and service,food and of course welll stocked bar and helpful crew. Enjoyed the last set of a live band,and yes conversation limited due to the noise level but to be expected in such a close venue. Benn before and will be back. Many thanks to all the crew❤️🙏

Fantastic. Great music and vibes. We stopped by and they heard we were from Tennessee in the US and played Tennessee waltz for us. Really made our glasgow trip a great one.

Good spot but the front bar is far far too loud. Can barely hear yourself think let alone anyone you’re with. Had to leave early because of it, not sure when I’ll be back

In for a quick few drinks - busy place but staff were great and service quick, know what they are doing behind the bar. Unexpectedly one of the best pints of Guinness I’ve ever had which was a real bonus! Could do a lot worse than this place, worth a visit. Thanks.

Amazing wee find, food outstanding especially vegetarian nut burger, atmosphere and music is 1st class, felt right at home, great vibe. A jewel is Glasgow's crown. Found my place in Glasgow, will definitely be back.

Fab wee space, cosy while also feeling stylish. The live music was amazing, good prices for drinks, good range of drinks on tap. Yeah, I reccomend!

What a great find. Great atmosphere. We went on Friday night. There was a band from 7.30 until 9. Their first set was fantastic. The second was a bit bizarre. Female singer joined them for a couple of songs and then it just fell apart. She went off to get her pic taken. The band finished early. Real shame as they were really good. Spoiled the evening a wee bit. Such a shame as this is a great place. The staff were friendly. The food was great. Definitely will try again!

Very friendly atmosphere. Sorry did not have anything to eat therefore, cannot comment. However, the dishes did look very appetising.

Lovely atmosphere, great music and good food, but the reason for the review is the staff, who made us feel welcome and cared for. Felt like a really nicely held and safe space as well as a great spot to spend our first evening in the city. Thanks so much for looking after us 😘

We visited for the first time on Valentine’s day for an anniversary celebration… and WOW! we were so impressed, the food was delicious and they accommodated my GF partner brilliantly. The atmosphere is cozy but lively and we had some of the best cocktails i’ve ever had. Last but certainly not least was the service, every single member of staff we had the pleasure of coming across were so lovely. Our server Iona was top class, so attentive, funny and sweet, if i could give more than 5 stars I would!! Thank you for a brilliant evening, we will definitely be back!

Fantastic little place we stumbled into after Celtic Connections at the Pavilion. Really great cocktails, decent diverse beers on tap (Brewgooder, Drygate, Heverlee) and some great chips and good seats... but the best bit is the Sundays Blues Jam, some absolutely great playing and singing 👌 Totally coming back !!

On last visits:Great food, drinks and atmosphere what more can you ask for. Visit today: omg!! £25.25 for 4 drinks, when I checked they said they were run of the mill. Funny went to maltmans, Same round was £14. Getting greedy I felt won't be in a hurry to return.

What a fabulous place - saw there were some jamming sessions on a Sunday night and thought why not check it out. So glad we did, will definitely be back again when I'm next in Glasgow

This was our nye entertainment for 2023/2024 the food was yummy the band was brilliant a must to visit

Best live music venue. We try to come on a Saturday afternoon for the blues bands. Always busy. Always good live bands. What’s not to love 💕♥️❤️

Tremendous shame that the owners decided to install the speakers at the back (I think it's the dining area). A place that I once loved for that one quiet room, where you could freely talk with your friends, turned into a shouting festival. The music is so loud, it's impossible to hear what a person says sitting across of you. Before you could still hear the music playing from the gig, but now it's blasting full volume into your eardrums. I don't get it. Still, probably one of the best late night bars around Glasgow, but for the love of god: get rid of those speakers. I beg you

Worst gin and tonic, staff were rude and refused to take a photo of our group when politely asked, got the drinks order wrong also

Shame I couldn’t give zero stars, this is the worst place I’ve ever eaten. 22 stars of us attended for our work Christmas dinner and not one of us enjoyed their food, everything was dry over cooked and tasteless, my starter that I paid £14 for was apparently given to someone else and my main course of feather bladed beef at £15 was hard, chewy, dry cheap beef on a bed of tasteless rice with a bland white a slice of white bread, I could not eat any of this, so I paid £30 for nothing. Extremely disappointing. When I mentioned to the staff clearing the plates away she said the chef was aware that he’d overcooked the beef!! Why did he send this out then? Total rip off. Unless you like dry tasteless food avoid at all costs.

We had an unpleasant experience. The bartender refused to serve drinks despite everyone in our group being sober. Additionally, the bartender's behavior appeared discriminatory, as she denied us service. To make matters worse, we were eventually asked to leave, and one of the security personnel exhibited aggressive behavior without any apparent cause. This experience was unexpected and disappointing, tarnishing our visit to Howling Wolf.

Atmosphere is great at the Howlin Wolf. Food is really below average for the price. I think there was only one person in the kitchen when we visited but this is not my problem when my order took more than 1 hr to arrive.

Sunday night blues jam was absolutely amazing, so much talent and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely be coming back and also will be recommending this place to anybody visiting glasgow for the weekend.

A perfect night out for blues lovers - we attended the Sunday night jam with no expectations, just popped in because it was just near our hotel, but were blown away with the standard of musicians and singers- all amazing, the fabulous warm vibe thanks to Charlotte who led the whole night seamlessly, and has a charisma and talent in equal measure. Will definitely make an effort to return next time I'm in Glasgow.

Ended up here with friends on a birthday night out, fantastic atmosphere, great music and would certainly return. Can't comment on the food as we were there for drinks.

Service and atmosphere fantastic. The food lets the place down which is a shame as the menu is great. Tacos are tiny but the price doesn't reflect that. Wings were bland, the sauce too watery. Wouldn't recommend for anything outwith drinks.

Always love my visits to howling wolf, be it for food or drinks it’s always a great atmosphere! On our last occasion we had booked in for a late dinner and drinks. Our waiter Elijah was just delightful! So warm and welcoming and very attentive. Would always recommend howlin wolf to my friends or people I meet visiting Glasgow and want a cool venue with great tunes, and chill vibes!

Great food and cocktails. Live music was excellent. Great atmosphere. Had the wolf burger with ragu and chunky chips highly recommend along with the blind lemon jefferson cocktail.

Great burgers, we all had a different one and you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. The chips here are the real highlight. No idea what they do with the recipe, but wow they're one of the tastiest things I've tried in a while. We made the "mistake" of ordering a side and then realized all burgers come with a side of chips as well. Either way, the extra skin-on fries with pulled pork were incredible. One of the best pub meals I've had!

Playing a gig there so limited input. Never had food so can't comment but had a great gig with the Best Dressed Bluea Band and so did the audience...they were immense!

Ambience and live music were lovely, unfortunately the food was bland! Had high hopes due to the high overall rating on Google, but honestly, the food needs major improvement. Not an ounce of seasoning on anything, don’t know how you can make a taco or burrito lacking so much flavour. Very disappointing.

Very quiet initially food was not quite as good as normal

I write reviews mostly for good places. Otherwise only to warn others. These guys should go try a microwave bean & cheese burrito available from nearly any gas station in America.Then they'd cry for a week and realize the crime they've committed of insulting burritos everywhere, ruining them for no doubt hundreds of thousands of Glaswegians. I wasn't expecting much, but pick a flavor, any flavor, and it would've been better than this flavorless mass of chewable material. I was actually impressed how they managed to suck all joy out of it. I won't soon forget it. Guys, seriously: don't put food on the menu unless it really is. The girls next to me said they tried the nachos and they were awful. Staff, ambience, the band, the Guiness were all fine. Misleading in a way, as all that implied the food on the menu might also be.

A fine welcoming music bar. We've visited four time over as many years. The music is always spot on and eclectic albeit mainly Blues. We'll be back.

Really cool Jazz pub. The service and beer selection was on point. The American food was meh but not bad.

This is one of the only places that would let us in without a strict dress code, so it's good in that sense. Only two beers on tap, and it is overly loud - i could hardly hear a friend right next to me who talked at the top of his lungs.

Excellent live music! Awesome service, we were taken care of very well, even with suggestions, well deserved tip. Atmosphere is also awesome! I’ll definitely go again.

The ambience was amazing. The place has a cool, rustic look with cozy lighting that sets a relaxed mood. There's plenty of seating, so you can find a comfortable spot to enjoy the live music.

A decent pub to have some drinks. The food was not very good, though. I wouldn't go back to eat there, where it was difficult to maintain a regular conversation, with too many people shouting. The waiters were keen to help and preety quick assisting us.

First time in this place and it did not disappoint. The vibe and ambience is morish and I am not even a blues fan. Also best chips on the planet, just like my granny used to make. Staff are friendly, always walking around clearing the tables. Just had such a great time. Will definitely be back for soooooooon

First day in Glascow and this was our first stop! Elijah is a true gent. Food and beer are great. The type of music I wish was at more places.

It's so stuffy in there when it's busy, I felt like I could barely breathe. Leaving a door or window or something open would help.

Just a quick drink as was on way to concert hall but was really quiet as early evening

The service was excellent! But the food did not reached my expectations. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich and it came without salt and with poor flavors. The fries came soggy. In the back of the restaurant, there are some tables that you can sit if you prefer a quieter space. And there are in the back of the restaurant tables outside.

Dropped in to eat late on a Saturday. Good food served by attentive staff. Everything was presented well, arrived hot and tasted fantastic. Not too crowded. Nice chilled vibe.

I was in with a party and it was a good venue for artists and was good for drinks didn't have food but had do go for train but would certainly go back as I had to go home but good atmosphere.

I was expecting the focus to be on the music/atmosphere more than the food, as we came here for the live Jazz, but that was not the case at all! The quality of the food was actually excellent. Great choice available, the tacos were so fresh and filled with such a mix of textures and flavours, and the cauliflower wings were the best I’ve ever had 🤤

The food was coated in hot sauce that made me cry lol and I like spicy. Staff were nice tho. This rating is based on the food alone which was bland but coated in horrible hot sayce

Great bar in Glasgow City centre. If visiting at weekends would definitely recommend booking a table even if just drinking as it does get very busy. I didn't eat but the food that I did see being served looked delicious. Great entertainment from blues band on a Saturday afternoon.

Went there with a group of friends ,ordered food two of the 6 orders were wrong another was stone cold , the live entertainment finished at 8pm, ten min after we arrived, would not recommend !!

I previously left a fairly negative review regarding one of my most favoured venues in Glasgow and I am now retracting it. I came in for the first time in months and management came to me straightaway and apologised. I appreciate this majorly and it is a testiment to the team. Thank you Howling Wolf, I will definitely continue to be a regular again.
