Cafe Andaluz in Aberdeen City

The food and ambiance were wonderful. And ABBEY made it a perfect night! She was extremely helpful with menu choices as well as hints about visiting Aberdeen.

Excellent variety of tasty tapas with great service. Is a busy place with good atmosphere. Worth taking advantage of the Deals they have on.

Lovely Spanish restaurant in the city centre. Staff are really nice, kind and helpful. Food is also good. Had calamari, chicken and haddock tapas. All turned out to be great. I also loved the interior of the restaurant.

Tried their tapas. And felt little underwhelmed to be honest. Every other tap out of we order were lacking seasoning. Prawns also felt like it had lacked marination or so as it felt that prawns are given in the puddle of oil. Got one tapas which we hadn’t ordered. Decided to give it back, but as it was the mistake from restaurant side - they allowed to have it on-the-house. Generally I would expect olives to be given as a complimentary as happens in Spain, but this wasnt the case here. Out of all the tapas we had ordered, I enjoyed the one with Potatoes in it. Overall, okay experience food wise. But staff and ambience is nice.

From the warm welcome to the good food all was of a high standard. Paella was as good as I’ve had in Spain. It’s in a central location and is worth a visit - one to recommend

I always enjoy the food here and the fact you can pick exactly what you want to either keep or share. I do sometimes think it can be a bit pricey for pre prepared food. The waitress we had was helpful, welcoming and bubbly. I will of course keep coming back.

Went in for a paella de marsico, it was the worst paella I've had in my life. I lived in Valencia 20 years, no "socarrat" (toasted riced) it was arroz al caldoso (saucy rice), which is not Paella at all. There should not be any sauce in Paella at all !!! I don't recommend at all. Pure garbage.... An embarrassment for spanish food. Dos Amigos in Aberdeen destroys these Disasters of Paellas

Worst paella in my life, and I lived en Valencia 20 years and eaten paella every weekend for years. A paella should not have sauce at all.

Have eaten here before, the food is good but there is a major issue. Some of the items under the vegetable tapas section are NOT vegetarian, and this is not made particularly clear. When I asked, the reason is that they fry the patatas bravas, and the potato and onion for the Tortilla, are fried in the same oil they use to fry meat. I do not understand why they do not have two separate friers, like the vast majority of restaurants would do. Worse, on their Deliveroo page, these dishes are under the vegetarian section, when I have now been informed that they are not. This has soured both this experience and now prior experiences with this restaurant.

Really attentive and helpful service. Food reliably great every time we’re here. Great cocktails too. Hard to find out in advance what they are, so posting some photos of the drinks menu.

You always know you will get good tapas at a reasonable price. Always a great option for a little slice of Spain.

Amazing breakfast and staff were very good!! Go here instead of your fast food breakfasts! Would have got 5 stars but adding a 10% gratuity to my bill and not giving me the option is incredibly wrong.... I would have tipped because it was all very good. This practice must stop, we are not America and we tip when it's deserved.

Good food but the tapas portions are too big for a single diner. Perhaps they could consider small portions so a single diner can choose a selection?

We booked in here for breakfast using an itison, one rainy Sunday morning whilst staying in Aberdeen. The girl who greeted us and served us throughout was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was delicious, I opted for Spanish breakfast whilst my Wife enjoyed the chorizo, avocado & poached eggs. Washed down with coffee and orange juices. Restaurant spotlessly clean and has an authentic Spanish feel, in terms of the decor. Would highly recommend and will be sure to return! Just a pity there is t a Cafe Andaluz closer to or Broughty Ferry home!

Great place to eat, although this was my first visit it won't be my last, the food was fantastic and the wait staff did a superb job, made us feel welcome. would highly recommend this place to others

Great food and service offers a unique experience

First visit to this Tapas Bar and l shall certainly return.

The dish appears to have had a distinct fishy flavor due to the sea food not being fresh.

Food was amazing as always, excellent service food came out fast and hot and excellently cooked. Restaurant was busy as it was 6pm on a Saturday but still very loud and crowded.

Absolutely terrible , sharing platter that wouldn’t even fill up a small child with food so hard and stale you could build a house with it. Absolutely baltic too felt like your sitting in a fridge. Absolutely awful service with your bill/desert order taking 3-5 days to be taken.

Food was delicious, and the service is great. A special thanks to the Spanish/Venezuelan girl, and the Greek lady. Such friendly people :D

Nice restaurant with tasty food. Service very good, waiting times are short. When the order was delivered, the staff usually still knew who ordered what, for a table of 10 people. Staff fast and correct. Cozy atmosphere.

Lugar agradable donde podrás comer bien con las tapas que sirven. Si es comida española, pero con matices, por ejemplo la paella podríamos llamarla arroz, ya que los sabores de la paella española no se sienten en el paladar, pero esto no quiere decir que no esté rica, solo que no es una paella al uso. Comida agradable con personal atento. El postre delicioso

Came here during Aberdeen Restaurant Weeks, there were 5 of us. Ordered 3 sets of the "3 tapas for £20 and above" sets. The pork was a bit dry. But everything else, especially the goat cheese and lemon prawn paella was very good. Had brownie and the cheesecake for desert. The brownie was delicious but the cheesecake was just ok.

Just had lunch with a friend at Cafe Andaluz. The staff were very friendly and the service was quite quick. The food was delicious just too much for the pair of us. Good value for what is served. Lovely, clean environment and atmosphere.

Never fancied Spanish food. This changed my mind.

We visited the restaurant during the Aberdeen restaurant week. The restaurant was busy but could get a table. The menu offered 3 tapas + dessert for £20.00. this was reasonable. However the dishes were average tasting. We found some of the chicken was under done which was a disappointment. Would like to put this down to the busy period of the event.

Found by chance in gray Aberdeen, this place brought some color to our evening in the Scottish town. Place with typical Spanish dishes, I recommend the Andalusian salad and the meatballs with sauce. The cocktails and dessert are also good. Very friendly and fast staff.

Could Aberdeen's Café Andaluz be the the best restaurant in town to celebrate a special family occasion? Based on our recent visit, to mark our daughter's thirtieth birthday, the answer could well be a resounding YES! If we could give it six stars, we would....happily. Everything, from the welcome, the fantastic tapas dishes and the service was right up there with the very best we've experienced over the years. The quality of the food was outstanding; it arrived all together, hot and was shared around the table, as we wanted each other to taste 'what we were tasting'. There were a few 'wows' when experiencing something new and equally when getting reacquainted with something ordered before and enjoyed on a previous visit (we must mention the special octopus dish, which, for the person who hadn't eaten it before, was a revelation) . A special mention too must go to Mirco, the server, who attended to us with the perfect balance of energy, friendliness, efficiency, and yes cheeky-ness...he was excellent! When we were 'murdering' the Spanish language trying to order, he laughed along with us saying: 'don't worry, I'm Italian' which was the perfect way to put us at ease. This is our third visit to Café Andaluz, Aberdeen and each time it get's better and better. We will be back; it has established itself as our go-to restaurant for family meals!

A big and pleasant surprise. Food dishes were of very good quality, plentiful and tasty. We appreciated the quieter ambience, our daughter said it can be noisier during busier times. A little bit expensive for our expectations, but would and will return without question.

This was an amazingly welcoming tapas restaurant with a great selection of tapas to satisfy the carnivore and the vegan in our group. They even made us a vegan paella which wasn’t listen on the menu but we spotted whilst going through the allergy lists. Super tasty and service with a smile and enthusiasm throughout.

Lovely food and the waitress we had, an older Spanish (?) lady, was excellent. I am only giving this a 4 star because there aren’t many vegan choices. Only 3 tapas so if you’re in for tapas and you don’t fancy one of them, there isn’t anything else. There are a few vegan sides, but these are mostly bread. I did discover a vegan paella on the allergen menu that isn’t present on the main menu. I enquired about this and the waitress checked and said the kitchen could do it. It was excellent and I really think it should be on the main menu because if you are vegan and are eating out with others, there is not much choice without the paella. The other guests (non vegans) enjoyed the food and we all agreed it was lovely, I just think it could do with a couple more vegan tapas options and the paella on the main menu.

Went for a late lunch/early dinner with my mum who was visiting me, we took advantage of the Sunday offer to get 3 dishes each and a dessert, waitress was very friendly and polite. Food was absolutely delicious. Special mention also for Olga, she was absolutely outstanding, she made sure we were happy during our meal and topped up our water glasses regularly, she brought our desserts packaged up as we wanted to take them home and could not have been more friendly and welcoming, made you feel like you had known her for years!

Absolute treat. Authentic food made with local ingredients cooked fresh.

This is a good option, even though tapas are a bit different from what I remember, but the taste and size of portions is good. Leave some room for dessert! Difficult to find somewhere to park, as this is just off Union Street. Service was top, they are really informative about allergies, and make sure you are well informed on the menu. Recommended if you are in Aberdeen and look for somewhere nice (yet a wee pricy) to eat.

The food is exceptional, and the service is excellent. Despite being busy when we dined, the staff were attentive, and the orders arrived quickly. The friendly staff and romantic atmosphere make it ideal for couples. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

The food was great and with an average price per person of £25 it was well worth it. I recommend the chorizo, and the sangria was a treat.

This is a nice restaurant serving tapas food. All very as you'd expect. The service was good and so was the food. Only awarding a 3 might be a bit mean, but I don't think it's a 4 for me. Although nothing wrong with anything, it wasn't great, just good.

We had a lovely meal for a birthday celebration, came along for the "Pre-Theatre/Lunch" menu and chose three tapas followed by coffees. Good vegetarian choices, very filling and very tasty. Also enjoyed two mocktails. Really friendly and attentive staff, great environment, love the decor. Toilets were dark and a bit dingy, didn't feel hugely safe in them with them being down a flight of stairs and due to the poor lighting, also would have been helpful if signage for disabled toilets was more obvious. Did find it a bit expensive to eat here hence not a place we could afford often, particularly when living on a relatively low wage in Aberdeen terms, otherwise would recommend.

Food was bad and overpriced. Drinks were also bad and were inconsistent with our same drinks tasting incredibly different. Would not recommend.

Received a voucher from our son and family as part of our Christmas presents.......Five tapas, dessert, glass of sangria each with bread and olives.... Absolutely superb....great taste and flavour with the food.....service perfect.Our wines and beers were excellent.Overall, superb.
