Went for dinner with my Girlfriend. We were greeted in a very friendly fashion by the Manager, who showed us to your table. The service was exemplary, fast and friendly without ever rushing us. The food was all wonderful, i am big fan of tapas and the food here stands out as some of the best i have had. Well done to the chef Jiri. There was also a salsa dancing session going on while we ate out meal which looked great fun and gave the place a wonderful atmosphere. it was so good that long after we had finished our meal we stayed for drinks as it was just to comfortable to leave. Faultless from start to finish. 10/10 I plan on making this a regular fixture for date night and any other occasion i have.

We were a group of four and everybody ordered 3-4 Tapas. It was delicious! We shared our plates as there was enough for us all! The tapas plates are a bit bigger than a saucer but still smaller than a normal plate. So really enough! The service was nice and they were always up if we needed something. The music in the background was loud enough to build up the latin atmosphere, but still quiet enough to talk easily. We had Sangria, with and without alcohol. Both types where selfmade and really tasty! I really enjoyed my stay and recommend the La Tasca in Aberdeen!

La Tasca Aberdeen staged an acoustic set by Blair Davie of Paradise Found on Friday 8 April 2016. He entertained us with an array of contemporary covers ranging from Jolene to Paulo Nuttini's Pencil Full of Lead and Kodaline's All I Want. There was something for everyone. Coupled with this very enjoyable entertainment was tapas of a very high standard served by La Tasca's delightful staff. I have visited this establishment quite a few times now and it keeps getting better and better. Well done everyone!

Weekend away in Aberdeen we decided to visit La Tasca as we love tapas. Checked before booking that we could use our tastecard. On arrival was greeted by the manager (I think) who explained the specials for the day. He was friendly and welcoming and without me saying obviously remembered from my telephone call about me asking about tastecard and explained how it would work in his restaurant. Our server was a very pleasant young lady who was Czechoslovakian studying at the university. She was excellent. The food was very very good and we have eaten tapas on many occasions and the taste was as good as we have ever had. The portions were generous so much so we were not able for a dessert. Will definitely return if we are back in Aberdeen.

I visited La Tasca with my family before attending a concert at the Music Hall on 13th February 2016. We had to have a set menu for Valentine's at £25pp. The customer service was very poor, the food was mediocre and extremely poor quality (a dish of paella for 4 people contained only 4 small pieces of chicken).Service was slow to say the least and as our concert was about to begin at 1930hrs we had leave without dessert. On writing a letter of complaint, the manager (Samuel) called me and offered myself and my family 'the works' if we came in for another meal.We re visited the restaurant with high expectations on Sunday 27th Feb 2016. We showed staff the email from Samuel when we arrived. This meal was equally below par. There was no staff going about when it was time to leave, so we got up and left. We were later pursued down the street by a waiter shouting that we hadn't paid our bill! Never ever again!

I wish I could rate three and half stars as I don't believe La Tasca to be average but I also don't think it's very good. I went having seen an online promotion for 40% off with a loyalty card which I have however my server said this wasn't on even though the website said differently. I did get my usual 20% off though but I was still a little bit unhappy. All of the food was lovely however I was told there was no cheese which is surely a kitchen staple? Staff were generally nice but we waited 25 mins for our bill.

I can't say enough good things about our visit to La Tasca. I had arranged a salsa dance class with Daniel, followed by tapas for my sisters hen weekend. We were very well looked after by both the manager (who's name I now forget) and Daniel. Both allowed us to indulge in the usual silliness of a hen party and the dancing was fantastic..we even learnt a few new moves :-) Tapas was so yummy!! Arranged a set menu for £20pp and not only was it delicious, there was plenty to go around!! Sangria jugs were always drained and all my fellow hens thought it was a fab day out! Thank you so much :-)

Started off with messed up booking after phoning up to book the guy on the phone says ok for 19:30 and to confirm meals for when we went. Phoned the night before meal and a lass says no need to confirm and see you later. Got there waited 20 mins to get a seat whilst 4 groups walked past. Then another 40 mins for someone to come and serve us. Then one of them says you can have free bread and oils on the house which though fair enough. But they didnt get to us until 20 mins later. Then the food came. Great food but took a while, wrong paella came out. Nearly ended up walking out but we can sympathasise when its busy however no communication from the servers. 4 different servers we had. Normally its one.At the end they knocked off £12 to say sorry about the experience which we thought fair enough. Needs improvement for when its busy. Not sure if we'll come back though.

After a really good experience at La Tasca Edinburgh, we booked a table at La Tasca, Aberdeen for a half term holiday treat. I must say, the experience at this particular resto was dispiriting. On arrival, we were given the Valentine's Day menu only - we had to ask for the regular menu ( this always seems like a con!). The restaurant was cold and the music, at 1pm, was very, very loud. We ordered our tapas, and waited, and waited for our food. There were only five tables of diners, so the 40 minutes wait seemed inexplicable. When the food arrived, it was lukewarm, and the sauce tasted much the same in each dish - blandish tomato. The patatas bravas was mushy and tasteless and it seemed as if it had been cooked in the microwave. There was no salt and pepper at the table, and the food was underseasoned. The service was somewhat 'switched off' too, and given that this was Valentine's day I feel it was pretty poor experience overall. The waitress was decent enough to refund us for one of the dishes as compensation for the food being cold, and I appreciate her doing so. Whoever is in the kitchen, though, is not doing La Tasca' image any good. I would not go back, and that is a shame.

We visited on a Saturday night, which was quite busy. We booked late, but got a table. Restaurant was buzzy, but service wasn't great. It took ages to get served once we had sat down. Food was ok and was what we expected, but pricey for portion size. Be careful about ordering the pitcher of San Miguel (2 pints) - we just got a pint and a half out of it. We did ask for the glass to be topped up to make the 2 pints and this was done without any complaints, so I guess this wasn't the first time this had happened.Overall - it was ok but not sure I would rush back.

After booking a table online at La Tasca we arrived 5 minutes early, which seemed to fluster the waitress, who told us to give her 5 minutes to prepare our table. There was comfy seating by the window she could have showed us to, but she left us to hover. <br />Finally we were led to our table, past the quiet front of the restaurant, past the middle section, and all the way to the very back of the restaurant, where we could see into the kitchen and all the uglier goings-on of a part of the restaurant that isn't very well used. It was poorly lit and for some reason the waitress had seated us right next to a table of about 12 rowdy guys having their Christmas party. <br />We weren't ready to order drinks yet so the waitress said she'd come back - about 10 minutes later we were still waiting for her return and the table of guys was getting even rowdier (which I don't have a problem with - but why seat a quiet couple next to a Christmas party when virtually every other table in the place is free?)<br /><br />We were just mustering up to ask if we could move seats when a different waiter came to ask us what we would like to eat. We told him he hadn't had our drinks yet and without saying a word he walked off to the bar to to retrieve said drinks, without giving us a chance to actually order them. After a couple of minutes of no-show, we looked round to see him talking to two other waitresses and pointing to our table looking confused. <br /><br />Not one of them came to ask us for drinks and the original waiter walked straight past us and into the kitchen. At that point we decided to get up and leave - and on the way out the waitress who had seated us gave a smile and said 'ciao, bye!' - not even realising that we had left without even eating. We hovered outside for a second to see if anyone would notice we had left and it's like we were never even there - the waitress led another couple to the table we had just been sitting at. None of the staff have a clue in this place. Terrible service.

Having been to La Tasca a few times before during visits to Aberdeen, I had spoken highly of it and promised to take my parents there-they were not disappointed! The staff were very friendly upon arrival and explained the menu very well. One of the specials was sea bass, which went down a treat with my parents, as did all of the dishes we had and the wine (reasonably priced for Aberdeen). Some of the other dishes we had were; calamari, patatas bravas, patagonian prawns, Croquetas de Pollo (chicken croquettes), and of course chorizo-all of them delicious. At the end of the meal all that was left were empty plates and big smiles. They recommend 3 tapas per person and if you include dessert / cheese then this is about right. By the way the cheese board to share is fantastic-4 delicious cheeses, lots of it and at the price, a cheese board to embarass almost every other dining place in Aberdeen! All in all there really is something for everyone-the youngest in our group was 12, the oldest 83. We will definitely be back.

We had a itison voucher for 6 tapas dishes to use for our dinner at La Tasca, Neither my wife or I have previously eaten at La Tasca so didn't really know what to expect, there was a varied menu with a selection of vegetarian options that suited my wife as well as a large option of meat dishes for me. I would have liked the food to be hotter but maybe this is Tapas.

I had attended a birthday meal and arrived on time, food was served, service was mediocre. The problem arised when the bill arrived. Each member had paid a good £20 for some food, slightly pricey I think. We got called back just as leaving to be told we still had a £135 left to pay, how had this come about. WELL, bad management, bad service and poor staffing. The reciepts did not show all the payments made and they would not listen or be accommodating. I had spent £80 alone at the bar and had given good service. Ruined the entire evening and consdering it was a birthday meal, really not happy. WILL never go again and telling everyone how bad it is...because it sucked.

Visited today (13/10/15).Warmly welcomed as always by Samuel.Made our selection of tapas which included two of the daily specials, 7 in total. All were absolutely delicious.Would recommend the Montaditos de cerdo and the costillas de cerdo, but if the truth be told we have tried a large variety of tapas on the menu and have never found cause to complain.Finished off with trenza with salted caramel ice cream,(amazing) and double espressos and sambucas. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. What more can I say.

We were greeted promptly and warmly by the host and waitresses and taken to our seat. The selection of tapas was amazing and mixed various regional dishes from Spain. All of the food was fantastic and there was a live salsa band/dance. We waited quite a long time for the food, but they were busy and the multiple tapas dishes would have been timely to prepare. We had plenty of wine to keep us replenished though ;)

Awful service. Booked a table for 2 for 7.30pm on Saturday 26th. We got there to be told by a waiter that he couldn't see our booking though the lady front-of-house said we did have a booking. No idea which one of them was correct. Ordered 2 drinks when we arrived and were shown to the table opposite the lavatories at 10 to 8, asked to be moved as a number of tables around us were free. They moved us which was fine. Drinks still hadn't been seen. The lady manageress said she would get them immediately and that was the last she came near us. We were told we would get our food within 25 minutes of ordering as they were busy. We ordered tapas (3 of the original 7 tapas items we asked for were off the menu). Forty minutes after that we were told that the kitchen hadn't started preparing our food yet and they couldn't say when the food would be served. In the meantime our drinks came (half an hour after we ordered them) but we were told that we couldn't have more than 1 Margharita as they had run out of limes. We suggested that the Co-op in Union Street had limes in abundance, but they said they were all too busy to go. Seemed odd as around a quarter of the tables around us were empty. Having been in the restaurant for an hour and ten minutes with no sign of our tapas coming (and having been told they didn't know when they would arrive) we left. Think the manageress in charge front-of-house was out of her depth - if you say you are going to do something, then do it. The 1 Margharita we did see was very nice, but we won't be back.

We booked a table at La Tasca for 7 arriving at 6.50. We were advised that the table would be ready shortly and to take a seat and get a drink at the bar. I stood for 10 minutes waiting and finally gave up waiting for a drink. I had been given a nod from the bar manager but he seemed more interested in chucking bottles about than actually serving. It wasn't as if it was busy, it was a tuesday nght for crying out loud. We sat down at 7.10 and the waitress asked if we were ready to order at about 7.20, we ordered paella and two tapas dishes with a bottle of wine then sat and waited, talked and watched the salsa class that was going on. We finally got our food at 8.15 which was hurriedly plonked on the table. We were never asked whether the food was OK and couldn't catch anyones attention to let them know that they had forgotten our bread. The paella was hot but very dry and overdone and the tapas dishes were cold (the chicken was very poor and tasted awful). When we finally ended the ordeal and advised the waitress that she had forgotten to bring our bread and oils from he deal we had she gave us 20% off the bill for the extras we had ordered. This didn't even cover the cost of the bread and oils. Very poor service, food was

The Spanish ambiance of the restaurant is unique for Aberdeen and leaves you with a feeling that you have really "gotten away"....even though it was for just one evening. The dance classes available for anyone is another great extra that we took advantage of, even though we do little dancing and had never danced "Salsa". We will be back for both the food, the environment and another lesson!

Table for 5 booked for 7.30. Arrived and asked to wait in bar area until they "got the table ready". After 5 mins seated at large table in bar area. Asked if they could shut the double door open to street due to draft (all sitting with coats still on). Shut one door, left other open, so still had draft. Asked if they could shut the other door. Told that would mean the people in the restaurant area would be too hot! Asked if the could get extra heating c. our table. Decided then to shut other door. Order taken, food arrived - ok, but nothing special. Decided to have sweet and coffee. Ordered sharing plate (8 different things). Came with 5 things, asked and was told they had run out and given us extra cheesecake as a result - no apology! Asked for bill. Came and put card and £15 tip on plate to pay. No one came. Eventually paid at bar, leaving no tip!

We love tapas and la tasca is always a reliable option for a meal out. The food is always good and there is a good selection to choose from. However portion sizes have shrunk over the years!

Lured in by itison voucher we shared six tapas - very tasty and good value. Music a little loud and mushrooms saltier than I would have preferred but overall certainly intend coming again.

Overall my partner and I really enjoyed our experience at la tasca. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We received lots of beautifully cooked food and the atmosphere was perfect. There was, however, one factor that both my partner and I felt could be improved... Our food was completely over seasoned with salt. Apart from the over seasoning with salt, the food was all beautifully cooked and there were some fantastic flavours but unfortunately the amount of salt, particularly on the 'festival of mushrooms' dish and the lashings of sea salt on the beer battered fish meant that we did not enjoy our food as much as we would have. I hope La Tasca Union St take this comment on board as we hope to visit the restaurant again in the near future.

We visited one Saturday afternoon and I thought it was very mediocre. If you're a meat eater, it's pretty good but if you're veggie or vegan, be warned you will leave hungry. The vegan tapas were out of stock but chef kindly made a dish for me but it was just one dish which was beetroot based. I asked for an aubergine item with no cheese and was told the cheese was already on. Thankfully the bread, olives, almonds and peppers were good or I would have left with barely anything to eat. Service also appallingly slow and we had to wait ages for drinks and after waiting about 30 mins after we had finished, plates still on the table, we had to just go to the bar and pay.Interestingly, called Cafe Andaluz (new Spanish restaurant) and they advised 6 dishes I could have, four of which have minor modifications, which shows their commitment to fresh products and those with dietary requirements).

Very let down after we looked forward to this mealThe food took about 5 minutes to arrive and when it did it was nothing to shout about. The prawns were cooked to death and dry. The mushrooms were seasoned with copious amounts of salt and it is my first experience of crispy mussles. I will not be going back during this lifetime.

We have been to La Tasca many times and the food was excellent as usual, our visit was spoiled though by inattentive staff , we were still eating our starters when our main tapas arrived, then after we had enjoyed our tapas the server asked if we would like the sweet menu we said yes and we also asked for more water , it took more than 20 minutes before we got our water and menus by although the restaurant was by no means busy but the servers were mostly standing around idly chatting , we had changed our minds about sweet by this time and we asked for our bill instead.

This was a first visit to the restaurant. We were met by the friendly staff and settled down to have a pre meal drink. The atmosphere was very relaxed and had a friendly Spanish bar feel. The waiter explained the menu and recommended some dishes. The tapas selection was great as was the jug of sangria. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a chilled out meal
