The best restaurants in England

I never usually leave reviews, but I'm staying in Southampton for work and the Peking duck special from Hillmans might be the best takeaway burger I've ever found in the UK. Even the box it comes in unfolds itself and presents it nicely to you as you open the lid.

I saw this cafe when I was in Wigan last week. I popped in and had a large breakfast, and it was very filling. I couldn't finish. The food were nice, freshly cooked. Staff were extremely friendly.

Anyone know if this will reopen?

Bit of an odd one this, as their website made no mention that there was a ticket only event that evening, and neither did ONE of their Instagram accounts! Obviously, I didn't do enough research. Which is a shame really, as I'd been waiting for such a long time to check this place out. Still, the couple of halves I managed to squeeze in before they chucked me out were a lot of fun and the staff were super friendly. Till the next time!

Excellent sandwiches for a London standard. If you are around Holborn and want a quick bite, this is the place to go. I'd love they offer outside seating.

Went for breakfast, lovely staff, great atmosphere and two nice warm fires in either bar. The food was brilliant, a hearty portion of clean well cooked food. Nothing dripping in grease, nothing over cooked or undercooked, I honestly couldn't find a single issue with the food. Utensils were clean and I was provided with a range of condiments, and offered a wider variety. Would highly recommend, I took my child (under 2yo) and he was most welcomed, there was also a customer with a dog, so pets are clearly welcome too.

This place is fantastic. The food is just to die for! We love going here. I love that the chefs come to the table and tell you all about what they’ve made for you. Today was my second visit. I will definitely be back. Awesome

Gorgeous freshly cooked breakfast with top quality ingredients. Also chips are crispy and Gorgeous.

Just had an incredible meal. Impeccable service too. Flavours superb, proper italian. Wasn't going to have dessert until my wife spotted the Cannoli. Haven't found anyone doing them in a North West restaurant, so had to give it a go. These were the real deal. Staff attentive, but not over the top. Perfect evening. This review was hanging in my drafts. Been several times since and it is consistently excellent. Seen quibbles about service charges which I can't see on a menu, and have never noticed one applied. Perhaps it's just for larger parties?
