Great place to eat and have a drink with friends.. Seating outside for the summer months. Highly recommend

First time I have been here had the afternoon tea it was beautiful we had to much but was given tubs to put leftovers in service was quick and quick to clean after people left staff was welcoming and very helpful

Nice and clean interior and atmosphere. No food on Sundays unfortunately. Close to coalhouse fort park, which makes for a nice post drink stroll.

Food and service were absolutely great with friendly, attentive, and very polite staff without being intrusive. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had two lamb shanks, one belly of pork and one smoked haddock. The only downside was a table of 8 very close to the four of us who, through their noise level, rendered a conversation virtually impossible. I realise this is not the fault of the staff, but it did detract from the excellence of everything else

It was very busy when we visited and car parking was difficult with only one space available. Service was slow, I presume because it was so busy. Main meals arrived 30 minutes after ordering. Haddock au gratin with a poached egg, couscous, new potatoes and salad was OK,but the fish was overcooked and the egg yolk hard, not runny. 4 mains, 3 desserts, soft drinks and teas/coffees came to just over £25/head. Decor inside is very dated. I'd been there back in the 70's and still recognised much of it. They are refurbishing the outside seating area, which is looking nice. Staff are very friendly and pleasant

Called in here for the first time yesterday & was pleasantly surprised. The new garden area is fantastic & we had the £10 meal options, which really were superb value & quality. You definitely need to book for Sunday lunch inside.

This was my fourth visit, each time with different friends or family, and as with every other visit, myself and my guest were very impressed, a warm welcome, a fine real ale and the food was first class. As I like to travel by public transport and live in Gravesend it is now a labour of love to reach the pub, what with the bus service no longer available from the station and the Gravesend to Tilbury ferry ceasing to operate. However, this will not deter me, the food, beer, service and atmosphere is well worth the effort.

Beautifully cooked and well presented food at reasonable prices, can't recommend The Ship enough and looking forward to going back.....

Visited for first time for a family birthday meal. We had a lovely time. Service was super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, we all had the roast options, the mixed roast in particular was very good. Very broad and varied menu, definitely something for everyone. Some amazing desserts too, eton mess and waffles highly recommended.

Popped in for a sandwich for lunch but the amount of food that came was a meal in itself. Excellent value for a really tasty meal.

Fabulous family get together meal, all food was spot on and I particularly liked the attention to detail you get here that is often lost elsewhere, the ambience is lovely too. We see some afternoon teas come out while we were there which looked great too so planning that for our next meet up.

Came here for lunch today with my Mum. The staff were lovely, warm and welcoming. The food was delicious, and plenty full and lots of choice on the menu. We have lived nearby all our lives and this is the first time we have visited. Will definitely be returning.

Had a roast for my nephews birthday ,it was so nice,and a nice friendly atmosphere.

Today for our mother's day tea it was fantastic ,we have had afternoon tea at many venues,and this by far was the best.

Great place for a meal in a traditional pub.

A last minute decision to lunch here and what a lovely choice. Plenty of choice on the menu, well cooked, generous portions and great value. The restaurant was busy with a nice ambiance.

Had a really lovely meal on Sunday, nothing to much trouble as we had a gluten free and elderly parents with us. We all had a lovely time , good atmosphere, food and service. We will definitely be back and also recommend to our friends and family.

Would certainly recommend. I popped in for a pint a couple months back and found it to be a cracking pub. Lovely interior, good prices and atmosphere. The landlord (who was behind the bar) was really welcoming and helpful. I'll be going back when next in the area.

We had our Christmas lunch here on Tuesday, I was surprised at the quality of the food and presentation .. service was good just the right amount of time between courses well worth a visit.

Visited as a large group of about 20. Food was good, service was good and friendly except that we seemed to have to wait a long time for the dessert course. I would go there again

Been here 3 or 4 timed now for food. Great price, good quality always. From sandwiches to wraps, and full meals. Great staff, literally a little gem at the end of the road. As Arnie says " we'll be back "

Lovely pub serving really good food, the Sunday roast is particularly worthy of a mention and recommendation but whatever you choose from the menu you will enjoy. Friendly and welcoming staff too.

Visited for our Club (ELSAS) yearly lunch, everyone in group was complimentary, without exception.

We went to the ship for the first time today and we were not disappointed the food was lovely and the staff are really friendly we have already booked to go back in a couple of weeks

Popped in for a spot of lunch before a visit to Tilbury fort. The staff were all welcoming. Good food and not dear. Had sausage and chips myself and very good sausages, can't beat a good sausage 😉 Nice little kids area and outdoor covered seating to keep out of the sun or rain

First time to The Ship and it won't be the last , the food was great and the service was very good .The gut buster burger was very tasty . Lacked a bit on atmosphere but we was early diners. Highly recommend you give The Ship a visit .

Four of us just had Afternoon Tea here..great service,delicious food and great value for money(£15per person),they even boxed up what we couldn't eat so we could take it home. Also extra teas & coffees were given for no extra charge. Would definitely recommend,well worth it.

Excellent pub in an excellent location within walking distance to the fort. Great food, freshly made and cooked. One of the best points of this lovely pub is the staff, very welcoming and so friendly.

14.5.23 We have just had a family meal, for 5 people, we all had different starters mains and deserts.Lots of choices to suit everyone. Excellent service and food was plentyful and cooked to.perfection.

Really friendly local with a great atmosphere and large range of food and drinks. The staff are friendly and welcoming and when we went both the restaurant and bar were packed. Food was good honest pub food served promptly and the portion sizes were good. We would definitely go again.

Many years ago I lived in this gorgeous little village. My husband and I went in this pub ONCE the whole time we lived there as we found it a very hostile and “cliquey” environment and vowed never to go in again… fast forward about 35 years and I am invited to a baby shower for my besties daughter. She chose this venue although I did raise an eyebrow, but she had put a lot of time thought effort and money into this lovely event. It was also my besties birthday so all happy celebrations and everyone looking forward to it. I’m sad to say the passage of time has not meant that the owners of this establishment have had any improvement on their social skills. (I find out it’s still in the same family so no surprise there). It’s not what you say it’s how you say it !! The passive aggressive intolerant attitude here is palpable ! Never have I know in a social setting such negative antisocial vibes. I could go into a lengthy description of the afternoon but that is I feel tedious as there were so MANY issues. We’re I not a guest at this lovely event I would of most certainly given my feedback at the time in person but it wasn’t appropriate. Knowing how uncomfortable, unwelcome and strained the afternoon was and how much that had been put into this special time was simply deplorable. Having been in business myself I am fully aware of customer service and profits but it’s of paramount importance that the customer feels at the LEAST welcome, wanted and have value for money. None of which we had the pleasure of unfortunately. So if your looking for a venue to celebrate, feel welcome and for good value I suggest you research well and if this place is on your list place it low down.

We booked The Ship’s restaurant for my in-laws small wedding reception - 23 of us in total. Tracey and her staff were all very welcoming, very professional and they made excellent hosts. We had never been to The Ship before but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The food was to a high standard and many of the guests commended the meals they had ordered. Thank you all for such a lovely experience, it was the perfect end to a memorable day. Michael

Afternoon tea was very nice, service was good. I would come again. Forward a couple weeks we came again for mothers day, food was outstanding and service was quick.

On Saturday the 18th, they had a great live band. Fantastic.

Would be 4 and a half stars but can't do halves and I'm not sure anywhere is a 5 but all round a very decent meal was had by myself and my partner

Absolutely delicious afternoon tea with very friendly service. We will return. The only improvement I would love to see is car park being resurfaced, it is very stony and as a wheelchair user I found that very difficult trying to avoid the worst areas as didn't want to burst a tyre on my wheelchair
