I visit this chip shop often as it's close to where I live. The food and portion sizes are very good. The service and atmosphere are always very warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

Always buy takeaway from here every now and then. Staff are extremely friendly, nice and very efficient. Food is good,place is nice and clean, and overall it's not bad value despite the recent price hikes. I'll be back.

Gotta love your local chip shop, love their fish and chips are nice. Service us generally quick and always served with a nice smile and casual chats to see how you are doing is nice. Now if they could add chicken breast fillet burgers to their menu then we would give them a 5! That said, very good place to come and eat or take awaym

Excellent fish and chips! Great service too. Even though I turned up 15 minutes before closing time, they fried a fresh cod for me and were super friendly. The fish was superb, fresh, tender, tasty and not greasy, and the chips were great too. I'll be back!

My Number 1spot for Fish & Chips. Outside of London & Something Fishy in Lewisham S.E. I was in Buckhead Ga dinning with family at The Cheesecake Factory, in the hight of summer, I missed F&C, & experienced a dire ordeal. I was served. Yahyah SOGGY F&C. Gawd help me.

Food really good at reasonable price the haddock was lovely.

Fantastic chips and love the kebabs and curry sauce. Often treat myself to a savaloy or battered sausage too. Only thing it could improve is the cash only aspect. Card payments would go a long way but at least there is a ATM outside.

Very poor food presented well, chips are actually nice but half of them are thin hard slithers and bits so ended up in the bin, not traditional saveloys you expect from a chip shop so also went in bin, bottle of coke was as expected...

First time visit to George’s Fish Bar, was just passing by and decided to get a take away. Very friendly staff and the food is delicious. Freshly made. Was absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back again and I recommend a visit to George’s.

Have tried Cod with chips and half pounder with cheese here and both was really nice. Highly recommended 👌

Bought chips and a savaloy from here after school for my daughter - only a handful of the chips I paid for were decent and edible, the rest were stale and hard. Upon calling the shop to complain, the guy I spoke to insisted the chips were fresh (he was quite rude actually) when what I had just paid for is far from fresh food! More like left over chips from lunch time. For the price charged, food should be fresh all the time! I was already home and had picked out the 'good' chips for my daughter so due to this an exchange or refund was not possible. Poor service. Will not be returning to George's.

Perfect as always, always order here, when visiting my granddad's. My grandad always has cod, chips & mushy peas, everytime he's always happy and says gorgeous cod after a clear plate, highly recommend. Thank you.

Good food a bit overpriced for my liking

bought a large Doner at 11.30am and it looked and tasted like they warmed up yesterday's left overs, definitely won't be eating from there again and the prices they charge is a joke. I am sorry to say you did sell me food that as a customer I thought was not good standard and like anyone has time to make up lies about your standards of food , I am just a customer who was giving my view but for you to write back and call me a liar then clearly shows you can not handle criticism. Have a nice day.

Been here a number of times, quality of food is always good and staff are friendly. Price has increased a little bit which makes it quite expensive for the area; but you pay for what you get in portion size and quality. (Edited as didn't notice price wasn't as high as I thought previously.)

Since changing hands I think the food has gone down hill. Who charges £1.90 for a sausage which was over cooked and burnt inside. Plus pies that are burnt inside and microwaved, chips that was warmed up from the morning? I used this fish bar on numerous occasions and differently won't be using it again after the money that I wasted today. Anyone else noticed the rise in the prices too?

Just plain good ol' fish and chips. And offers a good breakfast too
