First time we tried this place yesterday, best cod and chips we've had. The staff were so friendly and the service was excellent. Its safe to say this is our new regular. Thank you to the patron and the team

Only popped in for chips, they were lovely, meaty and of course freshly fried. Nice large portion too. The place was pretty busy so suppose its pretty popular among the locals.

The first time we have had “the cod father” , a lot of friends have highly recommended it and it didn’t disappoint us .the food was fresh and taste and the portions was huge. I can see this being our “go to” takeaway .

The portions are more than plentiful In honesty I have tried from Pitsea Laindon Basildon and Stanford the Number one choice for quality freshness variety of menu service and friendliness of staff Leading the way by a long way has to be The Codfather Lampits hill Corringham. Latest addition to the menu Added today Their own Spare Ribs Currently available on Sundays only Order in advance to avoid disappointment Would recommend again and again So flavourable a meal on their own Try for yourself and enjoy

I can't fault their fish & chips Every time we have purchased, we have never been disappointed A bit dearer than other chip shops but we'll worth the money

Delivery was on time, large portions. Fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were lovely. Also had cod roe which was very nice. Bread rolls were very fresh.

Have not had fish and chips for years. but tonight gave the COD FATHER a try. We were NOT disappointed. food delivered was hot and excellent quality. and plenty of it. Thank You COD FATHER. you made me an offer i couldn't refuse. would have added a photo but an empty plate doesn't look too appetising ;)

After reading the good reviews decided to give it a try today . I drove from Clacton-on-Sea to visit my daughter and told her we was having fish and chips I got 2 prices of medium cod only 1 portion of chips just as well as you can see from photo no more would fit . All cooked fresh as was there as it opened I wasn't disappointed

Ordered from just eat, was a bit skeptical at first but thought I’d give it a try, with the expectation of delivery taking minimum half an hour, my order turned up 15 minutes later piping hot! Honestly the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time, other places could learn a thing or two from here, absolutely sensational

Went there for the ribs unfortunately it's changed management so all I got was a greasy sausage and a gurkin.... should have kept the ribs on the menu. Staff were friendly.

£4:90 for saveloy and small chips ! The saveloy was over cooked and tasted funny not nice to eat the chip where okay I guess, I won’t be eating from here again On the plus side the staff are friendly that’s why I gave 2 stars

First time we tried it and my husband had haddock he said it was amazing the best he has ever tasted. I had burger and it was delicious. You might think its pricey but the food was worth every penny.

Banging fish n chips ,proper bit of Cod , none of that pollock swap lark , Sausage good Mushy peas good Curry pancake roll good Chicken strips good Curry sauce is also LUSH Best chippy in Corringham and Stanford for sure And they open every day inc Sunday ! What's not to like !!!!

The Best Gluten free fish and chips we've ever had

Had gluten free fish & chips and got to say it was really delicious, portions are huge so could have shared the dinner! (Not all chips in the photo, still 3 times that in the bag)

We ordered saveloy, battered sausage, chips, curry sauce and buttered rolls. Sausage was very oily, saveloy was fine, chips were fine too. Curry sauce was very bland not flavoursome at all. The rolls weren't rolls they were burger buns and not buttered much. Delivery was very quick, too quick really. We had another delivery arrive while we were eating so was a little inconvenient, any other time it would have been fine. They said between 30-45 minutes arrived in 15. Overall ok. Wouldn't eat there again in a hurry as was expensive for 2 people at £17. Would eat there again if other places were closed.

Enjoyed a tasty family meal for 5 on 8-10-22, The fish was exceptionally good, white, beautifully cooked with crisp batter. Will certainly order again.

Savaloy was spicier than average but my partner got the ribs and said they were delicious, quick and friendly service.

Disgusting fish and chips.. Had them about half 4 and they looked and tasted as though they'd been sitting there from lunch time. The battered haddock was very oily and left a brown oil residue all over the plate. Will be going back to golden fish bar in Stanford where I've never had a bad meal from.

Ordinary chip shop does nice fish usually cooked to order. Small portion of fish average size chips, not particularly cheap.
