We came across this beautiful pub on a walk from the hop farm. Forgive me, for not remembering names, this place, the people that work here, provide a fantastic family atmosphere and service beyond ,and the most fabulous selection of food with excellent taste. Total value for money. We will most definitely be back here. Thank you.

Lovely pint of beer in a lovely location. The place was mostly empty but still told no food without a booking. Not even the chance of a sandwich or chips. It’s something I’ve never experienced before in an English pub. I understand not being able to provide restaurant food without a booking but not even being able to provide a bar menu just seems like inefficient kitchen management.

Went for a walk with the wife and kids and stopped in for some lunch, asked for a table of 4 to be told we are fully booked.... with about 8/9 empty tables in the restaurant section. Then told we can try and fit you inbetween the other bookings. Asked can we sit in the bar and and have a drink and wait, then asked if we would like to see the menu, ordered and served as we sat at which point one more table was used in the restaurant. Sitting their we can hear "the locals taking about us" very uncomfortable felt like the children wasn't welcome, typical pub in a village that time has forgotten, food wasn't anything special. Couldn't wait to leave

A lovely country pub. Low beamed ceilings and an outside area to sit and have a drink. If you are going to eat there you must book first as it is very small. The menu is limited but what they do offer is well cooked. I had battered hake chios and peas. The batter was light and not grass and the chips were amazing - some of the best I've ever had. My husband had steak with a mushroom sauce which was very good. Again the dessert menu was limited but we had local ice cream which was delicious.

I fell in love with this place immediately. Being a 6ft 3 specimen (dont know what I'm allowed to call myself anymore), manoeuvring through the bar can be somewhat tricky as the lovely old beams and joists are somewhat low. That's said, it's lovely. Staff were very efficient and very friendly to non regulars and that's not always the case in certain establishments. Outside is the kicker. Beautiful stream with fish, ducks and a lovely old hump back bridge run alongside the pub. I'm guessing this is VERY busy in the summer. Can't give a review on the food because we didn't eat.

I don't get to this pub often enough, but having been a marshal at Tonbridge parkrun in the morning I decided to swing by as I drove home cross country. A member of staff came to speak to me as I waited for the pub to open, but only to inform me that every table was booked! I went in for a drink at the bar. The pub is very old, the ceilings are very low, and it's in a great location next to a river. And if one is a Man of Kent (born east of the River Medway), it's great to have our own pub 😉

Nice in the summer! If you are tall ,then you better enter on your hands and feet! I have never eaten there so I can't comment on the food. The only downside is the ciders and beers as craft selection would suit this pub down to the ground, but if you are in the area visiting on a summers day then you can't go wrong. Take some bread and feed the chub in the stream.

This a pub I visited during a day walk. It sits on the edge of the River Bourne, where you can watch a school of wild but domesticated chub hanging about in flowing water. The pub has a very low ceiling so you may need to lean over a little when walking through. I was there lunch time midweek, and it was very quiet and relaxed. The staff were welcoming, and the food was well presented. From my visit there was nothing to be negative about, quiet the opposite..

Lovely little pub in rural East Peckham, with the beer garden adjacent directly to a trout stream - even a few ducks can be spotted occasionally! Wonderful view to enjoy while enjoying a crisp pint on a sunny day. Indoors it is a traditionally furnished pub with low beams, so if you’re a tall fella like me you’ll have to bend down to get in and walk around, but once seated it’s so cosy! Staff are nice. Great place! Loses a mark for not having decent options on the menu for vegetarian/vegans. Missing a trick there! Also, quite pricey….
