Excellent for walking and learning a little history

Really nice area to walk around San Antonio. With it being below street level the area stayed cooler than most other places. Peppered with plenty of restaurants and shops to try and go into. Of course it was a little busy so it was crowded, but that is to be expected.

While San Antonio as a whole isn’t really my scene, I can admit the River Walk has its charm. It’s one of the more peaceful and scenic parts of the city, and I did enjoy walking along the water. There’s a nice mix of restaurants, greenery, and historical touches that make it stand out. It can feel crowded and a little touristy at times, but if you’re going to be in San Antonio, it’s definitely one of the better places to unwind or explore. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way for it, but I can appreciate it for what it is.

Cool place to walk and enjoy the sites while finding some great food and drinks. The River Cruise is a great way to fi d out about the area.

Absolutely the Best Thing about San Antonio. Come for the cool daytime walk, stay for the night life.

If you come to San Antonio, you have to stop by Riverwalk! Enjoy the gorgeous view of the river and all it's restaurants and shops! Stop by one of the many Mexican restaurants and order nice pitcher of Margarita!

The Riverwalk is a great place to wander around and enjoy the scenery. It's best described as a safe and relatively clean place to spend time with the family.

It lacks maintenance. It has a drain smell. Excessive prices. Alcohol is horribly expensive.

Beautiful and relaxing. The boat ride is worth the price of 15.50. Lots of good eats and plenty of entertainment. History of the River Walk and how it came to be was interesting. If we lived closer, we would go every day.

It’s an amazing place. Bravo to all who make this attraction in San Antonio a wonderful area for fun, exploration, great experiences and food. Very highly recommended!

Lots of stores/restaurants to explore. We loved seeing the water and watching the people go by on boats. Very busy area. Parking is expensive and can be deceptive in pricing. We went into the “$5” parking to find out it was $5 for 30 minutes, then $20 after that. Street parking was a better deal.

Well not too many things you can say bad about the Riverwalk. Definitely the place to be . I do have some money saving tips that I've learned the more I come here. If you plan on walking around and enjoying the atmosphere with a nice cold drink I recommend stopping at the CVS on the Riverwalk. Every stand or location wants from $6-$10 dollars for the 24oz beers. Well CVS has them prices like any other store more like what I'm used to paying for . Trust me stopping there first will save you some money .

The river walk. This is a curious trap. With over priced food and drinks. Those people that are predators are very aggressive and pushy. The cops only care about you not smoking on the river walk. But the place smells like you are walking in a toilet. The vagrants are camped out all over the Riverwalk drunks everywhere loud obnoxious people this is just my opinion, but not a very safe or fun place to go. The Riverwalk is a lot cleaner and a lot more fun during the week.

Really cool and tons to do the river boat ride give load of history and depending on the Capitan really enjoyable.

These pictures don't do the natural beauty and vibrant life of the River Walk justice. I was skeptical at first about visiting since I've heard mixed reviews but I'm glad I did in the end. The water is clean and there isn't any littering/polution on the sidewalks. There are plenty of places to eat and it's equally as beautiful in the day as in the night. I also highly suggest going on the boat rides even though it seems very "touristy". You get a detailed explanation of the history of the River Walk and amazing views of all the locations that you can visit. There is something to do for all ages and is the perfect balance between peaceful and exciting. If you are interested in art, history, or simply going out with friends and family, this is the place for you.

The #1 thing we were told to check out for our San Antonio trip was the Riverwalk. There is so much to do and see on the Riverwalk: walk, eat, shop, and enjoy a Riverboat tour. We did them all. We walked the riverwalk one day then did the riverboat tour another day & there was so much more to see & learn that we would have missed out on if it wasn’t for the Riverboat tour so I highly recommend doing both. Even though we were there during Final Four weekend the Riverwalk never felt too crowded. It was nice seeing so many people out enjoying the same experience as us. This is definitely a must see and do tourist attraction for San Antonio! The Paramount hotel history was so cool to learn about & we even took our tour guide advice and looked up the moving of the hotel on YouTube.

Yes, it is touristy but it's nice. Splurge and take one of the boat tours. We took a pass on the restaurant and bar scene, but we aren't into the people. Grab a drink at the speak easy if you can.

Was very impressed with the historic riverwalk. Guided boat tour takes about 40 minutes and is good value. Lots to see and tells the history of San Antonio

A must-do in San Antonio! We entered from the mall, took the boat tour, and had a great time—our guide was funny and super friendly. Just be sure to go when it’s not too hot!

Very nice place, there are restaurants with very delicious food around it and the boat rides are cheap between $15 to $20 per person, I think it depends on whether you are a resident of Austin or a student, do you have any discounts?

the smell of the treated water is enough to keep me from going back, the prices for just mid food and drinks assures it.

Now I know why it is on all those lists of famous places to go see. Absolutely a must-see and eat and I could easily go back to Texas just to enjoy again.

Beautiful location to explore and enjoy in the middle of the city.

So much to see and do. Be sure to have some comfortable shoes on and bends prepared to walk. Then when you get tired hope on one of the many boats that give tours and informs you of the ever growing city.

The Riverwalk in San Antonio has always been a pleasure to go walk and enjoy the scenery. And eat at Boudros.

A totally recommendable experience! The boat ride through the city center was a relaxed and different way to discover corners that are not normally seen by walking. The views are beautiful, especially if you go at sunset. The guide was very friendly and shared curious and interesting facts about the places we were seeing. Ideal for both tourists and those who live in the city and want to see it from another perspective. I would definitely do it again.

Love the Riverwalk. Highly recommend strolling it around sunrise when it is serene and especially pretty.

Absolute blast and very lively. You have a bunch of restaurants, bars, bathrooms, restaurants areas, and places to sit since it is a lot of walking. You can also get guided tours on little boats.

Of course a must see in San Antonio! We really enjoyed Fiume Pizza, County Line barbecue, and seafood at Bubba Gump Shrimp. And the river tour of course!

Very nice place to go, the boat ride is very nice, you see all the restaurants, history, and at night the view is spectacular with all the lights. I recommend this place.

I went on a Sunday afternoon with my family, street parking was free and it was not crowded at all. It was super hot so of you visit in the summer bring a water bottle. The restaurants were pretty pricey.

Visited this area twice during my trip to San Antonio. Absolutely beautiful. If you never have before, make sure you take a boat tour to learn about the area. There are a plethora of restaurants but the shopping is minimal. There is a mall attached to the River Walk, but I wanted to see shops throughout.

Cute! I loved it the riverwalk was a bit busy but very beautiful.

Great atmosphere and tons of restaurants to choose from. My only small complaint is that you can fund a listing of restaurants, but I didn't see a listing for shops/stores.

San Antonio River Walk is actually the city’s trademark. I cannot even imagine it not being there. It has its own microclimate. Best to visit is approximately 2 hours before dusk. Restaurants are unfortunately overpriced, so it might be better to step out to the streets for better and cheaper food. Take a boat ride you won’t regret it. Don’t forget to visit Alamo and Cathedral light show nearby.

Hours of walking but it's worth it

The Riverwalk is very scenic. There are a bunch of unique buildings that house different restaurants, shops, and bars. It's especially nice at night when the buildings are lit up. The surrounding area outside of Riverwalk is not so nice.

Enjoy the Riverwalk. Do the cruise. Stay where you can walk to all the venues. Go!

The Riverwalk along the Henry Bridge Convention was clean and really pretty.

Excellent place to visit in San Antonio, it is a must-see. We had a lot of people, since the NCAA men's basketball final was on. But walk along the Riverwalk, have a coffee or a glass of wine 🍷 or have dinner with your partner, family or friends. Excellent place to visit.

Lots of shops, the river boat tour was nice and really cool being able to take alcohol drinks with you. Tour guide was very informative. Lots to see and buy.

A wonderful place to visit. Lots of restaurants, and very scenic. Park benches all along the River for resting and just enjoying the environment. If you’re lucky you will meet the Texas Bushman. 😏😁

Great place to go and experience a historic part of San Antonio. There are so many options with it comes to shopping, dining, and entertainment while on the Riverwalk, so plan for an all-day event. This place can also get crowded in the evenings, so make sure to plan accordingly.

Do not use a stroller, the walkways are to small for the stroller and people. Nice scenery and lots of pop up small vendors, lots of food.

Very good, lots of history, it costs 15 per person and takes about 25 minutes. The schedule runs from 10 in the morning until 9 at night. The ticket is purchased at the store right in front of the boats.

A marvel! I had already visited the Riverwalk years ago and now we really enjoyed it! We went 3 of the 4 days we were here, I don't highly recommend going on Sunday, too many people, hehe and there is a certain risk when walking under the bridges because they rarely allow sales stalls to be installed when the pass is very reduced. We took a boat ride, had dinner on the river bank and enjoyed some delicious and punchy alcoholic drinks! He he

I truly appreciated this view from the boat, the ride last for about 30 t o 45 minutes. The price is affordable, the convenient location to place a ticket for the ride was seamless and our driver and tour guide was a fun comedic and professional gentlemen. Truly, an awesome experience for a first date, family gathering after work event and just spontaneous adventure. I really enjoyed learning about the infrastructure history and overall timely developments of the Riverwalk and historical and epic moments of movies that have been recorded there like a scene from Miss congeniality, which was one of my favorites. I look forward to returning to the are in the future.
