Very nice place, lovely food, friendly and efficient staff. Well worth a visit, but be warned it's very popular and gets very busy (and noisy).

Food was ok but madras was not madras. Lacked the punch required of madras plus tikka meat a little hard. Bajhis were quite tasty but looked bought in. Naan mediocre. Pub area nice, shipstones ale very good

Original written in 2018: Village pub. Cosy inside, popular with locals, and has an Indian restaurant next door, accessible from the pub itself. No parking, although there is a car park just around the corner. Updated in December 2023: Visited for Sunday lunch, and this is become a semi-regular thing of late. Opted for turkey and all the trimmings, which came in at £11.22 with the 25% early-bird discount, so absolutely worth getting there early! Service was quick, cheerful and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble - they're dog-friendly in the bar as well. Only problem is it's too far from me (80+ miles!) to make it a more regular thing! Five stars all round from me.

As always the food and service at the Medway inn exceed expectations. If you are looking for good Indian food at reasonable prices, this is the place to go.

Just managed to get a seat for 2 for Sunday lunch as we were passing. Very friendly staff, even though they were fully booked, they managed to find a seat for 2. Didn't have long to wait for the food roast lamb and roast pork food was good temperature to eat, it was fresh and tasty and a good portion. Definitely be back, but I will book especially for a Sunday. The bonus was early bird before one you get 25% off and if you become a member you get money of in the week

Found this gem of a pub after a day’s hiking on the North Downs Way. Wasn’t expecting much on a Monday, but found a modern, beautifully decorated pub filled with locals, and with a great menu. Superb.

Only issue dining room not wheelchair friendly apart from that everything was great

Hmm. I’m torn here with my review because it’s mainly based on the curry house in the back garden! Yes it’s in the back garden! The pub itself is lovely with decent beer and friendly atmosphere once you’ve settled in after a few minutes. When you first enter it’s like you’ve just walked into a classic western saloon when everyone stops what they’re doing and looks at the stranger as you walk in the door, tumble weed rolling and the classic Clint Eastwood incidental music as you proceed to enter! All in good spirits of course as they realise you are a guest of a regular. The local clientele soon begin to relax and soon start chatting again and return to looking at the large tv or return to staring incessantly at their drinks! Yes it’s a local pub with locals that know everything about each other, I wouldn’t say village of the damned but it has a hint of the children of the corn about the place. Once you settle in then you too will be welcomed by these friendly lovely and colourful village folk. Then there’s the somewhat bizarre curry house out the back! Has to be seen to be believed. Once you get into this posh curry shed you will be welcomed by nice friendly staff, it’s a pleasant space to be in as well, it’s small but nice. However, the food was so subpar and bland I’d recommend you went elsewhere. Nice pub, nice curry house if your not a curry connoisseur and nice pub garden. But like I say it’s a bit of a wicker man vibe in here and not as inviting as it could be to non locals. Mind you having said all that they did make me feel at home after a while. Worth a visit.

Curry was amazing, the outside seating area was so nice, and you can't beat some karaoke.

We want at 17:00 pm We try to order when they side but was keep decline all of our 💳. I went to ask they I know what is going on and I can order face to face because was 17.30 and still we was trying to order. The lady in the bar told me to go and speak with one guy and to order there So I went and he told me wait I'm coming on your table and you can order . Keep in mind the time was 17.34 pm So we was waiting and starving on the same time. So around 18:25 we give up and we left. I don't know how is the food or the drinks They didn't gave the chance to try it.

Never had bad meal here and myself and my family have been coming for years. Sunday roast is amazing and very reasonably priced. Its so lovely to be served by happy, helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Son worked a trial shift and was told they would call him and let him know reference job and when he could come down to collect his wages for the shift. After several phone calls and promises to call back reference job and wages nothing no phone call or email as explained. Why offer paid trial shifts if you are not going to pay, my son even stayed a further 20 minutes after his six hour shift to help out as they suddenly got busy !!!!! Please get your facts straight : no emails received only the first couple for interview . Secondly if you left the money for him two weeks ago that was before his shift? Thirdly he wasn't given a starter form so you may need to educate your staff correctly. Fourthly he didn't know I had written this. And lastly just wanted to let people know how you run things and he said keep the money give to a charity anyone. A phone call would of been nice.

Sunday roast was lovely ! One of us had a allergy and the kitchen were very allocating. Waitress was welcoming too !

Busy local pub/restaurant, friendly staff great beers. If you become a member then you get cheaper drinks. Went there on a Friday night but very noisy sfter 9.00 when disco started.

A village pub with very friendly staff and great value for money food. I took my 87 year old mum here to meet friends. A nice rustic feel to it and comfortable seating for the two hours that we spent there. Mum always has a kid's meal now (!) but they didn't have her choice available. So a special alternative was suggested and made up for her and she was more than happy. Result! 😁 I can think of many eating places that would not be so accommodating. Have already recommended The Medway Inn to my niece who works a short distance away. Would definitely eat here again.

Hadn't been in the Medway for a few years it has been refurbished to a very high standard but it was still very much the same pub I new as a kid. The food looked and smelt wonderful, the bar staff do a very good job and are pleasant good night out

The service is good ,all staff polite , the food is excellent hot and tasty .we will go there again .

Love the Medway! Always welcoming, family friendly. Good range of gins. Nicely decorated and a friendly atmosphere. Jacket tuna melt with side salad. Absolutely lovely. Very big portion and really filing.

Moved to PV over 2 years ago but due to Covid-19 shortly after the move and working for the NHS only recently had chance to visit. We have been twice in last month and I can honestly say we have felt so welcome by not just the staff but also the locals. Everyone is so friendly and Ruby's food and the normal bar menu is excellent and good value for money.

This is a fabulous little restaurant. Took my partner and my daughter for a treat and very glad they chose here to eat as it was mouth wateringly good.

Friendly local, gr8 bar staff and service, a good curry house attached to the pub, pool table, darts and footy on the box. Perfect man creche!

Went for a family Sunday lunch and it was our 3rd visit. Food is very nice and, for what you get, it's fairly inexpensive. However although the service staff are always very friendly and efficient..... Sadly the same can't be said of the considerable wait time for the food hence my 4* rating. That being said, there is a bonus for waiting so long.... you're ravenous when it arrives! 😉 In all honesty though, if you're a patient type of person and you fancy a cheap lunch..... Enjoy!
