The best restaurants in Micklegate York Yorkshire and The Humber

Very nice little place in York with a friendly atmosphere with the wood fire in the middle of the teepee. Canadian stand with very good poutines. Good mulled wine that we didn't expect to find but welcome with the early nightfall. The price is nevertheless expensive for a cup of mulled wine, £5.5.

Warning, this place is closed but the maps haven't been updated. Make sure to grab a coffee at the station etc first if heading this way

I ordered a haddock on arrival as they are cooked to order. It was about a 10min wait but worth it. It was also very busy. Another thing I liked was they put salt and vinegar on when I asked.

Excellent hotel. Whose staff always go the extra mile to help and assist. Especially Michelle whose friendly face at breakfast is always a welcome addition.

We booked Christmas meal for 6 on 20th Dec 22. We were given a room to ourselves which was nice , our waiter was good very friendly. The meal was the worst Christmas meal we had. Turkey fine, the vegetables were rock hard and the amount per person was terrible including 3 very hard runner beans , 5 Half Brussel sprouts ( too hard to put the fork in ( even waiter couldn't) and 2 pieces of another veg it appeared that who ever was in the kitchen had taken the portions out of the freezer and hadn't microwaved them long enough. The desserts were passible but not great , then we came to mince pies, pies is not the word ( one bite) we would use they were not much bigger than a fifty pence piece with a spread of filling no bits just a brown gel. The waiter was most apologetic and offered us free drinks but as there was 4 elderly and 2 drivers the drinks were 4 soft drinks and 1 half pint that didn't equal a lot of money. We paid £179.70 for these meals. I realise that the price also includes wages , heating etc but we have had many meals out and this is by far the worst.

He estado llamando a The Maltings durante muchos años, y no me había dado cuenta de que mi última visita sería la última. Me sorprendió cuando lo pasé ayer, y vi el exterior escandaloso, y el nuevo nombre - The Dubliner - casi tan irlandés como Jack Daniels! Lamentablemente, los Maltings serán extrañados, sobre todo por aquellos que saben que la palabra "crack" es en realidad una buena palabra del viejo Yorkshire.

Lovely local pub. Lee gave 10/10 service and would 100% come back again in the future.

One of my favourite pubs in York. Excellent choice of beers. Am yet to sample the food but it sounds great.

Had the worst, cheapest burger of my life and a coke for £30. Go to burger king for better quality food

Was 16:52 when I came to get a coffee today. They said they were shut as soon as I walked in. I'm sorry but the closing hour is 17:00. Does not take 8 mins to make a coffee. Unprofessional service from staff today. Not impressed at all.

El peor indio que he tenido. Fuimos a recoger 40 minutos tarde, la comida estaba fría. Se perdió un curry. Chips estaba rancio. Llamaron y les dijeron que no estaban interesados dijeron que estaba caliente cuando lo cocinaron. Korma tenía una película en la parte superior como si se hubiera mantenido durante siglos No pidas

Don’t book this on booking.com. We turned up yesterday to find out it was closed so had to book a premier inn. The website shows it’s closed but other websites still take on bookings so we’ve lost £200

I was at the hotel early morning ahead of a conference and wanted tea and toast although not a resident. A young waiter called Abdul was very helpful and although his lounge section was not open for drinks etc at 7.40am he assisted and organised both for me. A professional , helpful and informative waiter who should be recognised for his service. Thanks again - it certainly left a positive impression with me about the hotel.
