The best restaurants in Selby Yorkshire and The Humber

Stopped overnight in pub car park in a motorhome,really friendly atmosphere, landlord really welcoming, beer excellent , also very dog friendly. i would definitely recommend this pub, i wish it was my local.

We decided to order pizzas from The Castle Inn instead of our usual takeaway. Great decision, pizzas were so tasty and such good value. Ordered them for a set time and enjoyed a lovely glass of wine whilst we waited. Won't be going back to our old takeaway anytime soon.

Just had a lovely take out meal from here, arrived hot, delivery time was 65 mins which is acceptable. Lovely flavours and good menu choice.

This place takes your takeout order online. When you go to pick up,the place isn’t open . You are then told to go to their other place, which is in Beverley. You are given an option to pay by card online or cash on pickup, always put CASH . Takes a long time to get money back for card. Payment!

A great village pub with really good burgers and massive onion rings. The service was really good and all of the staff we met were really nice. Will definitely call again!

Delivery never arrived so had to collect. Wasn’t updated on arrivals or anything to do with not being delivered till I called. Finally got food after nearly 2hrs waiting. I understand it’s busy and New Year’s Eve,staff were really apologic and sorry but lack of communication is key and really unprofessional. In order a lot from china dragon but won’t be ordering on just eat again

From entering to leaving the premises the staff were great with nothing too much trouble and not overpowering Wow just wow the food was delicious my lamb with minted gravy the knife went through like butter and melted in the mouth Two people shared the steak platter with each having their own choice of sauce and a younger member had the chicken wrap he thought it was going to be in a tortilla wrap it came chicken wrapped in bacon with a choice of his sauce he ate every bit the vegetables and great home cooked chunky chips were plentiful would I return most definitely You do need to book which I’m not surprised made a meal out into a lovely special Mother’s Day

We ordered at 7pm giving ourselves at least an hour, it arrived 7:50. Food was piping hot, curries are excellent quality and taste, onion bhaji’s are banging! Won’t go anywhere else now.

Pizza's we quadruple banging! 2nd time here and the food was exceptional and the campsite is nice and clean which was a bonus!

We had wonderfully fresh fish, the service was quick and polite.

Very small portions for the price and the food quality was not all that good. Four of us went and we where all disappointed. We have lived in Spain and used to eating tapas every weekend. But we will not be returning unfortunately.

Magnificent cosy and unsoiled Sam Smith’s pub. Temporarily closed from July 2024 as landlord has taken over the Bay Horse in Tadcaster.

Lovely food yet again. Staff very attentive. Fourth visit now and well worth it. Quality of food is very good. Atmosphere in Bistro is nice. Will be visiting again.
