Great food and service. Salmon green curry was amazing 👏

We have had a number of takeaways from here. The food is always really nice. I’ve tried a few of the curry’s on the menu and every one I have enjoyed. One of the curry’s I asked if they could reduce the spice which they did for me. Would recommend.

I've been meaning to visit Thai Sunrise for some time and finally decided to go on a Tuesday to try their set menu options. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and the flavors were incredible. The pad Thai, in particular, was unreal – perfectly balanced with a delightful mix of textures and tastes. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the entire dining experience enjoyable. I highly recommend Thai Sunrise and will definitely be back to explore more of their menu.

Take away but rather expensive with small portions that were very nice but we were left feeling dissapointed especially given the price Will not be using again as a takeaway

Really shocked by the change in this restaurant, we haven’t been for a few months but definitely not what it used to be. We booked a table via the phone, firstly the phone got put down on us and we had to call them back. When we arrive last night we realised it was the offer night (starter, main and drink for£20). Several tables had not be cleared from previous diners but we put that down to being so busy. They cleared us a table and sat us down, after ten minutes they brought the menus. 20 minutes later them came and took our drinks orders at this point we ordered the food. We were told they only rice they had rice was sticky rice and fried noodles which was odd and gave the impression it was all precooked. I asked for prawn crackers while we waited for our starters, the women serving us said she would have to check they did prawn crackers on a Tuesday. (Several tables had them on their tables already). We did not order from the offer menu but had the combination starter as we normally do, it was ok but nothing special and a little thrown together on the plate. Our mains of Chicken pad Thai and beef penang came nearly 30 minutes later, missing our sticky rice from the order. The pad Thai was nice, but rice was hard. The penang was shocking and usually I love it from this restaurant. Six pieces of beef fat! Not beef, both portions much smaller than they used to be. We ate the noodles but that was it. When we went to pay they took the meal from the bill but staff were not apologetic and a little disbelieving of what I was saying, even though clear to see if they had checked my plate, sadly disappointed in what was a much looked forward to meal in what was our favourite local restaurant.

We relied on Trip Advisor reviews and found our visit to The Sunshine Restaurant, Thai food, a joy, the staff worked really well as a team and fell over themselves to be courteous and polite, smiling throughout. The menu was quite large and very clear on food allergy issues. My husband was delighted with his choice of food my choice was perhaps the best Thai meal I have ever had; the flavours were exceptional. This is a restaurant not to be missed.

Never written a review in my life, Good or bad. This is the best Thai I’ve had in 7 years and I’m absolutely made up we’ve found a new Thai that delivers aswell. Keep up the good work 👏🏽

So I don’t know what’s happened with this restaurant well takeaway for me. I haven’t been to this place for a long long time. Last time I made a complaint and the new owners were very rude. Thought I’d give them another try. I ordered the mixed starter which was soggy and full of grease why on earth do they bother with the sauces? Not even enough for half a person never mind 2 to share there was next to nothing in them,.Ordered soup which had literally 4 bits of chicken and a few mushrooms which are different to the mushrooms they used to use.not as authentic. Yet again skimping on the chicken and mushrooms .I’m not gonna lie the soup has a beautiful taste but nothing in it it was all liquid. It’s just not a patch on what it used to be like. Beef masaman curry 4 pieces of beef and about 6 small potatoes what’s going on? Why cut back so much on the fillings? It just seems like they are trying to save money by not putting enough meat in the dishes. The pad tai carton wasn’t full either and again a few pieces of chicken omg so annoying even the rice had gaps in the carton…..why be to stingy? I 100% won’t be returning £41 and I feel i did not get value for money at all. The food did taste nice nothing amazing but skimp skimp skimp on every single dish. Not good at all. Also I think it makes a difference when you go to a tai getting served by tai people not English who I found very straight talking and not very friendly. This place has gone right down the Swannie in my opinion. My last visit !!!!

My first experience with Thai food but it did not disappoint. The food was lovel, light and fresh. Eventho we had loads of food I felt fine afterwards (unlike Chinese food for example). The staff was very kind and humble and overall we enjoyed the experience. Definitely worth a visit and we will visit again soon.

Fresh, tasty two course meal for £15.00. Great value for money, lovely staff, loads of parking in Sainsburys parking lot. Highly recommended.

Been ordering from Thai Sunshine occasionally for years and the food is 10/10 always amazing. Would absolutely recommend Pad Med Mamuang with coconut sticky rice. Great for take out as well as eat in - such lovely and friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Very authentic.

Came here at 1700 it was for a 21st celebration we were made to feel welcome and special with a smile and thai crackers. we ordered a combination starter that would easily feed 3 if ordering a main, too. The presentation of the dishes was like a piece of artwork. The mains were piping hot when brought to the table my curry was brought to my table still bubbling. Truly amazing experience we will be back

We eat here regularly & the food is absolutely superb, fresh quality ingredients with something for everyone at decent prices. We would normally rate this lovely restaurant 5 stars but on our visit on New Years Eve, the service wasn't up to scratch sadly. They were understandably exceptionally busy but we waited over an hour for our main courses, with no communication (despite us politely asking for an update), from the surly staff! Such a shame.

Been to this Thai for years now, one of the best Thai in the area. I think you need to remove this service charge non sense. Paying 16 pounds for a main without rice, and then adding a service charge on top is a bit ridiculous.

Last minute plans for dinner. Generous portion sizes and tasty food. Very good service which is as well as there is a service charge included no matter what the number of diners.

Fantastic food, always the same quality to eat in or take away. We had a big takeaway with friends ordered through their app. All the food arrived on time, hot and as delicious as ever. Highly recommend

Always great food and friendly staff

We arrived at about 4:20pm after reading the opening times on Google, didn’t realise that for the evening they open at 5pm. We didn’t mind returning but the ladies told us to come in as it was raining, which was very kind of them. They also got us seated and let us order even though it wasn’t 5pm yet. All the staff were lovely, friendly and smiley. Anyway… the food. Oh my goodness, what a gem this restaurant is for Selby!!! We had the Thai spring rolls and a recommended soup (forgot to ask for the name), they were both so tasty and the flavours were very well balanced. For the main we had the duck red Thai curry with egg fried rice, phenomenal, have never had pineapples and grapes in a curry before but it was divine!! We were stuffed at this point but couldn’t leave without splitting a dessert, we had the fried banana and ice cream. The lady at the restaurant overheard, picked a fresh banana right from the display next to us and took it to the kitchen. Lovely people and lovely decor, we will definitely be coming back.

It was recommended to me so I thought I'd give it a try and I wasn't disappointed. The food was fab, good selection, nice little find. Will be going back soon. I also found out they deliver locally.

Second time here for the fixed price lunch. Everything was good, but the highlight is the Jungle Curry, So spicy it hurts, but totally addictive, you cannot stop eating it

Had a red Thai curry takeaway , Could not fault it . It was worth every penny . Duck meat was amazing as were the flavours . Sticky rice was also amazing . Will definitely be ordering again

We decided to try the Tue & Wed special deal and it was really good value. A starter, main and drink for £20 each. The food was really good quality and large portions. One of us is gluten free and they could advise on what dishes we could eat. So we had chicken satay, chicken pad thai and a coconut rice. The food was great, the restaurant vibe is nice and the service was really really good. The coconut rice took some time turning up but the man serving us was really honest and said he’d forgot to put it on the order (I did make the order overly confusing to be fair) and immediately sorted it. Big thumbs up for the honesty!! Summary: Great food Gluten free options and advice Great value Amazing staff!

A little too long to wait for main course however it eas well worth it delicious

So,here is my experience with this Thai restaurant. First of all very expensive for what you get!. Ordered the fishcakes,and was far from impressed with them,they were as rubbery,as a car tyre,the spring rolls were nice tho. When did a Thai restaurant,bring you sticky rice in a bag,thought it was Uncle Ben's at first,it was just a clump of rice in a bag,not nice at all. Had the Duck Jungle curry,best thing about this was the amount of meat you got,the curry was a bit to lame for me. I know we all have different taste,however this to me was one of the worse Thai restaurant I've been to. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place to my friends.

Well. What a truly glorious find. My brother and I went here last night and had the best meal in a long time. Have to be honest the outside doesn't do it justice and could look a bit yuk. However. Once inside its just lovely. Excellent attentive service. Such a deelish menu with lots of vegetarian options. But chicken,,pork,, prawn etc,, dishes also in abundance Many different tasty meals to suit everyone. A lovely vibe inside Faultless. 1st visit but DEFO won't be my last. Highly recommend

I ordered a takeaway from this restaurant - I love Thai food and my favourite chinese place in Howden was closed that day. Unfortunately, the food was nothing like Thai food you get i other places. The main course was drowned in oil, the vegetables well over cooked and almost disintegrated. The only flavour you could taste was a flavour of chilli and oil. I binned half of it. Despite that i was sick about 15 min later. My body rejected the food. Basically I wasted my money.

Another enjoyable evening here. I normally order a Thai Green Curry but decided to try the Jungle curry for a change. I took one mouthful and quickly downed lots of water! The waitress and the chef brought the other food to the table and on seeing my reaction to the jungle curry immediately offered to bring me an alternative dish! My husband by the way loved his jungle curry! Lovely staff excellent service.

Service was good, attentive but not OTT and a nice atmosphere. The food was amazing, salmon Thai red curry was best I’ve eaten and generous portion with 2 salmon fillets. They even let us bring some home as we couldn’t finish it!

Great food and service. We didn’t book and so was an impulse choice. It was reasonably busy but the friendly staff managed to squeeze us in.

We have just returned from a fabulous meal at the Thai Sunshine restaurant, as a expected traveler in Thailand and knowing the food well I can say this is one of the best Thai food restaurants I’ve visited in the UK looking forward to our next visit .

Best Thai restaurant in the area. Sometimes they could use a little more staff as it takes a while to get drinks orders etc but this would never put me off going back the food is that good.

Set meal option for 2. Great quality food served beautifully. Watch out for car parking as its strictly monitored by enpr and you will be fined 24h a day for any transgression. Not a good point to welcoming trade in Selby. Restaurant never fails to deliver on quality standards.

Ordered a simple choice of 2 starters and 2 mains for takeaway on Valentine’s Day. One of each was specifically vegetarian. Made nearly an hours round trip to collect, only to get home and find I’d been given completely the wrong food. None of which was vegetarian and was in fact largely all the deep fried starter stuff, which we didn’t want at all. Called to say what had happened but after being contested about it and a back and forth to assert that this was NOT what I had ordered, I was offered only the option to return and swap it. This would have been somewhat reasonable if it weren’t already about 9.30pm and would mean another hour to exchange. An apology and perhaps the offer of a meal on another occasion would have been appreciated. Instead we had to prepare a separate vegetarian meal for my wife and I had a small amount of the £40 erroneous takeaway, mostly for the sake of it not being entirely wasted. Emailed to reiterate the problem the next day and now nearly a week later I’ve still had no response. Shame as we’d never been before, I felt the restaurant looked quite pleasant when collecting food and would likely have returned many times otherwise.
