Spikes Bistro & Bar in Selby

Lovely food yet again. Staff very attentive. Fourth visit now and well worth it. Quality of food is very good. Atmosphere in Bistro is nice. Will be visiting again.

Came for lunch today with my Mother. We hadn't been before but the Dinsdale restaurant had been highly recommended to us. Our table had been reserved as I had spoken to Tony via messenger, it was quite busy with people having lunch already , once seated our orders were taken quickly & food served promptly. Both of our meals were very tasty, well presented & using good quality ingredients. All in all a very enjoyable lunch & we will certainly come again. Great Bonus given vouchers for 50% off food. A really nice touch was that Tony came over to introduce himself remebering my name. Thank you Tony

Visited yesterday for the first time really good the food was first class we all ordered different things and were all happy the food is all freshly cooked would recommend this restaurant the staff are all very welcoming will definitely be going back

We visited today on our way back from a shopping trip in York. It was just before 2pm, but the restaurant was empty. We waited for about 10 minutes but nobody came out. My son needed his nappy changing and I thought as there is a children's menu there would be a changing area, no. We went home hungry with a wet child. Very disappointed.

I have had the pleasure of eating a couple of times now at Spikes. The food is tasty and fresh. There are half a dozen or so choices over three courses, which is just right - you don't want to spend hours navigating your menu. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxing. The decor is contemporary - bright at lunchtime and candlelit in the evening. There is lots of room between tables which gives you privacy and helps them deliver great service too. And though it feels exclusive, based at Scarthingwell Golf Club, it's really not expensive. Highly recommended

Very impressed with the new Spikes Bistro, having used the original restaurant a number of times and could never complain, the team have excelled with the new offering of a casual bistro in what is a buzzing bar / bistro area; food 10/10, value 10/10, atmosphere 10/10. Give it a try!!!

We invited two friends to join us for a meal and drinks at the newly opened Spikes Bistro & Bar. It was only into there second or third week of opening so we thought there might be a few teething problems, but no everything ran very smoothly even though they were busy. We ladies had a very nice bottle of the house red between us and the gentlemen had larger Two of us had the Crispy Calamari for starters (which was Crispy) so often it has sat in a kitchen and goes soft. One had the fish cakes that I am informed were delicious. For the main course I had the Confit Duck Leg, again delicious on a bed of well made mashed potatoes and a rich sauce plus veg, yummy. Across the table my friend had the Beef Brisket (mini joint) that she enjoyed very much. The plates were warmed so that the food didn't go cold too quickly (one of my pet hates). The desserts are also excellent, I had the Chocolate Fondant just the right amount of sauce running out of the centre. One friend had the Lemon, lime and passion fruit cheesecake (tart). Prices are reasonable some of the wines are on the high side but they do wine by the glass I understand. No real ale on tap that I know of (that would have made my mans night) but maybe in the future? We will be going back, in fact a friend has just booked for a big birthday/anniversary do, so looking forward to that too.
