The best restaurants in Scalby, Hackness and Staintondale Scarborough Yorkshire and The Humber

Stayed here in august 2024 with husband and friends ,for an overnight stay with breakfast and evening meal. It was fabulous ! service cleanliness food everything 10/10 we've booked to return, The bar area needs more seating and outside furniture doesn't reflect the standards inside, just my opinion ! but certainly didn't impact our stay. Ideal place for staying when visiting around Scarborough and Whitby. The loft room is marvellous. My only criticism would be the bed linen. 100% cotton would have been great. Lovely bathroom,with thoughtful extras. Great food.

Stayed in the pub in a lovely double room. The bathroom was beautifully furnished with molton brown toiletries, and in the bedroom there was a fridge and a honesty box. We ate in the restaurant. Service was fabulous and the food was lovely. I had the fish stew. There is a great cocktail menu but it was a work night! Next morning the night porter couldn’t have been more helpful as we arrived a bit earlier than our scheduled 8am breakfast and offered to make us a coffee. 8am is a bit late for a business breakfast but….it was excellent and there was plenty of choice. Highly recommend everything about this place and it’s priced comparably to the chain hotel nearby.

Had lovely lunch at a reasonable price. Will visit again. Recommend the chicken caesar salad.

Bacon a bit not so bacony, tasted cheap, other than that a nice visit, well looked after, value for money and very filling, would enjoy another visit.

Fab location and prices seemed reasonable. Had a coffee that was cold and a piece of flapjack that was awful. It was almost like it wasn't cooked. Took one mouthfull and left the rest which was a shame as we'd walked a few miles to get there. Shame our experience wasn't as good as everyone else's.

Acabo de regresar de una estancia de una noche cama y desayuno. La comida era absolutamente preciosa como de costumbre, el personal de espera yong hizo un trabajo maravilloso. Desayuno recién hecho a la orden. La comida siempre es de primera clase, especialmente el cordero se acaba de derretir en la boca, maravillosa comida, buen personal, ¿qué más puede alguien querer?

Wow!!! Just loved this place, gorgeous breakfast so very nice. Cakes looked amazing. Gorgeous quality food, staff were so lovely and dogs allowed too. We shall return!!!! Delicious in every way ♡

Complete waste of time, rode over from Dalby forest for a spot of lunch to find the cafe covered in scaffolding and locked up. Is updating your website, google and TripAdvisor so hard? Shame we can’t comment on the food or service. Very disappointed in the lack of customer communication

This was our second visit as it was so fantastic back in February. It was just as amazing. We loved every dish. Absolutely fabulous and lovely service again. Nothing else to say just splendid and everyone who loves fish should treat themselves!

Not the Luxury hotel it claims to be. Staff were great but the hotel is tired and in need of a little TLC. We went for our 25th anniversary and were upgraded to a suite number 23 on arrival. Our bed was uncomfortable and well beyond its useful life on closer inspection after a bad night's sleep found the mattress to be stained and dirty and there was mould growing in the shower very unhygienic this spoiled what was a quite expensive 2 nights. Can not in all honesty recommend this place at these prices, shame as beautiful setting but overpriced and in need of care.

My first time in the Yew Tree today went with a friend the service was amazing and the food was even better, they are lovely people I noticed how kind they were to all the other customers 11/10 couldn’t be happier!

Amazing pizza and Lee was fantastic and very helpful won’t any questions

Came for a drink after a muddy walk from our Airbnb, wandered straight into the pub and Sara ( sorry if misspelt) was so lovely and friendly, we ended up staying for hours! All staff were lovely including landlady and a good nice local pub!

The food is spot on the service brilliant really generous portions had to have a doggy bag. The staff are friendly and helpful as well
