Stopped here for breakfast after getting turfed out of our lodge accommodation at 10am. Breakfast was lovely and really cheap and the staff very friendly and happy to see you

Best carvery ever far better than toby staff are lovely and if you dont fancy carvery then there is a full menu of other delicious meals to choose from. New manager now and Tom and his staff are making a good job of it just like Paul did Chloe Katie and Ju make us feel very welcome nice to see the same faces

Perfect, took my mum out for a late mother's day treat and food was spot on and the young man behind the carvery counter brought my pigs in blankets to the table as my wife is disabled and was on crutches but the staff are always spot on with great customer care 😀 defo becoming back and recommend a visit here

The food was real good however soft drinks abit over priced..pint sized glasses for 4 people one round £18 ..so alcohol maybe even more..get a wowcher for food reduces the meal however drinks you have to pay for...

This Stonehouse restaurant serves really nice food. It’s welcoming, reasonably priced and has a menu that caters for the whole family.

The outside of the building is very pretty. The food was lovely and the staff were very kind and helpful when asking about food intolerances. Would highly recommend and will return. Also good deals on through the week!

Most of the veggie menu was unavailable on the day due to kitchen issue. No straws for the soft drinks. Portion control was dire. Two of our plates had great portion of chips other two hardly any. Laughable how we had to arrange the plates at the table. Many embarrassing apologies from the Scalby Manor Team but no discount given. Cheap and cheerful establishment that could do with a little refinement when it comes to customer service. I think I would avoid a Monday going forward and it seems any issues from the weekend are faced by customers on a Monday. Nothing special and doubt we would visit again. Probably eat within the town going forward.

Very disappointed with my takeaway carvery despite having been a regular customer. Another very disappointing takeaway this evening. The Yorkshire Pudding was bigger than the sliver of dried beef i got!!🤬

One star is being generous. Don’t go to this place not only is the food dyer but they’ll also drop it and put it back on the carvary or the plate for you to still eat. Pure health hazard aswell as the building being unsafe, it’s falling to bits. Staff will be nice to your face then slag you off behind your back. Also bully their own staff out if they don’t fit in or are not liked and not to mention they all stink and need a good wash. Very unpresentable and unprofessional probably don’t even wash their hands. Needs shutting down. What a dive

Booked online and had a good carvery. Ideal of families but perhaps not for a special occasion.

Really good carvery with lots of choice. I tried all of the meats as they all looked delicious and then lashings of vegetables. The price was good for what we ate and the drinks were reasonably priced too!

Popped in for dinner on our quick trip to Scarborough. Super friendly service and delicious food made it very worthwhile! We had two burgers which were definitely needed after a long drive up. Puddings were lovely too.

Another Christmas Eve Carvery for 2024 which lasted well and had the rest next day as Christmas Dinner ,Well packed and beef stock gravy was gorgeous. Building dates to 1885 and was bought by the Hodgson’s in 1918. 👍 later sold to the Scarborough corporation in 1939. Now Part of the large Mitchell’s and Butler group with the Stonehouse carvery so you always get well looked after.

Great food, although my preference is for a softer veg and all was hard. Especially the brussels. But the food was delicious. We was seated in the lower section, it was warm enough but just felt slightly dated. Not dirty or anything, just felt a big old The staff were very efficient but front of house staff on bar and door shouted to each other a lot which I don't like. I like to feel relaxed not feel like I'm at work

We visit regularly, however this was our first Christmas day visit. Christmas dinner was fantastic, we all really enjoyed it and will book again for Christmas day next year.

Wyndyate - now Scalby Manor, a pub - was the home of Edwin Brough, a famous breeder of bloodhounds. Two, Barnaby (4) & Burgho (2) were taken to London to help try to track down Jack The Ripper in 1888 & became two of the most famous dogs in history. The dog kennels are, I believe, still at the rear of the pub, though not accessible to customers, which is a shame.

Always a welcoming place to go, the staff are all very friendly especially Nicola and Chloe, nothing is too much trouble. And the food is always nice.

The food was served quickly and it was lovely especially the crispy chicken bites. The service was really good and didn't make you feel rushed to leave. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

Went for lunch and breakfast on 2 separate occasions recently. Had carvery one day and buffet breakfast on the other. Both occasions were excellent, service was great and food was delicious. We will be back when next in the area. I wish I lived closer.

Excellent waitress service. Good value. Various menus. Just ask for what you want. All types of meat. Chicken and turkey. Meat. Lamb. Delicious pudding choices available. Ice cream .

Came in today for some food, Gemma served us, she is very friendly and an asset to your team. Connor, Paul (potter) and Jo the chefs cooked our food perfectly, my partner had the buffalo burger, lots of sauce and far too many chips, I had the bacon cheese burger, lots of bacon on there…will definitely be returning…thanks for a great visit.

Great, all you can eat breakfast 😋 on Tuesday. Dropped to hated it on wednesday as they changed the plans and when you approach the buffet they tell you if they are busy, you get called up, wow if a half dozen people is busy get a new job. No wonder it isn't busy with the gestapo on duty. Unfortunately, i will avoid now at all costs the lady at work on Tuesday we're great and mr grumpy on Wednesday could learn from them

Very disappointed, the eggs were stone cold, bacon overcooked and tasteless, black pudding was dry, the beans were OK oh and hash browns were nice, the chef was a miserable as a wet weekend, I won't be going back.

Popped in for Sunday carvery. Staff friendly and helpful. Carvery was very tasty, hot and plentiful. Would recommend!

Very slow service of food. Asks if want kids meal before others and said yes but came out at same time. Also told person having a carvery to go up when other food had already been brought out. Had upset stomach after eating the burger.

Disappointed that dogs are not allowed. Feel they are missing the boat due to the fact that there is a massive campsite next to it

Walked into pub, being told where to sit where kids were .smallest table ,we are disabled. Plenty of tables free like being at school being told where to sit. The worst Stonehouse in England. Just walked out.

Lovely carvery, the only thing I didn't like was the roast potatoes as they were more like Aunt Bessie's.

Mr Jobsworth wasnt very welcoming, in fact we all thought he was rather rude. The food was lovely and at the right price.

A very busy family friendly pub. Sunday lunch is reasonable and as long as you don’t mind a bit of a queue at the buffet which soon goes down it is tasty with lots of choice and a big plate full if you wish. Breakfast reasonably priced always busy.

This is just a warning to dog owners Scalby Manor is one of a very few scarborough pubs that does not allow dogs inside, eight of us turned up for a breakfast and although it was raining and windy outside with no one actually inside the pub, we were told because we had a dog, who is very well behaved, with us we could only sit outside to eat.

Booked into Scalby Manor at 2pm on Sunday 15th . On the plus side the the place is run very efficiently, with the staff clearing the tables and seating the customers. The quality of the vegetables at the self service Carvery was of good quality and tasty . Unfortunately the served meat was cut so thinly and small quantity ,that l was disappointed

I ordered a simple cheese burger, I watched the chef put it on the hot playe where it sat for 7 minutes going cold, won't be eating there again

It's a long time since I've been somewhere to eat with such friendly, helpful and proactive staff! The food was great, I had the turkey carvery and my friend one of the fresh dough pizzas. Both seemed very fresh, very tasty and generously sized. Good selection of nonalcoholic drinks. We went at 4pm on a Saturday and although there were quite a few full tables there was still loads of empty tables and plenty of parking outside.

ALL YOU CAN EAT BREAKFAST..... Really???? The building looks amazing, the food on the other hand doesn't. The price online says £5.99.... sounds cheap, when you get there it's not this price if you want a coffee that's an extra £2.50 if you want the pleasure of mushrooms that's an extra 50p per scoop so £5.99 is now about £9.00, theres not much option and what is there is greasy and burnt. No wonder this place is empty, no one wants to go back for another plate. I got Belgium waffles, they tasted ok but can't complain when there straight form a packet. No toppings for them tho just ketchup or brown sauce and no plates for them.. you get 1 plate "that's it" they get you this after ordering...... Do they think there going to be Nicked? Or just saving on washing. Won't be going back...... The person behind the counter is nice and polite tho. Thanks.

Delicious selection of food options. The fresh homemade pizza was tasty. The carvery on Sunday was truly enjoyable. The young waitress on the, £8.99 for any pizza night on Thursday nights was friendly, professional and helpful. She is should get recognition and credit as a valuable team member of the brand. Overall a very traditional experience with all you can eat options and hearty portions with a good standard of quality. Great value all round. Thanks for your efforts guys and compliments to the chefs.

Lovely carvery, not many staff and they were very busy and friendly. However the seat I was sitting on left a lot to be desired. It had so many marks on it. I hadn't realised until after. I would go again though.

Couldn’t fault any aspect of the visit! From the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, to the quality of the food - All spot on! Would thoroughly recommend!

Been going at 8pm for years to avoid crowds and kids, have been twice recently and told on both occasions that the carvery was finished, and only burgers and pizzas available. So if would appear that the carvery finishes at 8pm. Be warned.

We booked a table and after waiting for the wait to be seated for 5 minutes, we were sat in a corner. We ordered using the app which worked well. The drinks arrived in good time, as did the food. The place was fine, not the cleanest but okay. The host who sat us down was helpful but he did vape now and again which I don't like. Even though the website said last orders at 9pm, some people arrived at 8:30pm for food and we were turned away. We had planned on staying for a few drinks as we were staying in the campsite next door but the place died pretty early.

If you take kids to waterpark nearby this place is definitely worth a visit food is lovely staff are great thankyou will visit again

First time here food was lovely, had a carvery the beef was lovely and it was nice to see an option to have a very a very good quality sausage plus I also had a bit of turkey. All 3 meats was lovely, veg was cook nice not soggy and yorkshire pudding was crisp. All in all very good value and quality.

Very disappointing indeed. A restaurant with pizza in the advertising COULDN'T provide any pizza nor any starters!!! Not told prior to arriving and told midway through drinks on the bar and too late to move to another restaurant. Alternative food passable but no way good. Went here for the pizza for the majority of our party so extremely let down by this operation. Staff may not urn up but this should be managed. If you are planning to eat here I strongly suggest you ring to check they are serving the menu as advertised.
