Had 2 nights out of season in a very empty hotel, which is a shame, because the welcome was warm, the room large, clean and well equipped, the dinner very nice and breakfast quite adequate. Second night we seemed to be the only guests but the staff kept the standards high for us. A lovely rural setting though the grounds needed a bit of preening.

My husband bought me a £200 voucher for here for my 50th birthday. We decided to go Saturday 9th November. I had a spa treatment booked and it was really good by Mel it was priced in the spa menu £84 for the 50 min treatment. The pool and hot tub was closed due to it been out of season. The relaxing area where my daughter and husband waited was lovely. At 1pm we had lunch in the conservatory. We had our little dog Rocky with us. When we were seated there was a blanket waiting for rocky to sit on. The food was of really good quality and tasted and looked beautiful. My daughter is coeliac and there was plenty of choice for her. Overall the trip was lovely. Until I looked at the bill when I got home. I had been charged £95 for the 50 mins treatment. I've rang several times a day since Sunday.ive left a answer phone message and spoke to a man on Wednesday who said the lady manager would call me back. She never has. We didn't stay over just came for the day. Just double check your bill before paying shame I didn't. It's put me off going again.

Not the Luxury hotel it claims to be. Staff were great but the hotel is tired and in need of a little TLC. We went for our 25th anniversary and were upgraded to a suite number 23 on arrival. Our bed was uncomfortable and well beyond its useful life on closer inspection after a bad night's sleep found the mattress to be stained and dirty and there was mould growing in the shower very unhygienic this spoiled what was a quite expensive 2 nights. Can not in all honesty recommend this place at these prices, shame as beautiful setting but overpriced and in need of care.

Poor communication, closed over the weekend and no contact was made to certain members or phone calls returned. So I arrived to a closed facility this morning. staff are treated extremely poorly so I wouldn’t support the place as a business. Poor local reputation.

Booked in with friends for an afternoon spa session. 4 hours for more than £70. Very disappointed. Only one shower working. You’re expected to shower before using the spa facilities but with only one shower this was difficult. A shower nearer the pool and sauna rooms would have been helpful. We wanted a full shower before leaving. The glass was see through and there was no where near the shower to hang your towel. Wobbly taps. Limescale all over taps. Dirty changing room floor with clumps of hair on it. Rusty lockers. Doors touch pads covered in obvious fingerprints. Coffee/lounge area. Prosecco and wine available. No price list so appeared a part of the experience, but wasn’t, which we were told when we poured ourselves some of the open bottle. A bottle of milk ‘off’ in the fridge. Cleaning spray and cloth left where you make your coffee. No food available. When we asked we were offered a biscuit tin belonging to another group who used the leisure facilities. Water available by the few loungers by the pool. This was warm. My friend had a massage. The room was light. Not the right atmosphere. No luxury. Didn’t feel relaxed. The bed had a hole for your face which was normal but she could see the dusty floor and the therapists chipped toe nail varnish. The gardens were overgrown. Ragwort and other weeds in the very long grass. May have been left to be natural but even the edges that had been cut had had the cut grass left on them. Was supposed to be a special part of a celebratory weekend. Sadly it wasn’t. It’s supposed to be opened only a year. It didn’t appear this way. Won’t be recommending or going back

Extremely disappointing, expensive and waste of money! The steam room was out of order. The hot tub was cold and mucky. Requested the reception staff, as soon as we entered the spa and noted that the steam room was not working, to either refund or arrange it on another day. They said nothing can be done. The receptionist gave me an email address to email and request the refund. It’s 2 months now but still no response. We came to know that the steam room was not working since few days, the spa could have given us a courtesy call or email to let us know but they were not bothered as full payment was taken in advance. Would never go again and would not recommend.

I went for a meal at Cinnamon last night with two friends but got my first access refusal with my Guide Dog, I did point out that the law states Guide Dogs and all Assistance Dogs should be admitted to restaurants but the gentleman was very rude and refused me. He said my dog should be tied up outside.

Excellent Sunday carvery. Great choice of vegetables. Will come again next time we're in Filey on a Sunday. Excellent choice of drinks too.
