Fabulous place so warm and welcoming. Great atmosphere and music on a weekend with bands and karaoke, lovely friendly owners and top beer would defo recommend a visit 👍

The bar staff just spilt drinks all over our Xmas market shopping. All the gifts we bought were drenched in beer. He didn't even apologize or help, he just made us pay for the beer he split and walked off like nothing happened. All the gifts I bought were ruined. No apology or remorse, just moved on to the next customer and left us in our own mess. If I could post his face I would. I don't don't don't recommend. Unless you wanna walk off smelling like beer

Saturday night pop in turned into a few drinks and songs on the karaoke. Excellent DJ who mixed karaoke with soul tracks.

Came in for a drink with our dog on the friendly, so welcoming and dog friendly we came back Saturday, thank you

The warmest place in Whitby, friendly staff, and fantastic music from the 60s through to the 80s. Good range of beers. I do not touch shorts, but there seemed to be plenty of choices, including Whitby Gin.

We had just arrived in Whitby and went for a drink and wanted to text our grown up children to let them know we had arrived safely after a long journey from Southport on the opposite side of the country. Only to be told we had to put our phones away or go outside and had we not seen the signs and beer mats. Obviously we drank up and left, never to return again.

The Black Swan is a proper traditional pub in the heart of Whitby. There is a good choice of excellent quality beers lager, cider and a nice selection of wine. A really friendly welcoming pub, the staff are friendly, it's a nice cosy unspoiled community pub. The pub Sometimes has live music.

Have various different items from knifes to tobacco to touch's and plenty of other items definitely a place to check out. This is not a pub it's the black swan shop. They sell all sorts definitely worth a look.

Dog friendly. Friendly staff. Old school boozer. Only slight let down was the beer garden could do with sprucing up but was only there for a quick pint. Looked like there was live music on Friday night so should be a good night out in there.

Popped in here for a refreshment break. Ordered a vodka and lemonade. Lemonade was flat and had clearly been poured from an opened can of Sprite sat on the bar. When we advised the bar person the drink was flat, she was so rude and started slamming down glasses etc(I think we had disturbed her from her phone 🙄) she reluctantly poured us another from a fresh can, which was lovely and how it should be. The bar was empty, I wonder why? Extremely rude and unprofessional staff!

Nice little pub. We got a seat straight away by the open log fire. It was cosy and a warm welcome after the blustery conditions. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The white wine wasn't up to much but the 80s music videos playing on the TV was a good flashback to our younger years.

Only recently moved up last couple of months ago, went in this pub with a friend and everyone I have met at the pub are very friendly. The pub is very nice inside and good beers on offer and very friendly and helpful staff

Decent pint, not too dear and great atmosphere only downside is its cash only.

First time we had been in The Black Swan we found the service was excellent and larger was really good it showed that they really take care of the cleaning of the pup's.

Really friendly pub , nice manager/manageress, nice pint , we were made very welcome. Nice vibe in the pub , nice beer garden in back if you time the sun right. A no nonsense pub we both liked , also my wife was happy they sold miniature bottles of jack rabbit pino grigio, which was always ice cold .I would recommend it ,, nice experience

I'm here in Whitby having a solo weekend away. I have never in my life sat and had a drink on my own in a pub but nipped into here and it was so lovely!! Brilliant warm atmosphere, sat next to a lovely warm fire. Didn't feel like a freaky weirdo Billy no mates at all. Great little pub.
