Charming ambience… subtle lighting… warm and welcoming. We had the smaller tasting menu. The food was superbly presented , delicious flavours with exciting combinations and seasonal influences… this food rivals the Fat Duck and L Enclume as well as the Raby Hunt but at a fraction of the price … Congratulations to this stunningly talented young chef and his team. The wines too were sensibly priced with a good selection to choose from…. We work in hospitality so feel well place to assess… we know what hard work goes into it to keep very high standards… An amazing place on the up and coming …. Wow. Utterly incredible. The tasting menu was so incredibly thought out, even for a gluten free menu where you would usually feel like an afterthought. Lots of different food combinations and exquisite pairings. Every single one of the staff from the chefs to the servers were 5 star. Thank you!

We visited for food on Easter Saturday and the pub was very busy, it was easy to see why. Food order was taken (I had lamb rump) and both our meals were faultless, the nicest lamb I’ve ever had! The staff were great with our children and we were made to feel very welcome with activities to keep the kids occupied. Drinks were more than reasonably priced, Guinness was top drawer! We will definitely be back!

Visited the restaurant while on an overnight stay. The Coach House is a relaxed venue with friendly, well trained staff. Drinks were served to our table with impressive speed while we perused the menu. Service slowed from there - especially between starters and mains. We enjoyed the beautifully presented beetroot and asparagus salad- and the wild garlic soup was well received though a small bread roll would have been welcome. The white pork T bone got a thumbs up but there were issues with the flat iron steak main course. The meat was well prepared and served medium - as ordered. However, it came with chopped lettuce leaves which masqueraded on the menu as a ‘house salad’. There was also a half of a medium sized griddled tomato and chips (fluffy and crisp) which had just as many ‘scrappy’ examples as there were ‘chunky’. Just a little extra on this plate would have made all the difference. A further disappointment was the pan au chocolat bread and butter pudding which seemed to be void of the spices usually associated with such a dish and came with a really meagre quenelle of ice cream. I can understand why this restaurant is popular but I feel there is a question mark over value for money.

Came here 2 nights in a row as staying close by at Travelodge...can easily walk down.,. very cosy setting with restaurant and separate bar area. Good was excellent...home cooked and highly recommended... especially Steak and Ale pie. Prices were reasonable enough but service made it worthwhile...made to feel welcome on both nights. Booking is advisable but worth a visit to cosy boozer in a lovely village setting

Where to start? We were staying with family in Richmond for a bank holiday weekend break and went here for Sunday lunch. We arrived just one minute after our booking time to be greeted with an exasperated “at last” from the manager, which was rather ironic given the length of time we subsequently had to wait for our food. We were seated at our table in a virtually empty restaurant and ordered our food and drinks. Some 40 minutes later, we were finally served with our first course, the quality of which was underwhelming to say the least. About an hour and quarter after we arrived, and after a query from us about what was happening, we received our main courses. They were all no more than lukewarm. The roast beef dinners cost £22.95 each and I don’t think anything on them was actually cooked in the restaurant kitchen. It was so obviously mediocre quality bought-in packs from a catering company. Drinks were ordered but not brought until we reminded the staff. One drink was finally brought to the table as were about to leave. There was no member of staff in the dining room to whom we could complain but eventually the manager asked, in passing, how the food was. Unfortunately he didn’t actually stop at the table long enough to hear my reply. To add insult to injury, when we were presented with the bill, a 10% voluntary service charge had been added which, not unexpectedly, we declined to pay. All in all, we left feeling that we had been ripped-off, spoiling what we had hoped would be a happy family meal.

Dined here a couple of times before, normally great.. Although the food was good again, my poor review is based on the very poor ( and what i consider deliberate) service.. it was quite obvious a member of staff was going out if her way to make my experience a bad one.. Wont be going back…

I’ve been coming here for some years now and what a warm welcome I get after a two hour drive from Scotland. I always get the same, Oat milk Latte and porridge. Done to perfection. Karen who always serves me is a little ray of sunshine who always seems to brighten up my morning. Absolute five star service from Karen and the team. Always a pleasure to visit.

Always great food and a good laugh with staff, great wee place to stop at on the way back up the road

I love pasties, especially Cornish, but my Cornish pasty was a bit stodgy and filling average. Also food was labelled wrong on packet so I initially bit into a cheese pasty, which wasn't for me.

Today I met Sue on site and she was absolutely great! She was tremendously friendly and approachable and really made my day! Talk about going the extra mile! Thank you Adam

Worst KFC meal I have had - tables dirty, cold in the seating area due to air con and the meal really wasn't great- our tower burgers had a dark coloured hard, greasy, crunchy overcooked coating with dry chicken inside. Perhaps it had been sat too long waiting for it to be sold? It certainly wasn't fresh. Would be wary about eating chicken from there again. Not had this experience in a KFC before. Maybe someone higher up should be checking in occasionally to check on hygiene/food safety standards......

There’s a lot of disinterest, yet prices are sky-high. Chips are cold and stiff… But business is still booming — why wouldn’t it be?

There is no subway here, does not exist, have asked the services and it is long gone, absolutely no sign of it whatsoever !!
