Had a beautiful meal in Shama Restaurant Food was very authentic and so very good Loved the way the Naan bread was presented. Our waiter was very attentive Will go back next time we're in Huddersfield
Very Good restaurant…extensive menu , starters huge and of excellent quality , mains very good , naans beautifully fluffy with burnt bits👍🏻 , customer service very professional….. a thoroughly enjoyable meal out with family,,,,,,, well done and thank you Team Bengal Spice
Easy to find, on the main road, with a small car park behind, there is street parking nearby. The menu is as you would expect in a good Italian restaurant. The service was smooth and efficient, albeit slightly muted from the young staff. N.B. The toilets are up several steps so not easily accessible to everyone.
There were four of us. 3 of us had starters, all 4 of us had mains and a drink or two. The food was nicely presented and very tasty, and was exactly as we expected from an Italian restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their food. The bar stocks the usual drinks, priced as expected ( gin £7.50, pint of peroni £5.70 etc) with a couple of alcohol free options available. All sides (fries, salsa, vegetables etc.) are extra to the mains. The bill came to £122 so not the cheapest out there, big eaters and drinkers could spend a lot more. However, there is an early bird menu during the week that looked to offer good value.
Overall it was a very enjoyable visit and we would eat there again.
Passing through Mirfield on the navigation on a Saturday, couldn't be bothered to cook so sought out something a little more upmarket than the pub's burgers. This restaurant is around 3/4 mile out of town and at first sight situated in a less than ideal location, next to an industrial/trading estate. But once through the doors, a warm welcome - the proprietor juggled tables to make room for the three of us (around 1800) on what was otherwise a fully booked evening. We all opted for the salmon special on a bed of spinach, veg or salad side dish included at £19.50. Fish precisely cooked - big tick! The usual range of Italian puddings, and none the worse for that as they were very well done. Went off-piste with the wine, a NZ sauvignon blanc (at £28), in order to get a drier mouthful than the house white. So, around £108, before tip, for the three of us - acceptable for food and wine of this standard. Would return (with a booking!) if in the area again.
Love this place! Consistently fantastic. Exceptionally good quality fresh food, amazing coffee- the chocolate orange mocha is the best!
Always a warm welcome from the staff and you can tell they really care about the business which is often rare to find. Good value for money.
Cider press used to be our favourite place to visit. It's now under new ownership and the menu has vastly reduced and prices increased. It used to always be busy to the point we've been turned away due to the queue of people waiting for tables . There was no one there when we arrived at lunchtime although some more people did turn up after a little while. The cider of course is still a major draw but I'm not wowed by the choice of sandwiches in comparison to what used to be on offer. Perhaps in time the menu will improve...but it's disappointing at the moment. But the lovely friendly atmosphere it used to have seemed to be a little lacking. Time will tell...
A great mexican dish for lunch with excellent cider in the (small) main cafe. In the height of summer there's a conservatory area. Quirky and interesting, very friendly staff.
A good bar and restaurant, perfect for casual dining. The tapas menu offers a good variety although more fish options would be nice. Portions are substantial and quality very good. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Amazing breakfast great value and fabulous filter coffee. We travelled from Mirfield for the second time and brought friends this time who loved it. The man in charge is fantastic so friendly. Must book always busy.
This is a great find! Open until 3pm. We had toasties and tea. Toasties were incredible and well filled. Tea was perfect (wide range available) and the baked goods looked divine! The place has lots of original features as well and wonderful old photos of the local area.

Don't come here often as we're not local to the village but been quite a few times and can honestly say its been fantastic every time. If we were local it would be our go to place.
