I think this old traditional little tea room deserves it's 5* review. We had a warm welcome, it was a relaxing atmosphere and staff lovely. I'm very fussy about my food and I had no complaints whatsoever. Nicely presented, well cooked and piping hot and good sized portion. Good variety on menu. This is a dog friendly place and noticed the little dog on the next table was served a sausage, thought this was a nice touch. Left feeling very relaxed. Will definitely be returning on a next visit to the area.

Holmfirth is known for its filming location for Last of the Summer Wine. Car Parking in the area is plentiful. As we were on a road trip this was arranged to visit as a stop over on our journey. Arriving around 3pm the car park (Crown Bottom) had spaces available, we paid £1.60 for 1 hour and after 4pm there is free car parking. We visited the main sites of the filming in town and found Nora Batty's cottage which is next to the Wrinked Stocking Tea Room (Huddersfield Road) in the centre of Holmfirth. We paid for tea and cake which came to a reasonable £12.50 for two. The tea room is full of memorabilia of the TV series. Next door provides an opportunity to stand on the staircase of Nora Batty's cottage (which you can also rent out as a holiday let) to take photos. If you are a fan of the TV series then Holmfirth and surrond villages (other film locations) is a must stopping point/holiday visit.

We popped in here for a cuppa & a slice of cake while we were out & about visiting the area . We were seated in a little back room , we ordered tea for two, my husband chose the lemon cake which he enjoyed & I had the walnut cake , I was really disappointed with my choice - it was dry & didn’t really taste of much . Fab cuppa though !!!

We were looking for an early lunch and had 3 dogs with us. The dogs welcome sign on the door led us in where we were made extremely welcome. The breakfasts were still being served so we went for them and were not disappointed! The dogs were even given a wee bowl of sausage each too! The waitress was very friendly and professional, nothing was a bother. Food was tasty and great portion sizes, my husband had a hot beef roll with the most delicious onion gravy. I've tittled this if it ain't broke don't fox it. Why? Stumbled upon this place on way to York for a weekend travelling via Holmfirth. Have to say what an absolute find. Had the large breakfast with coffee and orange juice and it was big and superb quality and value for money. For a tourist place, Last of the Summer Wine fame, one usually expects to pay far more for food and drinks so I was totally surprised. About an hour and 15 from where I live and already planning another visit with more family members before Xmas. And dog friendly. Such places who produce quality food, great setting and great value for money deserve to be kept alive for all to enjoy and experience. Forgot to take a photo of food because I couldn't wait to tuck in.

Visited today, for lunch, with my one year old daughter. The food was fresh, tasty, and well presented. The ‘proper chips’ were amazing! The gentleman working up front, couldn’t have been more helpful - he offered a highchair without me asking, and helped with getting the pram out when I left. He also set the tea pot down on the table, well out of reach of my daughter - unfortunately, this doesn’t come as standard in a lot of establishments, so this small , considerate act is always appreciated. I also noticed they had a shelf full of children’s books - such a nice touch. I didn’t have time to stay for cake, but will certainly be making a return visit - they looked amazing!

I personally admired the fried eggs, cooked to perfection and not at all greasy. Lovely idea of a children’s hot chocolates with the “works” at only £1.50 - one of the children’s cake free with the meal.We travelled an hour to specifically come here and it was so worth it. We’ve visited here a few times but unfortunately have stopped going now as feel children really are not welcome. The food is lovely (especially the soup) but one experience put me off going in which my toddler poured the sugar packets from the pot, I left them out for her to play with (not all of them of course) as she was simply lining them up. After a few minutes the woman owner (apologies I don’t know names) told the male to tidy it all up which meant leaning over us and then made my daughter upset. I would’ve of course tidied them up Before we left and did say this at the time. Also found conversation quite hard with the staff and felt like we where a burden for having children there. Again I cannot rave about the food enough but I won’t be visiting again until my children are much older

Called in this week whilst in Holmfirth. Was ok but nothing amazing, table next to us did have a breakfast order and that did look good but we had come a little later on and ordered off lunch menu. Staff were great but feel food didn't really blow me away. Next time might arrive earlier and try breakfast!

Just stopped by for a bowl of soup and a cake or two. Very friendly service and excellent food. And they gave a sausage to our dog :)

Do not visit Holmfirth and leave without visiting this little gem. There were 7 of us tucking into full English breakfasts. The food and service was outstanding. We each had variations to the menu but non of this was a problem. The staff engaged in conversation and a little banter which we all enjoyed. A must for a revisit when next in the area.

Lovely little cafe, loved having tea served in the quaint proper little tea pots. The cakes looked really nice and next time will definitely have food! Decor was lovely, almost like something from a Beatrix Potter book (meant in the most complimentary way possible). Particularly wanted to mention how nice it was to have all the little handy stuff in the bathroom, everything & anything you could want for! I think it’ll be a regular for us as we often come to holmfirth x

Walked down the hill from our hotel and was desperate for a drink so popped in as this was the first place we came across, not disappointed. My friend had homemade soup which was beautiful and I had lemon and ginger cake with a cuppa.... amazing! If I'm ever in this part of the country again I will certainly be visiting again.

We called here for an afternoon snack during a weekend visit to Holmfirth. We sat at a table and waited a long time before anyone came over to us. We then asked for a menu, and the gentleman there brought us one, but did not bother to take away a used coffee cup that had been left on the table. We went to the counter to order a sandwich for my husband and a scone with jam and cream for myself, and 2 teas. Our order came, and the gentleman then took away the dirty cup. My scone was rather hard and was very dark brown underneath. Very disappointing. My husband though said his sandwich was very nice, though the salad leaves accompanying it looked very wilted.

Fleeting visit, ideally located near centre of Holmfirth. Nora Batty’s house next door and Last of the Summer Wine museum underneath. Clean tea room friendly staff and the food looked great!

We only went in for a Sunday morning coffee but we were amazed at the quality and huge quantity of food on the breakfast plates being served. If we hadn't already had ours, then this would have lasted us all day. All food cooked as ordered, so be prepared for a short wait !! Photos of Nora Batty and Compo on the walls which take you back to that great BBC programme.

Lovely breakfast and very good, friendly service - if this was the small breakfast you'd have to be Desperate Dan to eat the large one! Called back later for a slice of cake to take away to our bolt hole next door but one. No need to venture further than TWS, it delivers on all fronts.

Went for lunch, my wife had the fish butty and I had the roast beef with onions and gravy. They were brilliant, a lot of fish and beef, and very tasty. Great ale on tap, what more could you want?

This was our 4th outing to this superb restaurant for Sunday lunch. Our friends were as impressed as we were once again. The food was outstanding, the service exemplary and we could not have been treated any more like VIP’s by Francis and his team. The entire experience was indeed just wonderful and we will be back again very soon. Thank you everyone. You’re true professionals.

Booked a table for 4 for 7:30, we arrived on time, were shown to our table swiftly and had good attention from the wait person. However, on booking the website said the table needed to be vacated by 9 [which is actually when they say they close mid-week]. It was 8:30 by the time our food arrived, which if we had had to leave at 9 was a joke. Maybe this was to give you time to buy the expensive drinks. I thought the soft drinks were highly priced. I had to ask twice for mayonnaise with the chips. As another reviewer has noted, it probably is a venue for the younger generation, we were next to a table who were so loud it was difficult to hear each other speak. The burgers were not as filling as I had expected for hand made [I had the Ho Chi Munch [which I thought for a veggie option was overpriced as beetroot is not as expensive as beef] , others had the Boss, the Old Skool & the LTO. I doubt if we'll go again.
