The best restaurants in Birstall and Birkenshaw Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

I have been coming to this shop since the early 1960s, when I was a little boy and fish & chips cost one shilling and sixpence, and wrapped in newspaper! In all this time I have never had a bad experience. The fish is always fresh and fried in tasty batter, and the chips are just yummy. The people who criticise the quality of the food are just fussy buggers!

Server never acknowledged our booking, placed menu on table and walked off. We therefore walked out. Cherry on the cake recieving a message saying booking had been cancelled due to not turning up. Won't be returning

No volvería a ir ya que la experiencia era pobre. Servicio lento, sandwich de mala calidad y muy caro. ¡Tostadas secas de sándwich de verduras asadas con poca verdura asada fría y un poco de ensalada!

Shout out to the lovely delivery driver who surprised me and my colleague tonight with some food, it raised morale and made the rest of our shift durable. Really nice kind gesture. Brilliant service. Top pizza

I can't comment on atmosphere as I only ever buy takeaway, however, the food is always bang on point, well worth a try if you haven't already! Also though, I gotta let it be known, driver in the silver golf, what a guy, friendly AF, my guy font mess about getting the food to ya HOT! I font know the guys name but he's a definite asset to Star pizza!

The sandwich was okay but they didn't have any lettuce (which is the main staple for a salad!) as it hadn't been delivered. There's a Tesco up the road they could have bought some in! This was at lunchtime on a Monday! Everything else was fine. Staff were friendly enough. Not much parking. Haven't had a Subway in a while and I'm not sure I will be rushing back.

No hace mucho tiempo, mi novia y yo creíamos una pizza o pasta antes de que la película comenzara en Showcase Cinema. Sin embargo, notamos que la calificación de Higiene estaba pegada en el vidrio cuando ingresó. LLEVA UNA CLASIFICACIÓN DE HIGIENE 1 DE 5. He trabajado en catering durante más de 20 años en la cocina. Un puntaje de 1 no es solo un mal día o mala suerte. Debe haber algo SERIAmente incorrecto / descuidado para obtener eso. Al borde de la comida cruda y la comida cocinada estar juntos. No hay agua corriente. 1 DE 5 es un peligro grave para la salud. Estoy agradecido de haberlo visto y también agradecido de que ningún niño o anciano pudiera haber estado en nuestra fiesta. Mi tienda local de Kebab tiene 4 de 5 estrellas. No me creas, mira por la ventana que con orgullo lo muestran. El Missus luego notó trampas para ratas de RENTAKILL en todo el perímetro del edificio. Los contenedores en la parte trasera también eran absolutamente asquerosos. Uno estaba a medio camino en el aparcamiento con la tapa abierta.

Terrible experience as again we were given a bill that was wrong and the staff were very rood When we question the bill so will never walk in that place again.

We went with friends on Friday afternoon to celebrate my birthday. The actual restaurant is in the process of being refurbished so at the moment they are using the function room at the back of the hotel, but it was very pleasant and welcoming. Because the weather was so nice however we decided to eat outside on the veranda. The menu had changed since the last time we visited and was probably more limited than normal, but that is understandable in the present circumstances. Everything we ordered was excellent and the service was second to none. I would particularly like to thank our waitress Madeline, who was very friendly and helpful, in fact she went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. All in all a very pleasant afternoon and we will definitely return once the restaurant reopens.

Another beautiful meal at Sammy's last night! We’ve have been coming here for years. The staff are always friendly & the food is always fresh & delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a lovely meal or takeaway! ⭐ it’s bring your own alcohol too so you can bring your favourite bottle 🍻 The fish masala & lamb tikka are amazing!

Ive had many meals from the Mild Seven , every single one have been delicious. Fantastic food and brilliant service . Highly recommended 👌
