We went with friends on Friday afternoon to celebrate my birthday. The actual restaurant is in the process of being refurbished so at the moment they are using the function room at the back of the hotel, but it was very pleasant and welcoming. Because the weather was so nice however we decided to eat outside on the veranda. The menu had changed since the last time we visited and was probably more limited than normal, but that is understandable in the present circumstances. Everything we ordered was excellent and the service was second to none. I would particularly like to thank our waitress Madeline, who was very friendly and helpful, in fact she went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. All in all a very pleasant afternoon and we will definitely return once the restaurant reopens.

The food and the service were excellent nothing more i can say but thank you the evening went extremely well.My wife and I will definitely return.

We came for an early tea on a Friday night with a 3 year old and 5 year old. The safety measures in place were the best I've seen and the lady that looked after us could not have been nicer, more accommodating, more professional or more engaging. Thank you Stacey! The food was varied, good value and the pizzas were top class. The wine was much needed and tasted great, it was lovely to see a New Zealand Sav Blanc on the menu and it did not disappoint!

Avoid if you can. Nicer places to eat nearby. Food is poor - menu looks quite nice but it’s definitely not an Italian restaurant. Garlic bread tasteless - made with just a drizzle of garlic oil. Pizza - same. Sea food pasta - thin sauce which made the deep fried battered fish soggy.

Living in the local area we've walked past Massimo dozens of times and always said we needed to book in some day. Well that day finally came and we were booked in for a meal for 2 on a saturday night in August 2020. We arrived to find it was only us and another couple in, fair enough. I pulled out my chair to find it covered in crumbs; bad start. The menu arrived and it was basically a scaled down version due to Covid which is fine, if that's what you're advertising online. Having dreamed of duck breast with fondant potatoes as advertised online I was disappointed to find what was actually im on offer was the kind of food you could get in any Wetherspoons up and down the country; fish and chips, pizza with one basic topping etc. Ok fine, it is what it is and we're here now. But now we're having to be moved because all we can hear for our romantic night out is the rowdy wedding guests on the terrace outside. I've been to weddings, I've been just as lairy, I aren't knocking them in the slightest it would be hypocritical to do so, but why they are mixed with the evening restaurant guests is baffling in what is supposed to be a hotel with decent standards. We moved tables to a table next to the window which was quieter but was next to a windowsill that was dusty, dirty and covered in dead flies, see pic. The floor too was littered in crumbs which there was no excuse for when the restaurant was as quiet as it was.To be fair the food when it came though basic was very nice and the girl servings couldn't have been more apologetic and was a credit to the restaurant, but if I was to say I would ever return to Massimo I'd be lying, I'd rather get an M&S microwave meal and have a better experience.

We ate at the restaurant as hotel guests...it was a quiet night and service was fast. The food was cooked fresh and was very tasty. The portions were very generous. The menu had enough choices to suit most people.

We visited the spa next door and decided to eat in the restaurant. We were not disappointed. I had potato skins to start and others had prawns. We all had pasta dishes which were delicious. The portion sizes are very generous

We were staying on a spa break which included a meal in the restaurant so didn't have too high expectations, but my risotto was absolutely delicious as was my daughter's pizza - certainly too much for her to finish! I had the mille feulle to finish, which is an unusual desert and was home made and lovely. We finished the meal with coffees and it came well within our £25 budget allocation.

The food was average. The restaurant was very cold when me and my mum visited and we waited along time for our meals even though the restaurant was very quiet. I doubt I will return.

Food is not bad, wine choices are terrible, really under staffed. We also had a brand new waitress (I’m guessing) and she was shaking so much she nearly dropped the very, very hot plates....not her fault, but I don’t think she had received any training at all. The bar had one person who coped well but it was so busy she couldn’t really keep up. They could do with sorting out a no smoking outside eating area....the balcony with pleasant views over the garden stank to high heaven.

Arrived for afternoon tea. Sat on dirty table, drinks came - no milk. Had to search for a member of staff up get some. Food came, barely anything on the plates. We asked where the rest of the food was as there were 3 of us and were told that was it (see picture). One of us is allergic to strawberries and strawberries were on the food. After asking to speak to a manager some more food did arrive but as this was a birthday present it spoilt the experience. Service was terrible. Don't waste your money.

In my experience the Gluten Free Pizza bases are shop bought prepared and frozen. Not here they are made from scratch in a separate section to avoid cross contamination, so you get a full size quality pizza and I have to say the best GF pizza I have had. To top that the crime brûlée was excellent. Now my go to hotel for Leeds visits

We have stayed ar Gomersal Park Hotel many times and it's one of the places my kids love to come too, and they love dinning in "Massimo". Great food, great service, lovely modern style restaurant with good choice of mains , desserts and pudding.Our last visit there weren't many "daily specials"on the boards. The only negative Id like to note is that the menus doesn't change.For guests that choose to dine at Massimo when they stay at Gomersal Park Hotel regularly, it would be nice to see a fee changes to the menu now and again Looking forward to planning another visit over Summer 2019!. Keep up the great work!!😁

We came for my daughters birthday, been a few times before and normally love it, however it lacked atmosphere, and the food was very disappointing not the same at all not sure if they have a new chef, but we were very disappointed

Ate here with a colleague mid week whilst on a work trip and it was very good and the service was also excellent.

Really enjoyed eating here. We were staying at the hotel on a Spa package and a £25pp evening meal allowance was included . The food was lovely, good menu choice and quality. We all really enjoyed our meals The staff were attentive and friendly.

I'm an electric wheelchair user and I booked a table for 2 this morning for 1300. We got there at 1300 and the restaurant was empty. The waiter gave us the menu's and I had a fresh Orange juice and my driver had water. We ordered Lasagne. It took 30 minutes to cook but it worth the wait because I said everything fresh. I had Parma cheese on mine. It us a hour to eat it. The waitress left on 1410 and told us to tell reception when were finished.

Went to this restaurant on Saturday afternoon and we were the only people there .so a bit worried as to why it was empty.We ordered our food ,the waitress was lovely and friendly and polite ,The food arrived and was lovely .Bruschetta looked and was great and a good portion .Chiili belly pork was delicious .The mains were equally as good and the special of lamb cutlets arrived very well presented and i was a tad disappointed with the portion size but to be honest .It tasted amazing and the portions size was perfect .I cleared my plate but didn't feel hungry .

Amazing food, the fillet steak was honestly the best I’ve had. If your in there area, give this place a visit.

We ate here whilst staying at the hotel and went for it as the easy option as we didn't want to go far.

The penne with smoked chicken and mushroom was full of flavour - highly recommended! My partner had risotto with prawns, chorizo and chilli which was also very good. Good selection of wines by the glass.

The food at this place is ridiculously good, the soup was probably the best I have ever tasted and the pizza was certainly up there with the best I have had in a restaurant.

We’ve always seen the signs for here and though we would give it a try. The food was delicious, the atmosphere however lacks. It’s in a hotel, so you’ve got the breakfast bar nearby. It’s needs some background music. However don’t be put off the food is great. Plenty of parking great venue for events like weddings etc.

I booked here on a Friday evening for my birthday meal with my family. The restaurant wasn’t very busy but there was no atmosphere at all. The food was nice but not fantastic, but the little waitress was great, really attentive and really polite and helpful. We thought at the end of the meal she deserved a good tip but she told us she wasn’t allowed it, the staff don’t get tips and it all goes to the hotel. I was quite disappointed by this and withdrew the tip. We have decided not to return. I used to visit here a lot with a group of around 10 friends but after another incident of meanness on the hotels part we have now moved on to somewhere different.

We booked a family meal for my mums 70th absolutely amazing food and outstanding service couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

The food here was not of my taste at all. I eat out 4 nights a week and easily pleased. This hotel restaurant did nothing for me whatsoever. Set in a dated setting, cold and miserable to the eye. Needs a total refurbishment and the artificial ivy hanging from the ceiling, well......

I have reviewed the food under the hotel entry. In summary: ambitious food not all of which is delivered quite to perfection. Maybe I should have tried the regular Italian pizza or pasta dishes. I found the dining room at night rather cold in atmosphere. But the service was good. And, if you are really an Italian restaurant, please try to spell everything correctly (duck = anatra, for example) and remember where not to put an apostrophe S!! This restaurant is fine for captive hotel diners but not a venue I would go to for a night out.

Mixed review. First night I had the best soup ever. Spiced pumpkin soup was amazing followed by the king prawn, chorizo risotto. Both fantastic and fully recommend.

The place is nice big and the staff are friendky and accomadating we ordered of the main menu the starters were nice the calazone was nice i woukd recommened the pizza kiev that was lovely the only thing was the side chips onion rings and sweer potatoe fries they all had a funny taste from the oil may be just our taste buds but we didnt eat them all in all was nice and fairly priced

Went here for lunch with my partner and two friends thinking it was going to be enjoyable. I ordered Insalata di Calamari e Polpi for starter and Risotto for my main. The Calamari was fairly chewy and the octopus was literally invisible, the dish also had sliced chillis on but it didn't state this on the description on the menu. The restaurant was empty apart from our table but the main still took ages to come. To be honest it wasn't worth the wait, the prawns in my risotto were overcooked and the chorizo was cut into chunks and I don't think that was even cooked.

So very impressed by the standard of food and service at this restaurant. All food was clearly freshly cooked, great portions and reasonably priced. In particular desserts was out of this world. Eating area is so spacious and comfortable. Staff were fab, in particular.... Vicky. We will definitley be coming back and recommending. What a gem of a place.

Our meal was booked for 7.30pm but we decided to have a few drinks in the lounge area first. We arrived at 6pm and the lounge was empty, however it took us a while to get served, (even acknowledged) as the staff were more bothered about the wedding speeches next door! The staff kept walking straight past us. The lady that eventually served us was very pleasant. As we sat in the empty lounge we realised that several wedding guests started entering. We didn't want to intrude so we felt we had to move into the dining area next door, and I'm glad we did as soon after the lounge was full of the whole wedding party. I think the staff could have informed us of this beforehand... We didn't have much hope for the meal as we felt really un-important.

Mum's 70th meal. No one had a bad word to say about the food. As always its top notch to go along with the excellent service. Keep it up guys

When we arrived the staff were more bothered about what they were having rather than coming over to seat us at the place that says please wait to he seated. When my starter came it had plastic left around the pate. After we had finished our mains it took 45 minutes for them to come out and ask if we wanted coffee or desert. And took a further 15 minutes to bring the bill over. This could be excused if they rushed off thier feet but there was maybe a total of 4 people eating and about 10 drinking. Won't be coming back here.

We ate in the restaurant during our stay at the hotel. The menu offered a great selection of food and the set menu was really good value. The staff were very attentive and the food delicious.

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend and ate here for all meals. Had a duck dish wish was absolute perfection. The chef is clearly a master of his craft. I would suggest some portions could be a little smaller to increase profits because the prices really are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Especially the weekend offers menu. We were left waiting with regards to the service on every occasion though. No offer of further drinks and having to ask for desserts or the bill, when someone was actually around to ask. When we were the only table in there it should really have been a better experience in that respect.

Good Italian food, and nice atmosphere. Would be better if the portions were slightly smaller, especially the pasta based ones. I’ve had to leave some every time I’ve been and I hate wasting food.

Dieses Restaurant kann ich für ein gemütliches Abendessen empfehlen, hier gibt es tolle italienische Küche, wie ich sie in England nicht erwartet hätte. Die Portionen sind eher groß, jedoch schön angerichtet und qualitativ gut. Das eine oder andere Gericht ist vielleicht nicht ganz so, wie man es in Italien serviert bekommen würde, aber das bereitet dem Geschmack keinen Abbruch. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

We booked this so all the family could all get together after Xmas & New Years as it is getting so big. Spoke to the head chef who put a great menu together for us as we all like Roast Belly Pork half had that the others chose off the a la Carte menu. There were 22 of use in total so we were in a room just off the restaurant, Everyone loved the food which was plenty full , tasty and presented well. The staff looked after us all very well and could not do enough to keep us happy. It went so well we are thinking of making this an annual event so we can all get together eat well & be looked after. Thanks to all there who made our day the best .Thank You all for the great hospitality given to us shame more restaurants cannot deliver the same package. Keep up the good work

We visited as part of a spa break in the Gomersal Park Hotel. The food was top quality with very good service. Order the steak you won't regret it!

Staying at the hotel for a coUpleadon of nights we took advantage of the on site Italian Restaurant.The menu was varied with plenty of choice for my husband who is up fortunately allergic to both cheese and tomatoes. ..not great in any Italian restaurant! !!! The service was friendly helpful and efficient.Although 2 large Christmas functions were progress the service and quality of our delicious meal was certainly not compromised. Full marks to all concerned and Happy Christmas

I used to love this place and went twice a month at least! My partner and I went on a Sunday afternoon about 4pm for late lunch. We stood at the table waiting to be seated (there was no-one else in the restaurant) whilst the bar maid served drinks behind the bar (she was quite busy) we waited for approx. 10 mins for someone to come. Two members of staff passed by us (I'm sure one was the manager who walked into the kitchen) Still didn't get spoken to we waited until the bar maid had finished serving and she just kept looking at us!!! After another 5 mins we walked out in disgust!!!! They have kissed a lot of money goodbye as we normally recommend them to business colleagues and friends as well as being regular customers

Excellent food and service, we had a hendo of 20 of us and 2-3 courses each. We also had a time limit and a tight turn around before we were leaving to go into Leeds.

I stayed at the Gomersal Park Hotel which is attached to Massimo's and so had my evening meal there. I'm a vegetarian and was worried there may not be much to choose from. I was wrong, there was quite a variety of meals to choose from and the chef was happy alter my dishes as requested. All the staff were polite and helpful. Also it was value for money.

Wide selection available from full English to cereals fruit etc. Staff were very friendly And helpful.

Didn't book so had to wait a little for a table, all the staff were really efficient and friendly, we both had the 2 course meal which for £12.95 each was good value, It was all home cooked and piping hot, really tasty and generous portions. We will be back when in the area again.

We pre booked our meal as part of a package to stay over night at gomersal so can't comment on the prices as our package included our meal which we were very pleased at. I had the gnocchi and the pepperoni pizza which were both delightful. The portions were generous and I struggled to finish the whole meal. The service was very good and we received our food shortly after we had ordered it.The food was very nice and flavoursome and everything i would expect from a Italian resteraunt.

Had an evening meal on the night prior to my daughters wedding, the waiter had informed us there maybe a wait due to a large party who had already pre-booked, we said this was fine and understood, we were surprised just hoe fast they did take the order and deliver the food without the long wait, food was good and plentyfull, recommend to all

Staff were lovely and really looked after our group. We had a choice from the main menu and it was all fantastic. Large portions and very tasty. I had the crab bruschetta and the king prawn risotto and they were both great. If I was to give a negative - The beetroot in the beetroot salad was pickled not fresh. But couldn't really fault anything.

I stayed 2 nights Dinner B & B. First night staff weren't as attentive as the second which I think was becuase the duty manager was not there. First morning the staff were too busy chatting to notice I was about 6ft away and they cleared my table, juice, tea, everything.Second evening they had no risotto, avocado, scallops or pork which limited the menu quite a bit for me. Second evening also ruined by wedding party with children basically taking over the lounge area plinking on the piano, playing hide and seek between diners etc

As a lone traveller I felt very comfortable enjoying an evening meal in the Massimo restaurant. The menu was varied and great value for money for those with families to feed. It took me a while to decide what to choose, and wasn't disappointed with vegertarian anti pasta along with a chicken caesar salad. At under £5 per glass, my favourite tipple, rose prosecco, was the perfect accompaniment to any meal so I had two! Would recommend this as a great place to eat. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Ordered olives and bread as a starter. V small probably tinned green olives with some nicer small dark herbed. 3 types bread. Olive bread was rock hard / stale. To be fair the olive oil and balsamic dip was fabulous. Not at impressed. Penne arrabiatta main. Best described as pasta with pizza toppings! Same small olives. Few sun dried tomatoes. Bit of pepperoni sliced up. Tomato base sauce. Herbs. Basil. Capers. Pretty useless really. Is it just me or is Arabiatta a bit more than this. Lazy. Unimpressive. Shame as night before had cod loin (great) and mixed starter (again great).

The fillet steak is fantastic and would highly recommend it to anyone eating here, cooked to perfection and the restaurant is full of helpful and happy staff to boot

Very lovely party organized by manager Collin . Service was absolutely lovely . All the staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome . Food was tasty and atmosphere was great . We had an amazing time and we would recommend it to anyone . We got a complete separate room for our party , everything we asked for was prepared how we wanted it . It was perfect . Thank you for making this day special for us xxx

Food excellent.Service extremely poor. Only two tables were dining and they still managed to get the orders mixed up. Place never seems busy. Shame really. If their service was upped then it would be an OK place to eat.

Every member of staff who works inside the restaurant were so polite and lovely they are a credit to the hotel.Not really a large choice of dishes to pick from but the food we did pick was amazing The prices are rather high which was expected really Breakfast was nice too :)

I was staying at the Gomersal Park Hotel and as I was working late, I ordered room service from the Italian restaurant that included a £4 tray charge - usually with room service I find there is a slight slip in quality- certainly not the case here! It's the massimo restaurant that provide the in room dining for the hotel and they definitely did not disappoint as went for the garlic mushrooms with home made pitta bread to start, and for main went for the home made al fungi pizza with ham as an extra topping and a Gin and tonic, my meal was delicious but alas my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I just couldn't finish it all - definitely recommend the food, high quality Italian restaurant standard, most impressed.

Came here with my colleague for bite to eat after checking in to the hotel. Both of us were very happy with our meals. The staff were friendly and quick. The food tasty and plenty of it.

Use to always go here for decent food and excellent service. Can be pricey unless you go for special deals. Did have one major issue the house wine was advertised as a certain brand and when it came it was much cheaper wine than advertised on menu and it was disgusting! When I complained the only option was to pay more for a better bottle. No apologies and used excuse menus had not been updated. There was a wedding going on and they were ordering copious amounts of house wine but not being told it wasn't the decent brand on the menu. So very disappointed now & reluctant to go back. CHECK WHAT YOU ARE GETTING!

Great night, staff very friendly and welcoming. Evening meal was fantastic, large portions for each course very good prices and offers 2/3 course deals. Well looked after, had breakfast in the morning which was buffet. Plenty of choice and full english was brilliant. They also cater for gluten free, again good choice and chef was brilliant explaining what they could do to cater for her.Overall great experience and would definitely come back, top marks to waiting staff and chef

Visited this restaurant while staying at the Gomersal Park Hotel over a weekend. The menu covers pizzas, pastas and a selection of non-Italian. It has a set menu of 2 courses or 3 whichever you prefer or you can choose from the full menu. I had the Tortellini bolognese in a creamy sauce....delicious while my husband being a fish man had the cod loin on sweet potato mash with vine tomatoes....this was so delicious that he also had the same dish on the second night of our stay...enough said!!! I opted for the Chicken Romana on the second night...chicken breast topped with mozzarella cheese and tomato served with tiny roast potatoes and salad. If you have room for dessert ( not a given with the size of the main course) try the Tiramisu or the Sticky toffee pudding :) ENJOY

Stayed on Friday , thankfully this place brought our moods up after seeing state of hotel rooms ! The food was lovely , could not complain about anything! I'd love to get the carbonara recipe was one of best I've had !! The garlic bread was lovely stone baked very nice . Choc cake also very good ! Very nice restaurant nice atmosphere, shame staff don't wear name badges as our waitress was lovely , I think she was the supervised as wore diff clothes to rest of staff ! Overall lovely meal and would recommend!

Did not enjoy this food. Really just wanted to eat plain English or Chinese food, not Italian food. The restaurant is some what outdated in decor. Plastic plants hanging from the ceciling.

We were celebrating so decided to try this restaurant, and when we arrived it was quite deserted and pretty quiet, staff were fine but we thought we would go for the Steak and treat ourselves but found the Prices were suitable for a fancy restaurant but food was not.Steaks were a lot smaller and not as good as I was expecting considering we spent over a £100 for a midweek meal for two. - I wanted a better standard.I wouldn't call it VFM.

We arrived half an hour early for our booking so thought we would have a quiet drink in the bar first. After 15 mins of waiting at the bar and still no service (1 barmaid and a wedding party in!) we asked if we could sit at our table so that at least we could have a drink. The staff were all friendly and efficient and our waitress did apologise for our wait at the bar even though it wasn't her fault. We bother had potato skins to start, fab! Then seabass and monk fish dishes for main, then panacotta and fudge cake for pud. All the food was excellent and we could not fault it. We would def recommend this place but maybe not when there is a wedding on!

We were staying in the hotel, so thought we'd take advantage of this restaurant. I have to say, that although it is very clean, the staff are friendly and efficient, and it is reasonably priced, we were disappointed.The menu is very uninspiring - Italian food is more than just pizza or pasta. Even the dessert menu wasn't up to much. The food was well cooked, and we enjoyed our meal, but other Italian restaurants offer a much more varied menu.All in all, a disappointment.

We were really looking forward to this as we had a family reunion planned...the reunion was fab but the service and food was very average...the staff were very pleasant and friendly but the service was very slow and the food average...nothing special.

Stopped at the hotel for few days. Decided to eat at the Massimo. I ordered bruschetta bread for light bite lunch which I found was gorgeous and generously covered in cheese. It was enough to fill me for our meal later that night. For tea, I ordered the lasagne, which was enough for 2-3 people! My partner ordered the carbonara which was tasty. The potato skins was enough for two so me and partner decided to share it with our mains. We had no room for dessert it was very filling. Waiter in blue suit was very welcoming and delivered excellent customer service. I would recommend this Italian to anyone :) however drinks are very expensive .. London prices .. £4.50 a pint of beer and £5 for Smirnoff vodka and lemonade

We were a large group and as a result we had pre-ordered our food. When we arrived as there were a couple of extra people with us the person who had organised the booking checked that this was going to be fine and gave the extra orders. We appeared to be virtually the only people in the restaurant. Some of us had also ordered starters.When we first arrived one of the our party was told that the goat's cheese salad she had ordered wouldn't have goat's cheese on it. They had known about this order for a couple of days, why did they run out of goat's cheese??? The starters arrived. One of our party didn't get her starter and had to ask for it. She wasn't one of the extras so no excuse for this one at all. They did bring her out a salad. Then the mains started arriving. 7 people in the group didn't receive their mains at all! When asked was told that it would be up to half an hour, one of which was a pasta meal and I can cook a fresh pasta meal at home in 10 minutes. 2 of the group left then and there and went to McDonalds. Some of the group also left to go somewhere else. They offered one of the group who had missed out a dessert but as we were all paying and leaving, so she of course declined. Felt last minute. Overall the service felt poor. Most of the food was OK, apart from the garlic bread which looked like a pizza minus the cheese but including lost of tomato paste so tasted like tomato paste and not garlic bread. Overall was very disappointed.

Called here for an early dinner.Had a aperitif on the terrace first in the sun. Very nice.Then in for dinner.Vegetarian antipasto is a real culinary pleasure. Everything from suntouch toms, cornichons, buffallo mozzarella, sliced tomato, artichoke, wild rocket, parmesan shavings, olives and pickled balsamic onions were lovely.Then of course a pizza. I had the veggy one which was a superb. A side of rosemary pots and a house salad.The wine list is also really good and we were enjoying large 250 glasses of Laurent Perrier for £9.50. I noticed a nice chianti on the list and plenty of whites including a chablis and sancerre.This place is a hidden gem and I encourage all to find it..!

Just arrived home after having lunch at Massimo. The whole experience was really quite bad and therefore warrants this review. Upon arriving into the empty restaurant (which is understandable as the football is on), I instantly wanted to leave. Although there has been some effort to create a modern and contemporary restaurant, you can't help but feel you are in some cheap canteen which lacks any ambiance or atmosphere whatsoever. We were greeted by a lady who showed us to our table and we were then handed two menus that were falling to bits. Mine was damp, torn up the centre and on its last legs. My partners had scribbles in, which had been made by a biro pen and again was in a really poor condition. It astounds me that the place would even be operating with menus like this - aside from staff greeting you into a restaurant, a menu is your first impression of the place and if I didn't already want to leave, I definitely did now. We ordered two drinks, a San Miguel and a pint of Diet Coke. My Diet Coke arrived in a branded Tetley's glass and was only filled partly to the top. Now I know that a glass is a glass but this really cheapens your dining experience. I understand that it is only s soft drink but to serve a young lady a drink in a Tetley's pint glass just baffles me. I would expect this in a working men's club but not in an Italian restaurant. Following this, we ordered a bread basket with balsamic vinegar and olive oil to share whilst waiting for our main meal. This came at the price of around £4.50 which I find quiet pricey as a lot of hotels/restaurants offer complimentary bread. This took two members of staff approximately 10 painful minutes to rustle up. I could see both waiting staff stood at the side board cutting our bread, only for it to be left for 5 minutes, then returned to and faffed with some more. When it was eventually served we were told they had ran out of olive bread, so they had "over compensated" with some extra slices of the other bread. The bread served to us was so stale it was actually humiliating! It was totally inedible and to say it was a few days old wouldn't be exaggerating. We told the waiter when he cleared our "bread basket" and he felt the bread and said "oh yes, it is stale - my apologies". Well of course he knew it was stale - I just saw him cutting it for a good 10 minutes! Why was this bread served to us and even worse why were we still charged for it? £4.50 for lumps of stale bread! After our shocking experience so far, it's safe to say we were dreading our main course. We were waiting a very long time and I'm baffled as to why, seeing as we were the only people in the whole place. During our wait we could hear staff chatting away with a total disregard for the two customers they had. It was very awkward and uncomfortable for us to sit there and listen to them talking, very loudly in an empty restaurant. Anyways, our meals arrived - I had pasta which in totally honesty I could have rustled up at home in 10 minutes. The sauce tasted like a shop bought jar and someone looked like they had cut up a pepperoni and dumped it in the middle. My partner had pizza which was the best out of a bad meal but was still average at a push. We also ordered a side order of chips which looked and tasted like oven chips that had been thrown in a deep fat fryer. We couldn't wait to get out of there and feel bitterly disappointed that we chose to eat here. I'm actually astounded that this place has received any positive reviews. I try to avoid chain restaurants like the plague but would happily eat at somewhere like Zizzis at Junction 27 over somewhere like here any day of the week. Inexperienced staff, slow service and just an overall dreadful experience.

Ate here following an evening at the Dream Spa next door. You don't have to be a hotel guest to eat here which we weren't. The place lacks a bit of atmosphere but I can't put my finger on why. Maybe because it was quiet (we went on a Thursday night) maybe the layout, possibly the decor/lighting. However, the food was really, really good. I had pate and carbonara which were both amazing. If you are staying at the hotel definitely try it. Has the potential to be really excellent if the atmosphere is sorted. Staff friendly.

We ate at this restaurant several times during our 5 day stay at the Gomersal Park Hotel and every meal was excellent. They went out of their way to adapt the menu to cater to personal taste and we were extremely well looked after by the lovely knowledgeable and friendly staff from the moment we walked in the door. Highly recommend you try this place it will soon become a form favourite to visit again and again.

Good friendly service, delicious food, accommodating staff, reasonable prices, set in beautiful grounds.

After being pampered in the Dream Spa we decided to return to the Hotel Restaurant for an Evening meal Service and Food was Excellent

It is an Italian restaurant and everything appears to be cooked fresh, is very well presented and appears to all the senses. Ate on both evenings and could have carried on even though i couldn't actually finish the dishes (eyes too big for stomach)

Excellent food choices and very good offers (2 course for £10 or 3 course for £15).We had starters (bruchetta and garlic bread) large portions very tasty. Main was chicken, beef burger and fish. All lovely cooked with delicious home cooked chips. The only thing I would say was that there was no atmosphere, needs music on as it was quiet when we arrived but busy when we left. Cocktails not sold on weekends, don't know why. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Good selection on the menu. Had eaten a lot of Italian food lately so went for grilled chicken and salad - was well cooked and tasty

Evening menu had a great selection, food was well presented and fresh. My husband had fillet steak which was cooked to perfection, and he was very happy overall.The breakfast was self service, was a fantastic selection from cooked food, to pastries and fruit & yoghurt. It tasted lovely and was very fresh.Will definitely visit again in the future.

I live local to this restaurant and have to say the food and service are very good. This is not an overpriced restaurant at all, I would recommend anyone to try this place.

We went to the Gomeral Park Hotel Spa for the day for a hen party. It was a very enjoyable day and afternoon tea was excellent. The facilities were very good and the treatments were excellent. We returned in the evening to the restaurant where our table was set up - there were approximately 25 people - we had preordered our meals so that we were all served at the same time. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly and helpful. One member of staff was particularly helpful and friendly. The meal was lovely and excellent value for money. Everyone had a lovely day and evening and we would definitely return again.
