The most amazing food tried a traditional German pork schnitzel that was absoloutley mouth watering put together by an international chef and my word could you tell, Great welcoming staff a pleasure to talk too. Definetly a spot we will be returning to in the near future without a doubt.

Absolutely fantastic service! Our waiter was not only friendly and funny but also incredibly professional. Despite being a vegetarian himself, he handled our meat dishes with great care and was impressively knowledgeable, answering all our questions with confidence. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience, making us feel welcome and well looked after. His warm personality and attention to detail truly made our evening special. Highly recommend both the restaurant and this exceptional waiter!

Very poor - especially given the price! - Sunday lunch in Samuel’s restaurant. Lovely surroundings but variable service (twice waiting ten minutes for basic condiments after food arrived for example ) and most of all the poor quality of the food was a huge disappointment. Most of it was barely warm, including soup, very bland tasteless chicken parfait, cool soggy vegetables and tasteless roast beef, cold Yorkshire pudding and same gravy for all meats. Cold plates. We asked for peas for someone who couldn’t eat the standard veg but they never appeared. I sent my main back and when it returned it was only a little better on temperature - strangely the carrots were piping hot - and the now burnt tough oily Yorkshire left such a bad taste in my mouth I was desperate to brush my teeth. Asked for a small glass of red and was served a medium one but didn’t realise till I saw the bill - £11! Small Prosecco £10 that’s some mark-up way over the norm. Lots of the food went uneaten because it was inedible - you’d think when a kitchen gets lots of food back it’d ring alarm bells and in an establishment like this a manager might come and investigate what was wrong. They took 10% off the bill but really that was inadequate compensation for the very sub-standard offering. We didn’t really feel they were bothered. Then we accidentally miscalculated the bill split by £5.50 and they still chased that up - adding to the bad taste in the mouth. Worst £85 ( 2 courses after reduction) I’ve spent in a long time. I’ve had much better in a local pub at half the price.

Our first time in Masham and we stopped here for lunch before setting off for a walk. This place was really busy with table service both out and in as well as a takeaway window. We managed to find a table inside and had a delicious jacket potato and panini. Lots of salad and coleslaw too. Lots of other things to choose and the prices were very good value. Friendly staff added to a very pleasant experience

Ate here two days in a row. The food is the best pub food out there. Fish and chips with the lightest crispest batter I’ve ever tasted, and perfectly cooked steak. Good wines too, and Theakston’s beer on tap. Plus faultless friendly serviceWhat more could you want?

Choice of beer was limited and the pub itself felt a bit cramped. It was busy and quite a few people were eating what looked like nice food. If I return to Masham, will probably try the food here, but it would not be my choice for a beer due to lack of choice.

Gluten free review for the cafe: I visited the Druid’s Temple today and went to the cafe for lunch afterwards. Gluten free cakes and sandwiches were available. I had an ultimate hot chocolate and a trout and cream cheese sandwich (GF bread), and I’m sad to say that neither were very flavourful. The hot chocolate was weak and watery, and the sandwich was very dry. It’s a shame because the setting is so beautiful! A word to cross contamination, I have reacted to the food that I had, so I suspect that the chopping board used for my sandwich may not have been cleaned down before preparing my food (or similar). There was also a gluten free chocolate brownie which was in the same cabinet next to gluten containing cakes, with tongs that customers could use to select their own cakes, but no separate gluten free pair. If anyone from the cafe happens to read this, from coeliacs and gluten free people everywhere please could you make sure that cross contamination risk is limited through simple measures such as cleaning down a surface before making gluten free food (we don’t mind waiting a bit longer for piece of mind!), and that GF cakes and sweet treats are kept separate and using separate tongs etc? When we find places that don’t gluten us we share it heavily in the community!

Filthy! If you want to eat in the most disgusting environment then this is your place. The floor looked liked it hasn’t been cleaned for weeks. The chairs are stained and full of debris. No tables cleared.

We have being visiting this cafe for over 15 years and always enjoyed visisting with family. The team in the yellow uniforms were always friendly and the prices VERY resonable. We enjoyed Xmas luches here and have great memories playing crazy / mini golf. Visited today hoping to enyoy cake and a latte, but noticed new owners have taken over. Sadly not a patch on previous set up and sorry to say the wonerful home made baking was replaced with uninspiring offerings. Latte was the worsed i have had in many years, can only be described it as white coffee, the owner was unimpressed and rude with me asking for a replacement. Will not be returning.
