Caffe Nero - Ripon in Harrogate

Filthy! If you want to eat in the most disgusting environment then this is your place. The floor looked liked it hasn’t been cleaned for weeks. The chairs are stained and full of debris. No tables cleared.

I popped in to grab a takeout coffee on my way through town and was In and out within 5 minutes. The staff were super sweet and friendly with me as I ordered, my drink was made efficiently and tasted brilliant. the layout inside is lovely as well but I didn’t sit in this time. Staff were all hard at work but still had the time to be friendly and welcoming which was nice to see!

Cafe Nero Ripon I have no knowledge of how these establishments model their business.I doubt it’s franchise unless the franchisees do there HR training at Tenko before learning their welfare from a Siberian salt mine.The staff here are regularly left many bodies short for the foot fall of the shop.This they take in their stride and raise a smile and carry on with their toil regardless.Great Coffee,Great service but under the leadership of a moron slave driver.As Marco Pierre White once commented “the fish rots from the head”.My advise would be to chop the head off before it infects a jolly tasty fish.

We visited Caffe Nero many places, and also tried many others in Britain for coffee, but Caffe Nero is the best. It serves decent strong classic coffee (sorry that they now try to offer Nespresso as well, to be avoided) and nice cakes on the side. Most Caffe Nero places have lazy chairs in different styles. Also this one in Ripon. Excellent location, the familiar interior decoration, good coffee.

Went for a coffee . Several people sat DRINKING AND EATING . Asked for “ large skinny latte TO HAVE IN please . Was serviced a take out . “ asked for drink in . “ only doing take out . NO REFUND NO APOLOGY… DISCUSTING

Lovely friendly cafe. Coffee very good. It was market day so was fairly busy but well laid out with good ambience.

A few weeks ago my mother passed away. The staff know me as a daily visitor most of the time. When they saw I was upset , the staff paid for the coffee themselves. We had a short chat & their friendly smiles cheered me up a little. I get a smile & perhaps a short chat every day. & when it's your first Christmas in over 20 years. I am now on my own 51 years old & disabled. It gets lonely sometimes. So a smile & a chat makes a difference. Thank You Very Much & Have a brilliant new year. x

This is a regular coffee shop for us and whereas the service has always been good, the decor and cramped space didn’t do it any favours. We were pleasantly surprised therefore to find a brand new extension that gives it so much more room. The decor is also smart and modern and I understand that the next phase is to upgrade the original area. So now it is a roomy, smart branch of the chain with splendid views of the Market Place.

Nicely positioned in the square, this Caffe Nero lived up th the Nero standard - good service, pleasant staff and really nice Espresso

Visited today - waited forever for service, looking round behind the counter it was obvious just how grubby the place is in the prep area. Seemingly different staff every day, Sometime the service is reduced to paper cups only - but of course Neros never reduce their inflated prices at times like this. Ok, staff are hard to find these days but this place is going down the pan these days. Got fed up of waiting so left. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Amazingly this was the only establishment on the spacious Market Square that had outside seating ; given it was a beautiful day this was a key deciding factor on our choice of venue. The café seemed to be rather under staffed; that said it was a great cup of coffee.

As we live nearby, we visit Ripon regularly and this branch of Cafe Nero is our regular coffee stop in the city. It isn’t the largest of branches, so it is good that they now offer a few outside tables to augment the indoor seating. The location is right on the Market Square, so is right in the heart of this small city and an ideal place to take in the atmosphere and engage in a bit of people watching - especially on Market Day. Service is consistently good and this is a very good branch of our favourite coffee chain.

Visited twice within the last couple of days, the staff members have been super lovely and uplifting. A very nice atmosphere within the coffee shop. And the salted caramel latte is such a good treat on a cold day. Short waiting time and hot coffee making me want to come back again and again. 🙂 Thank you.

Couldn't get the coffee we wanted....half my espresso went in the machine because she couldn't line the cup up. Gave me half a paper cup of tap water begrudgingly to have with my espresso. Perhaps the staff should wear facemasks with pre printed smiles.

So visiting our favourite coffee shop after lockdown. No normal tea why? We are all not decaf junkies. Always like to sit near the window watching the world go by, not today. The only view I can see is bags of rubbish! If it's a council problem surely putting it elsewhere would be more appropriate.

5/5 Visit: This Caffè Nero! What can I say, apart from AMAZING. Me and my partner popped in for a quick coffee when we visited Ripon and the service was extremely friendly. You firstly do not feel rushed, the staff serving were always available and waited for you to decide at your own pace. This is rare within coffee shops nowadays. When ordering the staff started the drinks the second I ordered which also is amazing. The drinks must have arrived within under 2 minutes which is phenomenal. Overall amazing experience! Thank you Ripon Nero! You are ace and a credit to your brand

We like Cafe Nero coffee so decided to pop into this one for a cake and drinks whilst walking around Ripon. It was pleasant enough and the stff were friendly and helpful. However, it is quite small and was very busy but we managed to find a seat. The interior seemed a bit worn but it was clean and tidy.There was only one toilet which meant that there tended to be a waiting period as you noticed that as soon as someone came out another jumped up to use them.The drinks and food were fine but it was an average experience overall

Good to sit in the window and watch the world go by. Usual excellent coffee with friendly efficient staff.

Great coffee in a delightful position. I sat in a window seat overlooking the central area of Ripon, very pleasant.

open until 6pm during the week is helpful for after work down-time with good coffee. Met my wife after her shopping on a cold day - it was cosy inside and the window sofa seat is very comfortable. Pleasant servers and good coffee at a fair price.

Usually a good cup of coffee can be had here. Unfortunately, the new staff are unsmiling and seem rather lazy. The last two times I have been, this resulted in luke warm espresso through lack of warmed cups which the staff refused to acknowledge, claiming they were the experts and that often, customers complain that the coffee is too hot. Lets hope things get back to normal soon.

To say it was market day, it was still a relaxing experience. The coffee was very good indeed although a little expensive.

Not a good experience at this Neros we were served 2 americanos that were flat with no creama at all and you just know that you will have no coffe flavour with that, it is like serving someone a flat beer, and also so we were given mahoosive spoons no teaspoon so were very disapointed we drink coffee in neros where ever we are and I have to say this was one of the worst and not very good service either.Think we must be lucky in our town we have a great Neros and great staff.

We come in here pretty often and have found it consistently good. I don't know if there has been a change in staff, but on our last visit the service was very slow, and I was disappointed to see one of the lads put his fingers inside the clean cups when fetching them, instead of only using the handles.

Called in with grandchildren for hot chocolate and marsh mallow etc. All very happy! Thank you for a quiet break.

I suppose if you've been in one Cafe Nero you've been in them all, but I don't mean that as a criticism.

We stopped in here today because we needed a rest from driving. The coffee and hot chocolate was beautiful and delightful. The staff are kind and made us feel welcome.

We had coffee and cake in this Nero cafe. The staff and I must say the customers were great, the whole experience made us smile. Young lad who uses the busses was an asset to the cafe.

We stopped for an early morning coffee as we was travelling through . Coffee was excellent as always and the croissant was lovely and fresh, staff very politie and welcoming

Nos volvimos a media tarde en un día frío con inviernos de mirar Ripon, y queríamos una copa rápida caliente antes nos dirigimos a casa. Habiendo tenido un almuerzo ligero en el teashop, nos Repica ahora optamos por este lugar para una taza de café y chocolate caliente. Tuvimos la suerte de conseguir un par de cómodos sillones en una mesa de ventana que acababan de dejar. La mayoría de las mesas estaban ocupadas, es una posición muy práctica central, situado en la plaza del mercado, en el corazón de la ciudad. Tendemos a preferir el café en el Café Nero, comparado a costa, que estaba a la vuelta de la esquina. También tuvimos un pequeño panecillo italiano difícil dunk en bebidas calientes, que estaba muy sabroso, con almendras.

Dependable quality in the centre of Ripon and so close to Thomas's for their beautiful curd tarts and Appleton's for a breakfast roll or a pork pie for lunch.

Prime Location on the Town Square, don't think Multi- National Chain Store, this is a lovely, welcoming Local. Although it was almost Closing Time, my need to use a Phone Charger was furnished with a Smile.After a tiring day's Horse Racing, I was served a delicious Latte by a young Lady , who, upon hearing of the reason for my visit to the town, chatted about all things Horses, and Motor Bikes. Go visit!

Fuimos a tomar un café una mañana, había una cola de clientes esperando a ser servido, sino el tiempo de espera no largo. El personal está muy bien organizado y capacitado y bebidas son agradables, caliente y generoso. Puedo decir que Nero es mi primera opción cuando necesite un buen café, sándwiches muy buenos.

Not many places open as it was Easter Day, but stopped her for a coffee break. It was very busy and quite a small place, but managed to find a seat. Service was quick. The place was clean and tidy. Loo's very clean at the back of the café. Nice having papers to read whilst having a rest.

We had coffee and sandwiches, the coffee was very good, my sandwich was good, but the one my wife had wasn't very tasty. Service was polite, friendly and efficient, the café is nice and clean and well laid out; my only criticism would be that the décor especially towards the rear of the premises is rather dark and gloomy.

I had a skinny mocha with no cream. Tasted delicious. Tables were clean. Trainee was smiley and friendly.

Always consistently good coffee although tight for space. This visit wS a little disappointing as I found a gentleman taking up two tables as it looked like he'd set up office for the day. His desktop was clearly vidible, open, with papers around, using an additional table for his coffee. I have seen him in there before, sitting in same place, doing same things. It is slightly off putting - especially when at busy times, customers are leaving because there is nowhere to sit. Is it Caffe Nero policy to allow people to run there business from their shops? Also, the toilets on this particular day were dirty. They certainly would benefit from a deep clean, especially the pipes, plumbing behind the cistern - filthy!

Just called in for a coffee and was by far better quality and price than the other coffee chains. keep it up

On a rainy Sunday afternoon it looked to be the only place open on the square but the staff at Caffé Nero couldn't have been less happy to see us if they'd tried. After ordering it became clear that they were wrapping up for the day. There are of course plenty of nice ways to let customers know you're closing, but the surly Sunday staff here have evidently yet to be schooled in them, choosing instead to rabbit on about their insurance not covering them after the witching hour of 5 o'clock. The till was closed at 4:30, a fact I discovered when I tried to purchase a slice at 4:31. I could almost understand their refusal to take my money for a product already cut and on the shelf if I'd needed change but I was proferring the correct money. All in all a pathetic performance that put dampener on a visit to this otherwise pretty town.

Situated on one corner of Ripon Market Square so great place to sit with a coffee and 'people watch' or meet up with friends. Good coffee and lots of tempting cakes, muffins and cookies should you wish to indulge.

Arguably the best coffee in town with lots of tempting nibbles to fatten you up. The staff are friendly and service is good.

Not really a restaurant but a very nice coffee shop. Enjoy a peaceful cup overlooking Rions market square.

Rught on the market square, cafe Nero is always a reliable place for excellent coffee and perhaps a bite to eat. Not too large inside but comfy cosey and I've always found friendlyI am a regular so perhaps bias but Nero coffee, whether blend or ambience is the best of the "chains" for me.

Although well placed on the town square, this place was grubby. The toilet was right next to the serving counter and was clearly a storage room too. Not impressed and won't go back.

Nero blows other coffee places out of the water, it's a proper coffee with real taste! Ripon is a lovely friendly place and at this Nero's it's a good place to watch life go by in the town square.
