The best restaurants in East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Disappointed ! I thought it was dark and gloomy in there. It’s a small place so the tables were on top of each other, which I don’t like. We ordered two Americanos and it was just filter coffee. Very disappointing, I don’t think £3 for a weak Americano made with filter coffee is good value. Service was very slow for both coffee and the breakfasts. We ordered the full English breakfast and Eggs Benedict. My wife didn’t want the muffin and asked for toast instead of the muffin. The £11 Eggs Benedict comes on one slice of toast which I thought was incredibly mean, and stingy. I ended up giving my wife my toast from my English breakfast to bulk hers out. She said it was very rich, there was too much hollandaise sauce drowning everything, and it was gloopy. My breakfast was better, though why they chose to include slices of yesterday’s potato instead of mushrooms was baffling. The bacon was good, the one sausage on a £13 breakfast less so. The poached eggs were nicely done. It was just okay, the kitchen needs to up its game, I won’t be going back as I considered it to be overpriced and quite poor value. The overall bill was £30 for what felt like a £20 breakfast. Also….the phone with an awful ring tone was ringing constantly and it never got picked up for ages having irritated everyone in the establishment. From me it’s a big fat NO! I should have said something at the time, but I was annoyed and could not be bothered with a debate or to even talk about it. They should have got it right, they didn’t. It shouldn’t need a complaint, it is a long opened establishment and they are obviously complacent. Words on here will give them more of a kick to improve things than me standing there arguing would.

We held a birthday party here, and it was fabulous. We were so very well looked after and accommodated. The bar staff were friendly, and worked hard to make sure no one waited long. Huge thanks for a brilliant night in a fabulous pub! Cheers!

Great pub. Wonderfully friendly atmosphere. Nothing fancy. Lovely beer garden too. Beer is always 'Bang on'

Nice Chinese the sweet and sour Hong Kong style was great so was the salt and pepper chicken. The prawn toast was huge and also very nice. Prepared very quickly too

Shame the stars only go up to 5 as this place deserves more! Lovely warm welcome when we entered (myself, Mum and Sis) by a lovely lady behind the counter. We took our seats, which was quite amusing as we are all under 5' but we had a giggle getting up on the seats/benches which only made our visit more fun - and gave the owner a giggle too, as well as my Sis getting stuck on the chair! Having done some research we knew what we wanted so off we go to order two Knickerbocker Glory's and one 3 Scoop Sundae (which took some deciding from the 22 different flavours!) Have to say, my KG was absolutely gorgeous - so much fruit and jelly too, not all Gelato as in other places. My Mum and Sis enjoyed their KG and Sundae too. Was funny when the owner piped up with "That's what I like to hear - silence. It means you're all enjoying it!" to which Mum replied "It's not often we're all this quiet!" Such lovely welcome, lovely clean surroundings, so much choice, reasonable prices, lovely creamy Gelato and a good giggle and chat with the owner - what more could you ask for? Could be easily missed so please check out this place, you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to my piece of Flapjack which I brought home for later - perfect ending to a wonderful Birthday :) :) Will definitely be back :)

Bread was stale. Very dry and crumbled in my hands. Not what you expect from couplands. Considering they sell fresh bread I was very upset. Put me off my sandwich. I would have took it back but didn't eat it soon as I left the shop. I was at the other end of Weighton. Maybe if it wasn't raining I'd have gone back

It's now called Hedon Pizza, good choice of takeaway food, recommend the chicken kebab. The pizza are good aswell.

Well I am really sad to write this review. I love the food , we always visit the restaurant but today we ordered a takeaway, but this was the biggest mistake we did !!! After waiting longer than said we were phoned to say it was arriving !!! But where? It was a total shambles trying to phone the delivery person and after walking round looking for him, nowhere to be found we had to forget the delivery! And the restaurant manager didn’t seem to be bothered 😢 such a shame as I love the banter when we visit. Saturday night ruined 😠 and I’m sad because I will have to go elsewhere 😢
