We had a fish, chip & irish curry sauce, pie & chips plus sausage & chips takeaway. The fish was perfect, not greasy at all & the rest was spot on too, whether your eating in or out it comes up as a great chippy.

What a place! Awesome atmosphere, genuinely friendly staff, the best DG's, club nights, reasonably priced drinks and delicious Thai food. Anything goes, and everyone welcome. The Golden Lion in Todmorden is a breath of fresh air, and it's easy to see why people travel from far and wide to bathe in the craziness. Can't wait to get back.

We visited to watch an Amateur Wrestling League who were performing in the function room beyond the bar! The venue is a cool converted mill and is deceptively hidden at first glance (until you realise where the entrance is on your first visit) They serve Bumbu, which is one of the best alcohols and seldom found outside of Weatherspoons so 10/10 for that alone!

Delighted to find Grasso - amazing coffee with huge taste - great menu - the spicing and serving was perfection. We haven't eaten out this well for ages. Service was lovely and friendly. Hard to do justice to this superlative experience. Just simply the best. Thank you so much - we can't wait to come back for more.

Had some lunch here. It's not high end but it doesn't claim to be but for the low price it was really filling and satisfying. Genuinely preferred it to some more expensive pubs we've tried. Sometimes you just want some normal grub. The baguette was massive and with nice fries in a basket. Partner got a bacon burger. We had 2 drinks and it was only about ÂŁ15 for 2 people and we were full. Could do with some music on for atmosphere but lots of seats. I'd say give a chance and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I recently visited the Staff of Life for Sunday roast, having moved to the area and been on the hunt for the best one around. After trying several places and feeling let down, this pub finally delivered on the high praise I’d heard. The roast dinner was delicious —especially the rich, flavorful gravy. Portions were generous, and the cozy, traditional English pub atmosphere, complete with a welcoming fire, made the experience even better. The staff were friendly and made me feel right at home. They also offer tasty starters and desserts. I’ll definitely be coming back!
